Memories of a great Operating System for data processing over the Internet.

I have a great memory of Scientific Linux, I didn't expect to get it on the list, I still have it installed in a Virtual Machine to perform tests on large databases. I received different types of BigData over multiple networks to store and process, today it would be a great help if I received updates for improvements.

Operating System with nostalgia

Linux is the best deal for security, enterprise and stability, Scientific Linux processes data perfectly for query work, but no longer receives updates.

What is Fermi Research Alliance?

The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) is a joint partnership between the University of Chicago and the Universities Research Association (URA). It primarily operates Fermilab, a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. Fermilab is devoted to the exploration and understanding of the fundamental components and laws of the universe, involving cutting-edge research in particle physics and related fields. The website https://scientificlinux.org, mentioned in your query, is associated with a project that originated at Fermilab. Scientific Linux is an open-source Linux distribution that was originally produced by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). It is specifically tailored for scientific and academic environments, incorporating various scientific applications and tools. This Linux distribution was created to provide a common operating system for the scientific community, ensuring consistency and compatibility across different research frameworks. However, note that Scientific Linux is no longer actively maintained after its final release, version 7.x.
