Monitoring for Tech-heads
The bit I like most about Checkmk is that it can basically connect to anything from a monitoring point of view. There are numerous agents available which can be set up easily enough. If all that fails, you can use what they call Local Checks. These are checks that can simply analyze basic text or numbers at stated intervals. We use the system to analyze data values rather than any physical device on our network.
