Dependable Virtualization with Room for Improvement

|VMware vSphere
I really appreciate how VMware vSphere makes virtualization management so reliable and easy. The features like vMotion and DRS stand out to me because they allow VM movements without downtime and automatically balance workloads across hosts. The integration with vCenter is a big plus, all managed from one dashboard, which saves me a lot of time. The stability and efficiency of the platform are what I value the most. Using vCenter to manage everything in a single place is very efficient, and with tools like vSAN and NSX, my environment is more complete and easier to manage. The setup was also straightforward with a guided process for configuring clusters and resources. I use vSphere daily for managing virtual machines, which helps optimize hardware usage and ensures high availability for critical applications. VM consolidation helps reduce hardware costs, and the resource balancing makes performance management much easier.

Unified VMware Platform Streamlines Operations

|VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
I really like VMware Cloud Foundation because it combines the different tools of the VMware ecosystem into one, unified platform. This allows me to handle compute, networking, and storage from a single console, which simplifies managing our infrastructure. The integration and standardization of these tools are particularly beneficial and reduce the friction between components. I also appreciate its suitability for modern practices like Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) with built-in APIs that support these purposes. Additionally, it eliminates some challenges associated with manual deployment across different parts of the VMware ecosystem. The automated bundle updates are fantastic for reducing the risk of major breaking changes during upgrades. I find the native GitOps features very useful, as they allow me to provision virtual machines using kubectl.
