Artificial intelligence (AI) has become the hottest topic in technology. Its use in the age of digital transformation spans the commercial and public sectors, fueling debate among businesses, lawmakers, and the public. I have been putting pen to paper on the subject for a few years now; having recently joined G2 to nurture the expansion of our AI categories (as well as our analytics, cloud, and security categories), I would like to sum up some of my views, while setting the scene for a more detailed exploration of the technologies, business challenges, and trends shaping AI. 

Can you imagine your life without a computer?

As I sit here in the airport lounge at Philadelphia International Airport, I'm thinking about the security checks I’m ever so familiar with these days. 

Is sensitive customer data an asset or a liability? When we think about the most successful companies in recent years that have leveraged customer data to build competitive advantages—such as the FAANG companies (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google)—we think of customer data as an asset.
