"A Winning Tool for Non-profits"

What do you like best about Zeffy?

Zeffy offers an all-in-one solution for some of non-profits most pressing needs: online donations, event registration, email communication, membership plans, auctions, raffles, peer-to-peer and online fundraising. And the amazing part: it's free to use! Set up is easy, you can add multiple users, and if you ever get stuck on something, the tutorials and the chat support are exceptional. What do you dislike about Zeffy?

In order to make the app free for non-profits, Zeffy asks for an optional donation to cover their costs. Their suggested donation percentages are quite high so it can be quite a shock for customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?

The ability to add multiple users solves the problem that a number of organizations deal with - turnover. Many apps just allow one user, so when that person steps aside, it's a challenge switching to another person. What do you like best about Zeffy?

Since joining Zeffy, we have saved so much money in processing fees which creates a much more sustainable model for our organization. I appreciate that it is constantly evolving and recently started implementing CRM capabilities into its offerings. Franc even set up a call with us to go over the features and answer our questions. What do you dislike about Zeffy?

Prior to these recent updates there were some elements that were fairly limiting, but now many of those issues have been mitigated. The one thing I have noticed recently is with ticketing for a multi-day event being a little complex to set up, especially if we have different tiers and discounts. On the ticketing issue you have noticed since, that is worth sending to support with the specific event, since they can look at the settings on your campaign directly. "A non-profit start-up's best friend"

What do you like best about Zeffy?

As a small nonprofit startup, Zeffy has been a big part of our launch. We've utilized the system to help us grow our organization outside of the standard within our industry. The ability to tell our supporters that we're able to take debit card or credit card right there by tapping our phones has made us far easier for folks to work with and become a preferred partner. The available reporting on the phone makes it that much easier as the president of the organization to be able to track where our dollars are coming from, where they're going, and also monitor our participants. As a small nonprofit, for some folks, the ability to register without paying a fee is a big selling point. For others feeling more generous, they go ahead and they donate the fee to help offset those who can't afford it. On recording the buyer's name against a cash sale you track in Zeffy, that is genuinely helpful feedback and a precise request. It is worth asking support what your campaign type allows today, since offline entries differ between campaigns, and the underlying request goes directly into building the roadmap.

Since you mentioned registrations, one detail worth knowing: every registration creates or updates a contact automatically and sends a receipt, so the family list you need for next year builds itself while the current campaign runs.

What do you like best about Zeffy?

Zeffy is free to use and it's fairly simple but still lots of options for customizing. The fact that it's simple and free has kept us from venturing to other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zeffy?

Zeffy does not integrate with any other platforms (like Brevo and Odoo, for example) so we rely heavily on Zapier to do automations like reconciling payouts to individual donors and so on. I think Zeffy could grow a lot more if it leaned into the automations space.

There is also a strict payout timeline of a week at minimum. I wish there was an option to maybe pay a fee to do a same-day transfer but there isn't.

I also wish there was a way to upload campaign information as an xlsx file instead of having to manually input everything (especially when we are doing hundreds of peer-to-peer campaigns simultaneously). "Incredible features actually for free"

What do you like best about Zeffy?

It was easy to use and it didn't cost us money. As a small nonprofit using fundraising/ticketing software for the first time, we didn't have to shell out money on something we couldn't figure out how to use. The user interface is pleasant and easy to navigate. There's no cost, which was hard to believe, but it is true. There's no contract--trying something for the first time and being able to abandon it whenever gave us a lot of freedom. Payments and reporting was easy. What do you dislike about Zeffy?

The same thing I like about Zeffy is the thing I dislike about it--it's free to the org, but there is an optional but already checked fee that passes on to the user to pay to Zeffy. If your constituents can read, you'll have no issues. If they click faster than they read, they're gonna pay a percentage to Zeffy but might take it out on you and act like they didn't see it or we didn't tell them. "The Backbone of Our Nonprofit, Not Just a Donation Tool"

What do you like best about Zeffy?

What I like best is that Zeffy handles almost everything our all-volunteer nonprofit needs in one place, and it's 100% free for us. We don't lose a percentage of every donation, ticket, or membership to platform fees, so more money goes directly to our mission.

We use it well beyond donations:

Communications: we create newsletters and targeted mailings right inside Zeffy, and it's easy to import mailing lists from other sources, so there's no need for a separate CRM or email marketing platform

Membership management: members sign up and renew online, and we can track everyone without a separate system

Event ticketing: we've run major events, including a celebrity luncheon, entirely through Zeffy

Auctions and online store: fundraisers that used to require separate tools are now built in

Reporting and accounting: automatic tax receipts, clean exports, and a QuickBooks integration that maps Zeffy income to our chart of accounts automatically makes my work as treasurer work much easier

What do you dislike about Zeffy?

The main limitation is that Zeffy isn't always as customizable as we'd like. A couple of examples:

No conditional form logic: we'd love to calculate membership dues based on answers to different questions, or change field labels depending on earlier responses

No custom HTML emails: the email builder is great, but sometimes it would be nice to import a full HTML design created outside of Zeffy

That said, new features are added all the time. The Zeffy team really listens to what users need and regularly addresses feedback, so we're confident these gaps will keep shrinking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Zeffy solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're a small, all-volunteer figure skating club, and before Zeffy we were paying fees on everything and piecing together separate tools for payments, events, membership, and email. Keeping it all in sync was a headache, and reconciling the books took way too much of my time as treasurer. Automated handling of tax receipts is a huge win.

Now everything runs through Zeffy. We keep 100% of what we raise, members renew online (for some of our membership types), receipts go out automatically, and income flows into QuickBooks already mapped to our accounts. We even ran our 40th anniversary luncheon with Nancy Kerrigan through it, along with other fundraisers and club events such as our popular "Friday Night Ice". Zeffy is so easy to use, and offers just the right amount of data and information for an organization of our scale. We were tired of overpaying for features we didn't need, especially those more geared towards large organizations or sales-based industries. One of the biggest problems solved by using Zeffy was our membership management system. Having automatic renewals, year-over-year tracking, reminder emails, and member portal is just so incredibly helpful, not to mention being able to provide a special members rate for our admission-based events, which is one of the main features of membership. Also it makes communication to our members a thousand times easier! What do you like best about Zeffy?

Zeffy is very easy to use and works especially well for small nonprofit programs. We use it for our dance classes, and it makes registration and payment management simple and organized. I also really appreciate that it is designed for nonprofits and helps us keep our costs low.
