Zeffy has made it possible to add items to sell and easily allow customers to pay for items. During our fall festival at our church, I was able to build out products for our concessions and our carnival tickets. I loved how customers could scan a QR code or I could take payment through the app by tapping cards to my phone. It was easy to use, loved the fact that as a non-profit there were no fees associated with the app. It made it all worthwhile and we have used it repeatedly for many different events! I use Zeffy at the local and regional levels of a non-profit I volunteer with that is 100% volunteer. We keep costs as low as we can to keep our organization as financially accessible as we can to all who want to participate. Zeffy saves us money by not taking a fee from member registrations and donations. It also provides an easy-to-use tool for our volunteers that helps keep us organized in managing registrations, events, donations, costs, and our bookkeeping. Members and donors find it easy to use, and it looks professional! In addition, Zeffy is actively expanding its functionality, such as expanding into newsletter services. I also like that they actively recruit feedback. I feel that my user experience communication can make a difference in improving Zeffy. Lastly, with no paid employees, a nice, free tool like this encourages and eases volunteerism. When so many things are so expensive, Zeffy's support is much appreciated! I dislike that the automatically suggested percentage donation of a platform fee to Zeffy is so high. I generally explain to our members and donors that this is just a suggested fee, not a requirement. However, when I asked Zeffy about this they explained that people's behavior has been to either make no platform donation or a large one, rather than many people making a small donation, as I had expected. I appreciate their being so accessible and responsive to feedback. My only other frustration has been functionality that does not yet exist. However, this is in comparison to other free tools I use that also have functional limitations but are NOT actively improving or taking my feedback. Zeffy has been such an amazing addition to our parent organization. It has helped to make donations, event ticket sales, and payments so easy to organize!! It offers families many options to pay from using the link, scanning a QR code, and even tapping to pay. The tap to pay feature really comes in handy when we are selling items such as pizza slices, popcorn, or on site event tickets! Additionally the ability to customize questions and get information from those that are purchasing the tickets is fantastic and allows us to get the information that we need depending on the event. I love all the different options of like raffle, ticket sales, general donations etc. that you are able to create! Parents have shared how easy it is and love the tap to pay at events since so many people are cashless now. I appreciate that I am able to share the ticket sales easily with other members of my team and can download purchaser information in a spreadsheet if needed. We had an event where we wanted people to donate, and we set up our account in minutes. We were ready for donations, and we received the full amount of those donations because Zeffy passes it through. We were able to set up different levels of administration for our team so everyone has what they need to move forward.

I'm not sure if there is anything Zeffy could do about this... on our accountant side, they have to account for all the individual contributions. So the work of one $10,000 donor and one $5 donor are same. If we end up with thousands of small donors it makes our accountants job harder. If there is a legal way for the accountant to log a lump sum from Zeffy, I'm not aware of it. And again, not sure if Zeffy could do anything about this on their end. What we love most about Zeffy is how much it has helped us as a small community pre-school to make every penny we raise go further. Fundraising is so important to us, but as a small setting, we simply cannot afford to lose a large percentage of our hard-earned fundraising income to fees and charges. Zeffy has allowed us to run raffles, ticketed events, donations and other fundraising activities in a really simple and professional way, while keeping so much more of the money within our pre-school. We were one of the first local organisations to start using Zeffy, and it has been amazing to see how well it has worked for us. In fact, we have recommended Zeffy to other local schools and fundraising groups, and since signing up, another local school has also started using it based on our recommendation, with other fundraising teams now using it too. It is fantastic to know that something we discovered and introduced to our own fundraising is now helping other organisations in our community as well. The latest UK app release has also been a huge benefit for us, particularly when running events. Being able to take payments easily on the day and scan tickets as people arrive has made the whole process much quicker and more straightforward for our volunteers. It means we can spend less time worrying about payments, cash handling and checking tickets, and more time actually enjoying our events and supporting our community. For us, Zeffy isn't just about saving money on fees; it has made fundraising easier, more accessible and less stressful, while also making our events much more professional and efficient to run. Ultimately, every pound we save on unnecessary fees is another pound that can be spent directly on the children, resources, experiences and improvements at our pre-school, and that is what makes Zeffy so valuable to us. We are proud to have been early adopters of Zeffy locally and even prouder that our recommendation has encouraged other schools and fundraising groups to discover the benefits for themselves. The main thing we disliked about Zeffy was how long it took for the UK app to become available. We could see the potential of having the app for taking payments and managing events, and having to wait for the UK release meant we weren't able to benefit from those features sooner. Now that the UK app is available, it has made a huge difference to us, particularly for taking payments at events and scanning tickets, so we feel it was definitely worth the wait. Another area we sometimes find frustrating is navigating the platform to find certain functions. For example, it can be difficult to work out where to go to refund a payment, particularly when you don't use that feature regularly. A slightly more intuitive layout or clearer signposting for things like refunds and other less frequently used functions would make the platform even easier to use. Overall, though, these are relatively small frustrations compared with the huge benefits Zeffy has provided us, and we would still highly recommend it to other pre-schools, schools and community fundraising groups. No platform fees. This is the biggest piece of attraction for a small NPO like ours. We are just a year old NPO with focus on Arts & Culture and spending on platform fees or card processing fees means either we have to raise ticket prices to accommodate for those or just eat those costs up. I just started using Zeffy and have used it to collect funds from selling tickets and sponsorships. I love that there is no fee to the non-profit. All the money goes to our organization. I'm starting to explore other uses - can it replace my newsletter that I pay for, can I manage and track my donors? We are going to start using it on our web page to collect general donations. Zeffy has one of the best user interfaces for campaign management that I've ever used. It's hard to believe that they don't charge fees. But that's the beauty of it. Our non-profit has saved $4000+ in fees by using Zeffy. And we can set up campaigns for absolutely everything we do to raise money: membership fees, merchandise sales, banquet ticket sales, silent auction. What I like best about Zeffy is that it was designed with nonprofits in mind. As a volunteer-based, community nonprofit, every dollar we raise matters, so the zero-fee model allows us to keep more of our fundraising revenue and put it directly toward our mission.

I also appreciate how easy and flexible the platform is to use. Our organization is run primarily by volunteers, so having a simple way to manage donations, event payments, and fundraising without needing extensive technical knowledge is incredibly helpful.

There isn’t much that I dislike about Zeffy, especially considering that it is a free platform for nonprofits. As with any platform, there can be a little bit of a learning curve when first getting familiar with all of the features and settings.

Some of the more advanced customization options could also be expanded, particularly for organizations that want more flexibility in how they manage events, fundraising campaigns, and donor communications. That said, these are relatively minor considerations for us. As a small, volunteer-based nonprofit, the benefits of having a zero-fee platform far outweigh any limitations. Whatever banking is being done on the backend, lots of donors' banks flagged our transactions as fraudulent and we had to deal with several charge backs as a result. The analytics are not very full featured, the transaction data has to be manually downloaded and analyzed in other software. Personally I also don't like the lack of control over the product (Zeffy isn't a white label platform, they will bug the users for donations on top of us bugging them for donations, IMO that's not a great look). The in person check out flow is also terrible and not sustainable for large events (patrons don't have time to answer a million questions and type in their email address and all sorts of nonsense).
