## WRITER Reviews
  ### 1. A good start to an AI writing tool

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

The updated Figma plug-in shows some promise in helping streamline a product designer's workflow. I like the simple command buttons to quickly generate options. Writer is a good tool for getting past the "blank page" problem!

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I find myself often confused by the interface. The terms and snippets management can be confusing with the "tray" overlapping the right side of the screen. The idea of the terms and snippets is nice – especially for folks working within a brand and style – but it's not much more than a fancy spellcheck. This tool might be best for those working in marketing and support. I haven't found as much use in digital product design.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generating options for content. Staying on brand, using particular terminology.

  ### 2. The better version of Grammarly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I like that Writer is at the intersection of Grammarly and ChatGPT. If I could only put Canva and Writer.com together, then I would be incredibly happy. Or, if I could have Writer replace my Audionotes or Zoom transcription service. Then it would be perfect. I like how I can directly link a source for my writing prompts. I like that Writer.com feels more private and confidential. I also like that Writer.com can provide me with actionable data and insights into tailoring my communications to fit my audience best.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

It cannot be my personal Co-Pilot like ChatGPT. I feel like Writer is best used for specific situations. ChatGPT is more universally useful.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me create copy for my social media needs.

  ### 3. An expansively helpful resource

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Overall, I think Writer is an excellent tool to craft optimized, engaging, and comprehensive content . The readability and grammar check function has helped even my most stream-of-conciousness writing go from convoluted to clear.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I will admit, the user experience was not super easy to navigate at first. While I felt as though the beginning step-by-step tutorial did a good job of setting you up with the basics, I still found myself having to flounder about to explore more of Writer's functions. In fact, I'm still not sure that I know how to utilize them all.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The idea generation, readability checks, and grammar checks are a massive help to me, especially when an article is needed with quick turnaround.

  ### 4. Great time saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Candice L. | Campaign Lead for Recovery Services at Agility Recovery, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I use it to write marketing emails based on longer form content I've published, as well as converting webinars into blog posts or articles. Super easy to use, no matter your experience with AI platforms.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Need to be sure to fact check, even when accurate sources are used.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to produce more content in less time and get great subject line ideas.

  ### 5. Good interface, good results

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I like how they've designed the interface, and while the tech ultimately does the same thing regardless of which template you use, the templates are good way to guide you through using the product.

I also like that you can have recordings and pdfs summarized, which is new.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

It can be a bit buggy and I often find myself having to restart the platform to make new requests within the same template. Also while the output is pretty good, it's not great. A lot of the content is generic.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summarizing articles, long webinars or transcripts, reports, and grammar (brevity to be specific).

  ### 6. Writer helps me work faster and better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mira J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

It's like having an employee who is better than I am a copywriting and generating a decent rough draft of text that I can then go in and personalize

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

For my subject, Yoga, it often generates common and cliche ideas that one could find anywhere in the net.

I also would like it better if it had a YouTube video description template.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to not waste time trying to do task that I'm not good at

  ### 7. Writer is so fun to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Writer is the writing buddy I don't have. I work by myself, so many time I wish I had a human to ask if there are different ways to say something. I love algie it saves everything. It's very searchable. I can be pretty messy, and I am still not sure how I'm ultimately going to set up writer to use. Right now, I still have pages and pages of blurbs.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Nothing I can think of at the moment can I get back to you

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thinking of other ways to say things, drafts saving, searchable copy database

  ### 8. Great AI for small teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I like that Writer is an evolving platform, constantly improving its offerings. It's really useful for writing up blogs - even more technical ones - and I especially like the ability to generate recaps from webinars and podcasts. I hope to explore the product-specific offerings more soon.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

There is definitely a learning curve to using Writer; it could be more intuitive, but seems to be improving.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need to write blogs on heavily technical topics with a limited staff

  ### 9. Best AI content service, fast and reliable!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

It is reliable and easy to replace any wording needed.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Might be too robotic at some points. It sometimes does not detect all words and that generates an issue when submitting the document.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving automation responses for my business and it benefits me in my customer service department.

  ### 10. Writer for Generative AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Templates for more flexibility when creating work

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Not as much brand recognition as other generative AI

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating text for lessons based on detailed outlines

  ### 11. Good tool, easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Automatic edits for branded terms & suggestions to make sentences less complex. Setting customized guidelines for the team is easy to do. Plugins are great, especially for Chrome - ensures more use by team.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Generative text options aren't as creative or nuanced as ChatGPT, but they do seem to be improving it.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-saving with editing was the primary need for my role. It helps ensure brand adherence with published content & easier reading on complex subjects.

  ### 12. Writer helps me be a better, well, writer.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I really like all the integrations Writer has!

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I wish the desktop app allowed you to select text by highlighting it instead of selecting a box around the text. Sometimes, I have text that spans multiple pages.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writer helps me when I'm in a creative rut. Writer also helps me keep my writing at an appropriate grade level.

  ### 13. Writer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

We have enjoyed using Writer as part of our design process. It has been beneficial not only for spelling and grammar checks but also for refining tooltip and error message language.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

The writer appears to be more appropriate for a marketing team at the moment.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writer helps me refine language for tooltips and error messages. It also helps generate different language options.

  ### 14. Saves time on generating content ideas

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Writer allows me to have my work reviewed and identify areas for improvement more easily. The ability to generate blog outlines and social posts saves me a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I wish the recommendation to fix confusing or long sentences were more robust

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves me time on generating content so I can focus on higher value tasks

  ### 15. The Good and the Bad about Features

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I appreciate the fact that Writer allows you to rearrange the headlines, whereas with other AI tools like ChatGPT, this feature isn't available. Additionally, I find it valuable how you can include statistics using Writer's feature.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I feel that headlines are often limited. For instance, if you attempt to generate new headlines after a few tries, you may find that they tend to cycle back to the same ones. This can give the impression of a limited variety

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writer can sometimes contain excessive wordiness and unnecessary fluff in the written material.

**Official Response from Support:**

The most helpful aspect of Writer is the inclusivity option. I've come across no other AI tool this good at ensuring inclusive communication.

It has really great AI features which would help you.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to draft many articles and writer helps me in doing that. I love the AI features it offers.

  ### 20. Great tool for distributed crew of content creators

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jon z. | Writer, editor, communications strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

In many organizations, there's a small team of full-time content creators and a much larger group of people who create content as part of their role. Qordoba helps extend the expertise of the content professionals to guide the larger team to produce higher-quality content in a consistent voice.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Some style rules only require a click to create. But others need help from Qordoba to implement.

**Recommendations to others considering WRITER:**

Test drive is pretty easy to set up and check if it will help in your situation.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The way the functionality is presented helps sidestep questions about "Oh, yeah -- well who says your team gets to decide whether we use serial commas or not?" Overall, it seems best for those teams aiming to improve their overall writing quality (from "sloppy and scattered" to "clear and aligned"). It feels best suited for those aiming to raise their score from, say, a 60% to an 85%, rather than those seeking a high level of polish that would take them from a 95% to a 99%.

  ### 21. Powerful part of our content strategy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Qordoba is not a generic style guide. On top of standard spelling, grammar and usage checks, Qordoba lets us add the custom rules of our brands' particular style decisions, word choices, inclusivity guidance, etc. to fit our customer experience. And with ML it gets even more valuable over time.

It's flexible and scalable. You can use while writing anything in Google or go deep and integrate it with GitHub to check product UI text strings. It has an extended ecosystem of plug-ins into design apps and content translation. It's useful for our non-writers and expert pro's alike.

The support from Qordoba is super responsive. They act on suggestions and requests like partners who are invested in our success.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Qordoba does rely to on machine learning for some features. A strength in my view because it does allow that customization. As with any ML feature, you have some ramp up time teaching it what to do and what not do. This isn't at all particular to Qordoba, just something to prep the teams for. Qordoba made it easy for us to train, though, with options in the interface that's familiar, like traditional language checkers.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Qordoba is a key to our content strategy. Much more than a writing assistant (But you can use it as a small, lightweight tool if you prefer). We're using the language checkers to improve the quality, consistency and readability of content created across a lot siloed teams.

We're also integrating it into our product development process to empower our content designers to own and deliver UI content. So often we had developers write content on the fly and misspell our product name (among other things!). Or we had outdated content that would require engineering to update, taking forever. Qordoba solves it with a single, easy-to-use interface onto our Git repos. It gives our content designers what they need to do their work, and quickly publish improvements in the product experience. As a content strategist, I've waited a long time for a product like this!

  ### 22. Twitter Content Strategy: Scaling Our Practice with Qordoba

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Qordoba enables us to get better control of our product content through things like a streamlined editorial workflow, access to metrics that help us gauge content success, simple inventory and audits, metadata that facilitates content reuse, the capability to publish our style guide on beautifully formatted web pages, and better collaborations with our stakeholders.

In terms of better collaborations with stakeholders, our engineers love Qordoba because it allows us to separate the content layer from the app layer, meaning developers no longer have to copy and paste our words into their code–Qordoba integrates seamlessly with Twitter’s proprietary strings management platform.

Our designers love Qordoba because they can use the Chrome browser extension and Google docs add-on to check their writing against our style standards to create sturdy first drafts in their prototypes. (The Qordoba plugins function like Grammarly, but with suggestions coming directly from our Product Writing Style guide.)

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

The Figma plugin isn’t yet available, but I know it’s on the Qordoba roadmap. I look forward to implementing this when it’s available to further streamline our workflow.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s challenging to write and ship great content products at Twitter today. There are a number of reasons this is the case.

* Our institutional knowledge is stored with a few content strategists, and hand-off for continuity is time consuming.
* There’s no single-source of truth for copy, so it’s hard to keep tabs on overall quality, version control, and things like that.
* We use multiples tools to create, review, and publish content, so it’s hard to keep track of where we are in the process and to find and retrieve historical work.
* There are multiple languages we need to support, which makes things even more challenging.
* In many instances, it takes a lot of tedious dev time to put strings into production, and to make updates to existing strings.
* The content strategists who are responsible for copy have a hard time knowing what words are in the product at any given time, making it difficult for them to improve or reuse existing content strings

Here are some of the ways Qordoba is helping us scale our content practice at Twitter.

*Streamlined content authoring, revision, optimization, and publishing processes
* Improved content quality/consistency
* Tailored content experiences to user segments
* Streamlined localization processes
* Content preservation for legal/compliance purposes
* Easier collaboration with stakeholders, most notably, engineering

  ### 23. Helps my team stay consistent and polished

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Qordoba helps my team quickly get content publication-ready. It's very customizable and useful beyond basic grammar and spelling checks. We're able to use it to ensure punctuation/formatting consistency, naming consistency (we use a lot of proprietary terminology that can be tricky to get right) , PII compliance, to check for readability, etc.

The extensions are great - they seem to work well across all the websites/tools I normally use.

The team has also been really responsive and receptive to feedback.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

No major complaints so far. It would have been nice to have a longer trial period, as I wanted several colleagues to have chance to dig in and get their own style guides set up.

At some point, I'd love to see a Firefox extension, but the Chrome and Google Docs ones work just fine for me right now.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Qordoba helps me focus on my writing, rather than thinking about punctuation and how to capitalize a specific term. Overall, I think it's helped improve quality of my content as well, since it checks for passive voice and wordy phrasing.

  ### 24. Excellent Tool for Creating Style Guides

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I think my favorite thing is that the sections for the various elements of style are so clear and precise. They are thought-provoking, in that you don't always consider the relevance of where a comma is used or the capitalization of a word - until it becomes an issue. So helpful!

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Having the style guide in the program itself can make it hard to access when needed. But that also means it's available to everyone from anywhere, so with remote workers, that can be really beneficial.

**Recommendations to others considering WRITER:**

Look around the site, check out the supporting features. It's not just the product, but the people behind the product that make it so helpful.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's really helped me with sorting through tone and style for my own purposes, as well as for my company. My company didn't have a style guide before I arrived, so this app has been really helpful for clarifying the points I want to make. And their webinars are fantastic!

  ### 25. Great product for improving writing across the team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

- Customizing our own terminology, common mistakes, and banned terms.
- Creating a styleguide where we can centralize messaging, phrasing, writing style, and brand voice guidelines.
- The extensions (Chrome, Word, Google Docs) have been mostly how we've used it but there are people on the team who use the web app, which is easy to use.
- Great customer support; heard that consistently from those in the company who have adopted it. Obviously important to me as I championed bringing on a tool.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

- There's a bit of set up to get your word lists in there, customize your editorial style and get common mistakes set up, or else it's similar to other tools (but worth it in my opinion).
- Their web editor removes formatting, which I've heard from some team members has been annoying. Formatting is well preserved in GDocs, Word, and via the Chrome extension though.

**Recommendations to others considering WRITER:**

- If you need to improve your writing and others and have specific ideas about how to do that, Qordoba is the product for you.
- Take them up on their user onboarding sessions for your users; no matter how easy it looks, it will improve adoption if your users get the personal touch

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We have many people who write across the company, from proposals in business development to marketing to the comms team, and there's a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds on the team. It's nice to have a singular way of sounding to the market, and polish up things that don't sound as fluent or clear.
- Definitely feeling the benefit of my colleagues being less wordy in emails and proposals, less formal and more direct. I'm the content control freak on the team so this stuff matters to me.
- Seeing writing get better for another reason: I got to customize a lot of the messages in the error cards, so users get our brand voice / writing guidelines re-enforced as they engage with correcting their errors.

  ### 26. The start of a great writing tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

Qordoba offers an easy-to-use interface for editing text in the browser. For example, went beyond just spotting incorrect grammar to making suggestions like avoiding jargon or passive voice. Qordoba made it easier to simplify a blog post and dramatically increased the quality of the final result.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

I wish it were easier to suggest fixes for complicated problems rather than just flagging them.

**Recommendations to others considering WRITER:**

Easier to use if you already have a clearly established brand voice guideline.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to improve and simplify my writing style to make it easier to consume. Qordoba really highlights when I use long and complicated sentences.

  ### 27. Great team, great to work with.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

The team's been great to work with, responsive, very technically sharp, considerate of my challenges. I've watched them grow over several years of development - continuous improvements in the system's features.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Feature growth has been pretty consistent over the last few years. It can be a bit hard to keep up with new capabilities.

**Recommendations to others considering WRITER:**

Spend time as needed with the engineering team - they're willing to work with you to adapt to your needs. They're a growth org, so expect that you can influence the product going forward.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid string management - the ability to quickly get onboard with new products that we're managing has been huge. Easy to show progress and make the case for use internally.

  ### 28. Secure grammar check

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Midia K. | VP, Client Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about WRITER?**

I made the switch from Grammarly to Qordoba because of the customization feature. I can even use it at work because it is HIPAA compliant. Excellent tool for checking spelling, grammar errors, and terminology management.

**What do you dislike about WRITER?**

Price is a bit higher than the competition, but worth it.

**What problems is WRITER solving and how is that benefiting you?**
