The upsides are few. The only real one I can think of is it is decent in speed on mobile not anywhere near the lightning speeds they tout but it's ok. We have solved our checkout process that at least works properly on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pretty much everything. Let's start with theming. The two main themes were created by people who either have never visited an ecommerce store before or they simply want to ensure that they can recharge the clients every time they implement very very very basic functionality. These include:
1. No zoom on images
2. Images don't load by SSR
3. SCHEMA set up is missing a lot of information
4. Meta Descriptions and Titles need to be manually fixed all the time.
5. Filters on category pages don't work properly they need to be cusotmized (To use OR between options in the filter and AND between filters)
6. Out of stock management needs major customization.
7. Load times are not great and your Google Page Speed Insights score without heavy customization will be very low on mobile.
8. Almost no payment gateways work out of the box.
And the list goes on and on. It is not user friendly unless you are a seasoned VueJs developer and the community so far is very much a proprietary one where there is no marketplace for modules and very very few decent repositories that work OOTB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How the customer facing facade was develop, a super case for a network venture. Without a doubt I additionally like that vue was choosen as a structure. The approche vue retail facade takes, making a committed customer facing facade, is futureproof. As of now I just know from spryker that they have a switchable customer facing facade. With vue customer facing facade you can put essentially every internet business framework out of sight. This is awesome. This is an incredibly dynamic task that is attempting to institutionalize and push forward the PWA answer for online business. The vitality and enthusiasm is actually what this development needs, and will be a major player in the coming a long time as the entire web move to PWA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I detest is a few points of confinement about conceivable functionalities - current generation stores are straightforward and need od some critical functionalities for generally stores. This will changed when this item will grow up obviously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vue storefront is a perfect solution that you can use as PWA base for any e-commerce store. It is still in the very early beta stage, but it is much better to start a project if you have something instead of zero. The community is very active, and even if you start the project without knowledge in VueStorefront, they will help you. VueStorefront is offering training, and if needed white label developers who will involve and lead this project to success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well, there are not many things I dislike, new versions could come out faster, but I know how hard it is when versions mostly are based on community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is open source and easy to implement. Very powerful and uses minimal server resources. Easy to create and modify components since it is built with VueJS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is still buggy and has a long way to reach perfection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How the storefront was build up, a super example for a community project. For sure I also like that vue was choosen as a framework. The approche vue storefront takes, making a dedicated storefront, is futureproof. Currently I only know from spryker that they have a switchable storefront. With vue storefront you can put basically every ecommerce system in the background. This is awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently I can not tell about this. We yet only experimented with the vue storefront and for me, I found no real problem until now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that there are people with actual skills working on Vue Storefront instead of people who are rotten into what they are doing and doing everything a few years to slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The setup, which could be easier in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that this is an open source tool. It is, as advertised very fast and easy to use. It makes building ecommerce easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not all M functionalities covered. May seem overwhelming at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Vue storefront does a good job with being a good e-commerce site. I find it easy to order office supplies and find good vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that there’s certain vendors and items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is an extremely active project that is working to standardize and push forward the PWA solution for ecommerce. The energy and passion is exactly what this movement needs, and will be a big player in the coming years as the whole web move to PWA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's hard, not because of the design of the project, but just because this work is challenging in the best of circumstances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Best of all is that it's backend independent so for sure works on Magento which I'm currently using but will also work for other applications. For companies that provide eCommerce solutions it's also important that allows completely separate backend from frontend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike is some limits about possible functionalities - current production stores are very simple and lack od some important functionalities for most stores. This will changed when this product will grow up of course. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The speed and the pwa capabilities. The main advantages comes with Vue, and the vsf has a lot of the work done for my retailers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning process for my team, vsf being a new tech piece there are not really a lot of devs that can join a team, so I need to form them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the speed with which the pages load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not let me use jquery and other dependencies directly.
Since the syntax is new I have a little hard time getting used to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Speed of navigation is a new discovery for ecommerce.
The possibility of navigating in the metro for example is a real plus. We can now prepare our purchases during our time off in transpoxxrt for example.
No more native applications, we have a web application available which is updated without any action.
View StoreFront offers advantages over the Magento PWA for exemple:
- Resilience (Thanks to ElasticSearch)
- Possibility to change backend without changing Frontend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- The number of missing features such as catalog rules or basket rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
