# How quickly can monday.com automations and AI features use up a plan's AI credits?

I've been researching how quickly monday.com automations and AI features can use up a plan's AI credits, and monday's own help documentation sets it out. AI credits are the single unit for AI usage: an AI block uses 8 credits per action, a workflow with two AI blocks uses 16 credits per run, and the AI Notetaker uses 120 credits per hour. On a busy board where an AI block runs on every new item, that adds up quickly, which is why setting usage limits for users upfront is the habit recommended on G2 reviews. What works well is the visibility: the Credits tab shows usage for the current billing cycle split by feature, so admins can see exactly which capability is driving it and adjust before credits run low.

Across project management tools, credit-based pricing suits teams that use AI on a few high-value workflows, because the cost follows actual use. Ordinary automations are where people describe saving the most time, updating statuses and moving tasks through stages without anyone doing it by hand. Teams that put AI blocks on busy boards are the ones who watch the Credits tab most closely.

What I'd like to hear from admins:

Which feature turned out to use the most credits?

Do you set per-user limits, or watch the Credits tab?

Did you restructure any workflow to use fewer AI blocks?

How often do you check credit usage, monthly or only when it runs low?

Has anyone set different credit limits by team, say more for ops than marketing? Curious how people decided the split.
