**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

The support and training (Matt Hummert) and others on the team are what really matter.  We're able to know how to use the product(s) and find proper uses that generate revenue.  Being able to ask questions AT ANY TIME is key.  When new features are added, we learn how to use them and are able to put them into use.  This was a major factor in selecting Second Street over other competitors.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

Things tend to happen slowly.  I have some concern about positions being eliminated - similar to when the LAB website was eliminated - and then restored.  I understand the need to evaluate spending, but this is a concern.

**What problems is Upland Second Street solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating emails is getting easier with the new templates.  There are still a couple of bugs that need to be resolved, but the look of the emails has improved and users have more options to create.  Some recent improvements in sweepstakes have been valuable.  The security improvements have been appreciated and keep confidence high.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

Updatingy my review now that Second Street is part of Adestra. Things still work just as they should. 
We just completed our 11th annual "Best of" contest with nearly 200,000 votes, over 3000 entries and 300 winners. The entire contest went without a single hitch. The only problem we find is that sometimes people won't have their "link" but the way it's set up it takes me about ten seconds to send them their link. Out of 200K votes I had three that didn't get links. 

Their contest platform is very robust. We test it with hundreds of thousands of votes on a regular basis, and it always works. Their tech folks are also very responsive when needed, which thankfully isn't too often. We now use them for email as well, and have had great success with that. Their email system is very intuitive, and it's easy to train someone on the basics.

We use it on three separate properties on a daily basis. We also have it integrated with Mather Economics so we can track user behavior.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

The only thing I dislike is the inability to place ads inside of emails in a way similar to Ad Manager. You can place ads, but you cannot easily follow the progress with analytics.  We're using another vendor PowerInbox to fill those ads, but it would be nice to have it internal to Second Street

**What problems is Upland Second Street solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a contesting platform and they provide one of the best.  A very significant part of our annual revenue comes in through our annual Best of contest. And it's an honest contest, advertisers are never allowed to "buy" a win. That, and the ability of Second Street to minimize cheating has led to a contest that's hugely popular. Our entire county's population is around 225K people, and our last contest had 475K legitimate votes. Updating this two years down the road, they've made it easier than ever to ferret out contest "cheats".

The new page design tool is not as intuitive as I would like. Took me forever to figure out how to get the text where I wanted it and then you constantly have to switch between "preview" and the design tool to get the spacing right. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

Second Street is always improving and innovating to keep up with our needs and any trends in the industry. Julie is great and fields all our questions and requests and works to get them fulfilled. The Support team is quick and knowledgable and great to work with.

EASY to use, the designs look great, plus it just very effective to meeting KPIs for clients and fun to use for the consumers. And it very easy to add to any webpage.

The legacy platforms (like the one used for Nexstar's Basketball Madness) can be a bit daunting and tedious due to the level of detail required. The number of graphics that need to be created of all different sizes can be a bit tedious as well.

The coin of the digital realm is engagement and interaction. Second Street delivers this experience in spades. Our clients love the lead capture, our consumers love winning.

I manage and create sweepstakes, ballots, and quizzes for a daily newspaper and 4 weekly newspapers. Second Street is the 2nd vendor we have used in my tenure here and is clearly the best and most user-friendly. I would highly recommend their products and support team to any company!

there are so many things.  Second Street has hundreds of creative prograam options for our clients.  There is something that will fit almost anyone.  I also think that the opt-in is a great selling point for the programs.  I love the National Contests as well.

I haven't really found anyhting that i dislike about Second Street.  The management and staff are extremely helpful and always have been available to answer any questions or provide help.  the programs are easy to use and manage.  The ideas provided are endless.

With Second Street, we are able to provide our clients with exclusive programs that are both creative and effective in addition to providing opt-ins as a bonus to their advertising commitment.

I feel the platform is very easy to use.  It leads you step by step to set up a very engaging promotion.  Also, if you have any issues, the support team is excellent to work with. Our station sells many contests & giveaways and Second Street has been an awesome platform to get them set up.

I really don't have anything that I dislike about Second Street. I'm in the platform daily, either approving photos for our webpage, selecting weekly winners or setting up new promotions. I use contests, sweepstakes and photo galleries mostly.  Occasionaly, I use the interactive content.

It used to be really good, especially their ballots. But in the past couple of years, it has started to have issues that are making it problematic.

Horrible customer support, makes changes that aren't communicated or tested, has no idea what their customers need or want.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

Second Street has a good variety of products that work well to engage our audience. We're able to customize contests and emails to reflect our brand and the brand of the client while keeping the look and feel easy for our listeners. All contests are easily embedded on our website to maintain our station brand and keep listeners on our site. Second Street customer service is also fantastic! Their response time is fast and they are diligent about helping to solve any challenges and answer questions that we have.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

Although there is a nice variety of products for contesting, they all have the same look and feel. It would be nice if there were ways to customize the layout of a contest so they didn't appear quite so cookie-cutter.

**Recommendations to others considering Upland Second Street:**

If you have questions, ask. I also recommend attending the Second Street Summit in St. Louis! They offer a wealth of information from the "How?" to monetizing to tips and tricks. You couldn't ask for a better opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of this program and company!

We are using Second Street to connect with our listeners and to connect our listeners with a sponsor client through fun and interactive contesting.

The biggest benefit is the ease of use with the product. Both the front-end and back-end are very user friendly.

There are many different product offerings to choose from (contests, polls, ballot voting), to allow for specific tailoring to individual client needs and campaigns.  Easy to use is also a plus!

Previously I in this section I would have mentioned it'd be nice to allow for bulk imports of data for ballot voting...well, now that is possible, and it was very easy to use and very helpful!

With it's ease of use, dependability, great friendly customer service support, variety of capabilities, cost-ration, it's a win-win-win-win-win.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

I just finished a 10 category Best in Texas Reader's Choice Poll and the Second Sreet application made it so simple to structure and compile the data it was fun to do and will be a permanent part of my marketing toolbox. 

I set up the basic categories and allowed the reader nominated method to fill the contestants.  The set-up was simple and took a minimum of time.  The rest was done by my readers The reports are easy to download and provide plenty of data for sales leads. I must especially commend the Help staff, they make learning the system quick and easy too.  They call you back in a short time and walk you through the processes needed to make your project easy to get the results you want. 

Next, I'll try photo contests and sell sponsored usages to my clients.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

I have no fault with any part of the application. Everything worked as desired and produced the results I was looking for. I can not think of a downside, there's nothing to manually count, all the coting is tabulated, and getting a hard copy is no problem at all.

**What problems is Upland Second Street solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New leads were what I was looking for and I got an easy to just CVS file that I can send right to sales. I want businesses to feel connected to our magazine and the Best in Texas polling did just that. They now know what our readers think of the businesses and their competitors. This will be an annual feature and drive new ad business. Second Steet gives a small publisher new income sources in these difficult times.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

Second Street is very user friendly. And there is so much you can do within the system! It is so easy to jump in and set up a contest, design and send out an email or review and understand analytics. I appreciate that I don't need to understand coding or call on our Development Team when I need to do something!

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

I don't like that you can't delete anything. I certainly understand why it is set up the way it is, but we have quite a few tests setup within our system and I would just like to delete them and clean up our files rather than archive.

I highly recommend Second Street. I know we are barely scratching the surface of what the program can do but we are extremely happy with it. I learn something new every time I use it!

We're getting a better idea of what our readers like - and don't like. We're able to easily see who is engaging with our emails and contests. And, we finally moved our community choice awards to the Second Street platform. We went from 20,000 total votes last year to over 300,000 this year!

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

Second Street has been easy to implement across 7 divisions of our company, and we're able to use it for both earned editorial engagement, and for our branded content. The true intent was to grow our audience, and we've found it to be useful for audience development, reader engagement, and new revenue potential. Customer service has also been great in helping us to utilize the platform to it's fullest potential.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

There is potential for additional functionality improvements that would add to the user experience, but overall the platform operates as expected.

**Recommendations to others considering Upland Second Street:**

When considering the price, also consider the revenue you can generate from the platform. We generated more revenue in the first month than we'll spend on the platform for the next 3 months.

**What problems is Upland Second Street solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have generated an additional $35,000-$70,000 in monthly revenue utilizing the platform, and have also used Second Street to expedite audience development, where our acquisition costs are offset by the generated revenue.

Also, we are using the platform for better dynamic engagement with our readers, which was a more cumbersome process previously.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

I love that I can receive help on live chat, by email, or by zoom meeting. I can almost always get a live meeting the same day as my issue arises, and the support member walks me through until we have a solution. Everyone at Second Street is so nice to work with.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

We are a small business in a very small market, so sometimes I wish that their webinars would not make me compare and despair. Also, I find the promotions very hard to sell because the client cannot visualize what I am selling. Would love turnkey slides, similar to the ones in the webinars, but geared towards selling the promotion. The client needs to see every page of a promotion and what it could look like.

We are building our database and our clients' databases. Our readers love our promotions.

**What do you like best about Upland Second Street?**

Second Street has changed the way I use email for marketing campaigns. Second Street has great technology and is continuously expanding for what businesses in the media world need. We have gained a bigger email database now with Second Street and have streamlined many of our contests and giveaways through it's platform. Second Street also has AMAZING support staff that are always willing and able to help find solutions very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Upland Second Street?**

I don't have an answer. I truly like—almost—everything about Second Street. Sometimes it's email creation platform is a bit cumbersome because one has to create an email template and cannot change email settings on the email itself. I have to go to the template to change settings but it's very easy.

**Recommendations to others considering Upland Second Street:**

Go for it! It is worth it's weight in GOLD. We love Second Street and their team. The platform is great and if you get stuck the support team is there to help you along the way. YOU WILL NOT REGRET GETTING SECOND STREET!

It has helped us to completely improve all the digital marketing processes of our company due to the new functions it has, where it allows us to better manage the information contained and a wide range of options to achieve a better implementation of strategies that help us increase user interaction with our brand, thanks to this we can now include contests and promotions within our digital marketing strategies, obtaining quite impressive results, in addition its ease of use is something quite striking, since at At first it can be complex to use and the interface may be somewhat intimidating, but after using it I realized that it is not.

Some customizations are somewhat cumbersome to carry out, because they involve a great variety of tasks and additional configurations that must be carried out to guarantee that the desired campaign is actually carried out, so if you need an application that allows you to carry out the things quite quickly, this may not be the first choice they should make.

Mainly, I have been using it to innovate and improve my company's digital marketing processes, since I was researching and I realized that it had functions that allowed to complement and enhance my digital marketing campaigns, especially email marketing, which was very useful to reach more and more customers and thus achieve that my brand gained greater recognition among users.

To make sure I could get the ins & outs quickly of how we use it as well as tips my team may not know, I set up a call with a UX specialist, Alex. He walked me through a lot of information easily in a short period of time. I have a better understanding for our current processes as well as some new ideas based on what he showed me.

I would love to be able to duplicate contests easier through multiple sites, but have recently found a workaround for that as well. Nothing else particularly comes to mind at this point, but I've only been using the product for a little over a month.

Great customer service.  Great conference information. Great attempt to make a turnkey solution.

Not willing to take input from partners to improve the end user's experience.  No reply when asked difficult questions about the logic of their process. At the end of the day their national promotions generated very little activity and few responses. Turnkey, templated solutions looked cookie cutter with little flexibility for alternative design.

Give it a try and see if your audience responds well.  We still don't know why ours didn't.  We had several calls to customer service.  They responded well but no resolutions.

Trying to get our readers engaged with our advertiser's value propositions.  I didn't see any benefits.  The Second Street brand was so pervasive it became confusing for the advertiser and reader to know who was sponsoring or supplying the value.

We use Second Street for promotions, contests, and user-generated content. Second Street gives us the option of customizing content and adding our own spins. We use the user-generated photo galleries a lot, along with the voting brackets for contests. Our viewers find it easy to use, and we find the back end easy to use, as well.

The downside to Second Street is the landing page on the back end. It takes 2-3 clicks to get to contests we have already going on. It would be nice if, on log in, we could be re-directed to that page, since that is what we are looking for.

We were looking for an easy way to gather user-generated content, and be able to monitor it. Second Street allows us to do that. Once an hour, Second Street sends an email to alert us to any new content, which we can then go in and review before posting.

From their numerous promotional products to their customer service, they are truly one of the best partners to work with. They are always there when I have a question and are constantly willing to jump on a call with me to discuss the promotions at hand. The team on their back-end is just as helpful when I need extra coding put in or a contest copied to other stations. The benefits with Second Street really outweigh the problems. They've helped us work with clients who are asking for specifics and helped us find the solutions to make them happy. We've had numerous clients renew with us over the years because of how successful the promotions have been.

Second Street is simple, cohesive and everything we need for each of the contests and giveaways we create. The design for contest forms is simple but contains all the features you need. Setup is extremely easy to implement, and you can always go back to change something if you need to. When it's time to pick winners, Second Street will select them for you, so you don't even have to worry about the selection and time it could take to choose them. You can also track your progress and see how your contest did. Second Street is better than anything we have used before, and we will be using it from now on as far as we can tell.

I have just started using Second Street for the first time, and so far I have absolutely no complaints. I was worried about the contest process and how it all works at my job, but as soon as I was shown how to create contests with Second Street, it was almost second nature. Second Street makes the work easy and light, and takes care of the hard things! I'm sure I will have more to say, as far as advice or things I would like to see improved, the more I use Second Street, but for now I have only positive feedback! Great job!

We are able to easily create contests for our listeners and audiences, and one of the best things is that we can do so QUICKLY! Second Street is meeting our needs that we didn't even know we had, and I think that says a lot about their company and their way of thinking forward.

Even adding required Lead-generating questions offers little objection to participants. The end result of sales leads has provided great opportunity to our client partners.

Very little downside to the entire program. Perhaps there are some features on the original version which could be transferred, such as  a tournament bracket or pick 'em, but if you need easy entry, then the current services are quite adequate

The custom questions don't have a reset on the data collected unless you put it on the first page of registration. So if we ask if you are interested in buying a car in the next 90 days. Unless that question is placed on the first page of registration it will show that you are interested in buying the next 90 days. Because the system is designed to remember answers which is amazing but being able to have the data expire would be helpful.
