# Can you request half-day PTO in Paylocity when requests are entered in hours?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I've been checking whether people can request a half day of PTO in <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/paylocity/reviews">Paylocity</a> when requests are entered in hours, and the answer on G2 is yes, as its hour equivalent: four hours on an eight-hour day, with some admins calculating the hours manually for exempt employees. Four hours on an eight-hour day is a clean way to define it, and hours really are the better unit for hourly teams where shift lengths vary. Since requests run through the self-service portal and mobile app straight to managers, a one-line note to salaried staff on what a half day equals in your organisation is probably all it takes to keep things consistent.
