Teammate knows internal audit. Their solution has been around for years and is purposed for internal audit first. I find TeamMate+ to be intuitive and customizable. It allows our team to configure the system with our organization’s taxonomy and offers intuitive customer-facing workflow options like report review, response tracking, and issue tracking. I find that the Teamstore is clunky, and there are certain quirks in rearranging the order of fields in the taxonomy. I would like more intuitive ways to search for and retrieve related objects, maybe with AI-enabled search functionality. Also, implementing drag and drop fields in the taxonomy instead of having to click the up or down button repeatedly until the multi-select option appears where I’d like it would be a big improvement. Using TM demands proper training and familiarization, even for experienced auditors. Future updates to the platform should prioritize making the design and layout more straightforward, which would enhance engagement and make it more accessible, especially for those who are new to auditing. What I like best about TeamMate+ is how it streamlines the entire audit process — from planning and risk assessment to fieldwork and reporting — all in one centralized platform. If I had to pick something, it would be that TeamMate+ has so many features that it can take a little time to fully explore and master them all. However, once you get comfortable with the layout and workflows, it becomes a powerful and efficient tool that really supports audit work from start to finish. I really like that TeamMate+ is easy to use and has many great features, although I feel my team hasn’t fully leveraged its potential yet. I especially like the dashboards, I can easily check the status of each control procedure, as well as other dashboards like certifications. What I dislike is that the dashboard doesn’t distinguish between L1, L2, or L2 review; it only shows “Reviewed – Accepted.” I would like to see a clearer indication of the approval level, either in writing or through color coding. TeamMate+ is very flexible and has a lot of features that can be used to support an Audit Department. It is not just workpaper storage. We use it for Time tracking and Issues Management and are gradually working on integrating TeamMate+ into our Risk Assessment process. Every application has drawbacks, TeamMate is no exception. For me, TeamMate's benefits outweigh its drawbacks. These include: user roles and groups can be very confusing and unfortunately to get access we need, we need to assign people multiple times to the same audit/project or Issue to get them the access they need. TeamMate+ is a powerful audit as well as internal control tool, that centralizes workflows, enhances collaboration, and ensures compliance. With this its ability to track Management Action Plans and observations in real time is particularly valuable for internal audit teams.

I appreciate TeamMate+ for focusing on making an auditor’s life easier, unlike some other key software that focuses heavily on Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC). The Record of Work Done (ROWD) is particularly valuable, as it affords us flexibility and the ability to format text and attach documents within the same window, allowing us to clearly see what has been done. This is vital for documenting the conclusion, formal steps, and control descriptions, ensuring compliance with the intended controls. I also like that TeamMate+ supports the quality of our work and helps us adhere to internal procedures and external standards. Moreover, the system provides multiple review levels, effective filters, a user-friendly web interface, and robust reporting capabilities, all of which streamline our audit operations. The ease of setup and low-maintenance requirement of about four hours per week for a large team enhances its appeal, alongside the on-premises version of TeamMate+ that fits seamlessly into our workflow without needing the cloud version. I think TeamMate+ should offer more customization in views/filters to reduce the manual filtering work required to isolate significant information. The current filtering system lacks advanced features, such as the ability to exclude specific variables or use complex logical queries, which would significantly enhance data handling. Moreover, the scheduling and resource management features feel somewhat underdeveloped, and the dashboards do not perform well, especially when handling multiple levels of review. The notification system is also not practical, as it alerts me inappropriately when I merely post a comment on a coaching note, making it more of a distraction than a help. I enjoy using TeamMate+ in its current application compared to the Citrix version, as it allows for more seamless entry of work with fewer issues related to losing work papers. This is a significant improvement because, in the Citrix version, work papers were often not saved or retained properly. I find the coaching notes feature particularly beneficial as it helps in reviewing and adding comments in precise locations, which was a challenge with previous versions. The ability to move smoothly through the review process of work papers from staff is another aspect I appreciate. Additionally, the expansion into AI functions, data analytics, and report writing makes TeamMate+ a more robust and comprehensive tool for auditors. These features collectively make it feel like a one-stop shop, potentially saving costs in other areas by integrating these capabilities within TeamMate+. I believe that the upcoming or recent integration of data analytics as an embedded feature is impressive and could significantly benefit our processes if adopted by my audit shop. I find that the layout of TeamMate+ can be a bit different and it takes some time to get used to compared to other layouts. Additionally, while the application offers many useful features, it seems that a lot of them are not utilized, which is unfortunate.
