Customization option for monitoring also can creating your own monitors.(PowerShell Scripting) 2. Detects and alerts the critical services which failed, space is low on storage at the logical or physical level, IP conflict and all. 3. Allows  to visualize our systems in a single interface and see the status of health as well as relevant performance metrics. 4. Can setup thresholds for alerts so you receive a warning before you receive a critical alert so you have time to avoid a system outage/issue 5. It is quite handy to use ping and remote compute commands from the SCOM console. 6. Reporting is powerful and flexible **What do you dislike about System Center Operations Manager?** Few are the dislike about the product or service are :- 1. Its real-time status updates are a bit slow. 2. Support for monitoring of Linux OS is not mature enough 3. Basic agents still don't work with all UNIX/Linux flavors 4. As SCOM helps us to monitor and manages the multiple windows system to make more effective decision before the system gores worst. Also as SCOM helps to write the power shell scripts which makes life more easier to make some automation jobs. like service restart and all. **What do you dislike about System Center Operations Manager?** Most dislike that I observe is when we are increasing monitoring agents performance is getting worst and some time delay in the alerts as well. **Recommendations to others considering System Center Operations Manager:** I would like to recommend this product for the organization where we have to monitor and manages the multiple windows server and take required action before it goes dead. **What problems is System Center Operations Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?** As we are monitoring around 30k windows server we are doing this through SCOM and for generate a required alert as expected. We have built the custom management packs as well to accommodate the required changes as per client request. and many more automation. ### 5. Monitor drive space, drive status, ILO connectivity and internet connectivity, memory, cpu usage, temps and more has a suite of tools to drill down into servers performance as well, and built in tools to mitigate issues from SCOM **What do you dislike about System Center Operations Manager?** UI is a little bit old, and the management side for setting up alerts is a little clunky **What problems is System Center Operations Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows prevention of outage for critical servers at remote locations by providing early detection ### 6. Very user-friendly User interface where we can collect heartbeat information, performance information in a single window **What do you dislike about System Center Operations Manager?** It consumes more SQL database space to store the monitoring and event information.
