Visit Website

SUSE Rancher is a complete Kubernetes management platform that simplifies how teams deploy, manage, and secure clusters across any infrastructure on-prem, in the cloud, or at the edge. It brings centralized authentication, policy enforcement, visibility, and tooling together in one place so platform teams can manage the full Kubernetes lifecycle without jumping between systems. You can run SUSE Rancher as a free community edition, or choose Rancher Prime for enterprise support and security, or Rancher Suite to combine Rancher with integrated observability, storage, and virtualization. Why teams use SUSE Rancher Cluster management that scales Manage all your Kubernetes clusters across different clouds, data centers, and even edge devices from one dashboard. Provision new clusters, apply global policies, and monitor everything from a central control plane. Works anywhere Rancher supports any certified Kubernetes distro. Use it with upstream Kubernetes, RKE2, EKS, AKS, GKE, K3s, or even vSphere. You get the same control and experience everywhere. Simple, secure app deployment Use Helm or the built-in SUSE Application Collection to deploy apps across one or many clusters. You can enforce consistent policies and get visibility into health and performance. What you get Centralized cluster lifecycle management Create, upgrade, scale, and delete clusters across environments with a few clicks or API calls. Automate Day 2 operations like backups, upgrades, and monitoring. Built-in authentication and access control Integrates with your identity provider (LDAP, AD, SAML, OIDC) and gives you fine-grained RBAC controls for all clusters. Policy and compliance management Use pre-built Kubewarden policies or write your own to enforce security and operational best practices across your fleet. Extensible platform Extend Rancher with your own tools or use community and partner-developed extensions. Easily add monitoring, logging, backup, and more through the UI. Enterprise support and ecosystem With Rancher Prime, you get access to SUSE’s private container registry, hardened images, long-term support, and expert services. Rancher Suite bundles this with enterprise observability, storage (Longhorn), and virtualization (KubeVirt-based). Who it’s for SUSE Rancher is for organizations running Kubernetes at scale. Whether you’re just getting started with containers or managing hundreds of clusters, Rancher helps platform teams simplify operations, secure infrastructure, and enable developer self-service without compromising visibility or control. Use the Community Edition to start for free, or step up to Rancher Prime or Rancher Suite for full enterprise-grade capabilities and support.

"StackState provides an awesome observability solution for dynamic and complex environments."

5/5

What do you like best about SUSE Rancher?

By combining all available data sources StackState is able to display the entire topology of the environment. Adding business data on top of that you can see the business impact of outages in the glimpse of an eye. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SUSE Rancher?

This is not necessarily StackState but it can be challenging to correlate data from within the enterprise due to difference in naming conventions etc. By implementing Stackstate it becomes painfully clear that it is important to have good goverance on resources to keep track of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SUSE Rancher:

Do a PoC early on, to see the value it provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SUSE Rancher solving and how is that benefiting you?

Where many monitoring solutions focus on just telemetry StackState provides a full observability solution by combining data such as CMD data, monitoring data and trace data to build a full topology and health overview of the environment.

Relating business impact to IT incidents can be challenging. StackState helps to show the real impact of an outtage making it easier to prioritize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple monitoring of containerization process"

4.5/5

What do you like best about SUSE Rancher?

RBAC simple management is one of the best upsides in rancher, attaching rancher post creation process to manage RBAC, ingress and get simple UI overview of what is going on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SUSE Rancher?

It's some how intrusive in the communication between the contol plane and the nodes, it could be better to how to connect more with these specific parts so I can manage fully from my UI setup Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SUSE Rancher solving and how is that benefiting you?

As I said before how the interface rancher providing is simple and straight to the point, simply it make the whole RBAC management more easier and of course it saved me a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great insight into complex application landscapes"

5/5

What do you like best about SUSE Rancher?

Using the standard StackPack integrations it's very easy to gain insight into your (hybrid) application landscape easily. At the same time, adding custom content is also quite easy to do and will add value quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SUSE Rancher?

Observability in itself is complex, abstract concept and can expose problems that "weren't there before". Managing this to stakeholders can be tricky sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SUSE Rancher:

Just try it with one or more of the StackPacks available out of the box. This will get you results in a couple of hours. And don't hesitate to contact them if your main system doesn't have an integration. They are willing to help out with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SUSE Rancher solving and how is that benefiting you?

Gaining insight into areas that other teams manage, will help in understanding each other better and solving incidents faster. Searching for problems in the wrong area because there is no overview of where an incident is coming from is significantly decreased. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpfull insights for better services"

4.5/5

What do you like best about SUSE Rancher?

Insights over our services and customers (different services) in one view, roadmap alignment, direct communication and relationship with StackState. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SUSE Rancher?

Although the functionality is good and features getting added every release, is the performance our biggest issue, due to the large number of objects we want to have in StackState. But this is getting better with every release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SUSE Rancher solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our problem was no insights over services and customers as a whole (only on components) and therefore difficult to do root cause analysis. With the implementation of StackState we both got insights over the whole stack/service in one view with dependencies, and automatic root cause analysis resulting in faster and better incident solving. Next step is to use StackState for automatic detection problems (AAD) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful in managing Kubernetes clusters"

5/5

What do you like best about SUSE Rancher?

Rancher is a place where we can manage our Kubernetes clusters. It provides one platform where we can see all the clusters, nodes and their configurations and navigate through various namespaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SUSE Rancher?

Nothing. It is a useful platform that our team uses everyday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SUSE Rancher solving and how is that benefiting you?

Anytime that one of our applications is down, we can directly go to the rancher and troubleshoot it. We can scale up or down manually without using commands and view configurations such as the node scheduling, scaling policy and the YAML of the manifest files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
