## Portainer Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Dockers Management with Portainer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shreejal M. | Full-stack Developer, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I use Portainer to manage all my Docker containers and deploy code, which solves the problem of not having to ssh into a remote server and use commands to deploy everything, which was very finicky. I like that everything you can do in Docker, you can do in Portainer. I also appreciate the GitHub Actions integration. Portainer has a webhooks feature that automatically redeploys code when the webhook is called, so I build my Docker images in GitHub Actions, push to a registry, and then call the Portainer webhook, which then deploys my latest code. The initial setup was very easy, and overall, everything is great.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

N/A

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer eliminates the need to SSH into a remote server to deploy code, solving the finicky process of using commands and streamlining my workflow with automatic redeployment of code via webhooks.

  ### 2. A Huge Help for Organizing Docker and K8s

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer has been incredibly helpful for keeping my containers, stacks, and networks organized. It saves me time by bringing all the important details together in one place, so it’s easier to manage everything at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

What I dislike most about Portainer is that some of the more advanced Kubernetes features feel a bit limited compared to what you can do directly with kubectl or other dashboards. It handles the basics well, but once you’re dealing with more complex manifests or CRDs, you start to run into cases where the UI can’t quite keep up. At that point, I end up having to fall back to the CLI anyway.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer addresses the problem of scattered, hard-to-track container environments by giving me one central place to manage everything. Rather than bouncing between CLI commands, remote hosts, and multiple dashboards, I can view my containers, stacks, networks, and logs in a single, clean interface. It saves me time, helps cut down on mistakes, and makes it much easier to understand what’s actually running across my systems.

  ### 3. Effortless Management of Containerised Applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I use Portainer for hosting over 20 containerized applications and it provides a simple yet intuitive user interface for managing these applications easily. I like how easy it lets me manage every aspect of my containerized applications, including managing their lifecycle, their images, networks, and storage. The application templates are useful. The initial setup couldn't be easier, taking just one command to install, and it just worked. I could start deploying applications in minutes. Once I switched to Portainer (Business Edition), updating became much simpler.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The application templates are useful. I wish there are more of them available.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer provides an intuitive UI for managing over 20 containerized applications easily, helping me oversee lifecycle, images, networks, and storage.

  ### 4. Seamless, User-Friendly, and Perfect for Homelabs

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I use Portainer for my homelab and school projects, self-hosting open-source tools for free access. It allows me to manage everything faster and set up containers, networks, and volumes extremely fast. I love that it's free, open-source, and has an easy-to-use interface with amazing performance. Portainer even offers a 1-year premium license for small home users to test its capabilities. It's very easy to use and quick to set up and learn, which gives me confidence in trusting the software since I can know every line of code. The initial setup was extremely easy, and I fell in love with Portainer as soon as I installed it after a recommendation from a friend.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

-

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer helps me manage everything faster, setting up containers, networks, and volumes extremely fast. It's free, open-source, easy to use, quick to set up, and I trust it because I can see every line of code.

  ### 5. Portainer Makes Docker Management Intuitive with a Clean Visual Interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moses L. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

If you are someone who appreciates visual interfaces (and not as comfortable with CLI), portainer is an excellent way to view and manage your docker containers, images and volumes.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

It is easy to get up and running quickly and everything is very intuitive. Even a novice with docker can figure out how to manage their stack.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me manage my docker instances and images, keeping clutter to a minimum and gives me the ability to start/stop/delete containers, even from my smartphone or any web browser.

  ### 6. Portainer Simplifies Docker Compose Stack Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff L. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer greatly simplifies managing Docker Compose stacks, which lets us spend less time on administration and more time focusing on revenue-generating activities.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Portainer Business Edition makes configuration backups straightforward, but it doesn’t provide any way to back up Docker volumes. For my business, those volumes are essential for business continuity, so this is a significant gap.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While most of my business’s workloads run in the cloud, we still need to keep some workloads on-premises. Portainer makes managing and running those on-prem workloads much easier.

  ### 7. Portainer: Easy UI, Effortless Container Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle D.

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I use Portainer to manage the assortment of containers on my home server. I love the easy-to-use UI, which makes managing my containers as easy as pie. Portainer has put a lot of thought into this, allowing for efficient management. The dashboard clearly displays all containers and provides the necessary information at a glance, making it simple to assess the health of my containers and determine if any actions are needed. The setup was also straightforward, thanks to the clear documentation.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I feel like the provision of container logs could use updating. I have found myself using Dozzle in order to monitor the logs. That is the only feature I think could be improved.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Portainer to manage my home server containers. It's a unified control panel that provides health status and updates of my containers. The easy-to-use UI streamlines container management, showing all necessary information at a glance, making it efficient to determine required actions.

  ### 8. Super Easy Stack Deployments with a Clear Overview

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Deploying stacks/containers is super easy, managing the storage volumes, networks, it's just super easy: clear overview.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

so far, there's not a lot.
The only thing I would like to have improved are the notifications upon a failed deploy. It would probably be better to show the failure notification on the top of the page, instead of the temporary notification.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is making it a lot easier to deploy and manage containerized applications, without the need of knowing all of the CLI commands.

  ### 9. Visually Intuitive Management with Portainer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amer H. | Managing Director

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I use Portainer for managing my server and Docker installations, and I really appreciate being able to handle things visually with an intuitive GUI. It's quick to deploy and everything is clearly organized, which is important to me. The GUI is not only visually appealing but also functional, allowing me to edit code and organize deployments or stacks without having to use the CLI. I find it makes managing Kubernetes and Docker clusters really easy. The initial setup was also very easy, especially with a good tutorial I found on YouTube.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Sometimes the shell editor doesn't work. It might be an issue with the VPS, but sometimes it doesn't load, and I can't get into the container.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer's GUI lets me manage and organize server and Docker installations visually, avoiding CLI. It's intuitive and quick to deploy, simplifying Kubernetes and Docker cluster management.

  ### 10. Fast and intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio N. | Architect and Senior Developer Front End Angular, Architecture & Planning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is the perfect tool for using both docker and kuberneters, it is fast and intuitive and allows you to act easily on everything.
Whether they are images or containers, you have all the tools for management, analysis and maintenance.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

There is nothing I don't like about Portainer

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer solved the problems we had for managing our containers on servers that we used to do by hand. While now through Portainer we have complete management without necessarily having to connect to the server

  ### 11. Intuitive management and seamless Docker integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I find Portainer clear and appreciate that it simplifies the administration of Docker containers. I particularly like the intuitive operation and the fact that all configurations are secured. The ability to see all updates is also very useful. I think the free business license for three instances is pretty cool. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy thanks to the good documentation, including password reset.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I would like to have a way to delete logs directly in Portainer, as I often no longer need them. Currently, I have to do this manually via the command line.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer simplifies the administration of Docker containers, displays all configurations and updates, and is clear and intuitive. It secures the configurations, which I particularly like.

  ### 12. Portainer simplifies docker management and boosts productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rudolf B. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer makes monitoring and managing docker containers and docker compose stacks MUCH easier. Re-creating docker containers with small modifications from the original, without having to remember the exact command that started it in the first place, is a big productivity win.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

There are no downsides, only things that I wish it could do, that it does not. The one thing I would like to see is some kind of scheduler, to schedule jobs like restarting a container. But it's not a problem to run another service alongside Portainer to handle that.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A common problem with managing docker containers is remembering exactly how a container was started. Portainer shows every possible detail about a container, and allows you to recreate a container while modifying only some of those details, without having to remember all of them.

  ### 13. Effortless Docker Management with Portainer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve H.

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I appreciate how Portainer simplifies container management, especially in terms of updating containers with its straightforward, single-click process to see if a container has an update available. This efficiency in container updates stands out compared to other platforms like Synology Container Manager, which I found unreliable in this respect. I also enjoy the ease of spinning up test containers with a compose file to try out new software, as Portainer effectively makes Docker more accessible without the need for becoming an expert. The initial setup is impressively straightforward, as I barely had to configure anything when using the compose file to get it running for the first time. Portainer has proven to be the best tool compared to others I experimented with, such as Synology Container Manager, CasaOS, Yacht, and LazyDocker, solidifying itself as my preferred choice. I would highly recommend it to anyone with needs similar to mine, showcasing an overall optimal user experience for simple requirements.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I wish Portainer could manage the YAML used to install itself, as it feels awkward for it to be limited in the UI when installed via YAML from the CLI. While I understand it can't self-install, it feels like a second-class citizen. Additionally, I find the lack of built-in support for Tailscale in both the primary and agent installs to be a drawback. This feature would simplify connecting remote Docker installations to the primary Portainer via Tailscale, which I found to be complex and forced me to make compromises I didn't want to make and intend to try to resolve in the future.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Portainer to simplify managing Docker installations, making container updates and resource tracking easy. It allows me to efficiently test software without needing deep Docker expertise, enhancing my productivity for utility and testing needs.

  ### 14. Portainer has simplified container management, backup and restore, and has helped improve my skills.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bharath D. | Technical Consultant, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer makes container management incredibly straightforward. The UI is clean and intuitive, which saves a lot of time compared to manually managing Docker or Kubernetes through CLI. It’s easy to deploy and we use it frequently for day-to-day container tasks. Setting up environments, managing stacks, and monitoring resource usage feels effortless. The role-based access control and team management features are also very handy in a collaborative setup.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Occasionally, some features aren’t immediately obvious, and the interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first. Otherwise, it works smoothly for day-to-day container management.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer helps us simplify container management across multiple environments. Instead of spending hours on CLI commands and YAML files, we can quickly deploy, monitor, and manage workloads with a few clicks. This reduces operational overhead and allows developers to focus more on building features rather than worrying about infrastructure.

  ### 15. Intuitive UI, Streamlines Container Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sterling H.

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I am thrilled with Portainer's ease of use and the significant improvements from the new business edition, which have enhanced its functionality tenfold, making it indispensable. The initial setup process was incredibly straightforward, particularly with the quick Docker run command, allowing me to manage my containers seamlessly. Portainer's user interface is user-friendly and visually appealing, which facilitates managing and customizing my containers effortlessly. Unlike before, it enables me to quickly assess which containers are running, stopped, or experiencing issues, thus streamlining my container management tasks and recognizing problems faster than using Docker's command line tools alone. Furthermore, the stack feature stands out for its capability to deploy containers swiftly using a Docker Compose template, significantly accelerating my workflow. The continued updates and evident value the team places on Portainer, reflected in the ongoing integration of useful features, reinforce its reliability and efficiency, making it an excellent tool deserving of high praise.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Creating a container directly from the container section is time-consuming. I find creating a container from this section takes forever and wish for a quicker process similar to using a stack with a compose file, even if it is is a compose file for a single app/service.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Portainer to easily manage and monitor my Docker containers, providing a quick visual overview and enabling swift issue resolution. The user-friendly interface enhances my efficiency in container management.

  ### 16. Makes container management so much easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer has been really helpful for me to manage Docker without always relying on the command line. The web interface is clean and easy to understand, and it saves me time when deploying or checking containers. I also like that I can see logs and stats in one place. Overall, it simplified my workflow a lot and gave me more confidence working with containers.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I would like Portainer to offer an easier way to manage and save Docker volumes separately. Having a built-in option to back them up or move them between different installations would make migrations and restores much simpler.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer helps me manage different self-hosted solutions running on the same server. Instead of juggling everything from the command line, I can easily deploy, monitor, and update containers from a single dashboard. This saves me time, keeps things organized, and makes it much easier to run multiple apps side by side without issues.

  ### 17. Best way to deploy containers

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me save time in container deployment, it is very easy to use.

  ### 18. Must have for Docker container management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tushar G. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The best thing about Portainer is the vast amount of data available for your containers in a easy to understand format. You can check if your containers are running, view logs, start, stop, check if your images are up to date or not from the Portainer dashboard. It makes my life so simple. The interface is very good. You can connect multiple docker hosts to a single Portainer instance and manage all your containers from one place.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I wish there should be way to keep backups of my docker compose files from the Portainer interface itself.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes managing my containers very easy. Without Portainer i would be going to the terminal and checking each container one by one and that too i need to log to multiple machines since I have many docker hosts, Portainer solves this by having all the data available at a single place. It saves me a lot of time.

  ### 19. Simplifies Docker Management Exceptionally

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia S.

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I really like the simplicity of using Portainer, the amount of data it displays, and the way it manages containers and stacks. It provides all the features available in Docker Compose with a graphical interface and permission support. The initial setup was very easy, taking us about an hour.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

File path handling could be more efficient - currently there're problems with input like ./dev/abc.conf:/etc/abc/config.conf:ro.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Portainer for visualizing Docker data and managing everything in one place. It handles permissions and groups with OAuth, offers features of Docker Compose in a graphical interface, and makes managing containers and stacks simple.

  ### 21. Great for Managing Services, Stacks, Registries, and Containers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georgios M. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

managing services, stacks, registries, containers etc.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

not many templates, cannot manage kubernetes, only swarm.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

manage swarm, containers, services and also adding apps from templates.

  ### 22. Being new to Docker, Portainer helped me get started and learn things i found confusing before

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The Most helpful thing about Portainer for me personally is that it integrated Docker.io and made it really simple to get new containers started without much of a hassle. I used Portainer daily for the last year and never had any problems with customer support or anyone else.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The thing I found I disliked most about Portainer was the Installation Process, Being quite new to Linux, I found their installation guide quite confusing and wished they just had a script to install Portainer. Its not that big of a deal though since you only go through the Installation Process once.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer has helped me learn Docker in a way I understood while making sure I didnt take down half my IT not knowing what I was doing

  ### 23. Easy to use & simple for beginners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The ability to visualise containers, networks and volumes running on your system is the best feature for me. To easily restart or delete containers, networks etc. makes management so much easier as you do not need to SSH into servers to perform such actions. This also allows for our staff to be able to operate actions on our running containers with fine-tuned permission management to block them from performing dangerous actions on important containers. To be able to do it all from a website makes it much easier too.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The documentation for integrating external environments not running on the current system, I personally found, is quite limited and I really struggled to implement external environments.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to easily view running containers and it's logs making it more efficient. It also highly simplifies creating and managing the containers which is perfect for beginners. It allows our team to launch new services for our company much quicker giving us high efficiency.

  ### 24. Effortless Management of Multiple Stacks and Docker Containers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I appreciate the ability to manage multiple Stacks and Docker Containers. This feature makes it much easier to organize and control different environments efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I would appreciate having more comprehensive log management available for each container.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses the issue of having just a single VM, allowing me to easily manage all my stacks and containers.

  ### 25. Best Docker GUI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dovydas J. | Student messing around with docker and self hosting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I like how portainer is easy to use and it has helped me learn a lot about docker. All of the most needed features are easily accessible. I also like how if you claim the 3 node or less business edition, you can use OAuth2, which is very useful for me.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Sometimes using docker compose can make issues if let's say you need to mount files / folders but they aren't created yet, you have to specify a whole path after making them (e.g. a data directory)

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer easily let's me manage containers: starting, stopping and checking the logs, as well as creating / running different containers.

  ### 26. A good platform to manage Docker

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco B. | Cybersecurity Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is very useful for me to manage all the various containers and stacks I have on Docker through a simple and intuitive GUI, thus speeding up the process of creating and troubleshooting containers.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

One element that I think should be implemented is a clearer debugging system when going to run a new stack, because notifications now appear that are not always easy to read.
On the security side, on the other hand, it would be useful to be able to have MFA for internal access with username and password as well, without having to resort to SSO systems such as oAuth or LDAP.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is helping me a lot with the management of containers that I use for essential services for my work. This greatly simplifies processes that I used to do by hand

  ### 27. The best tool for Docker containers management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barnabé H. | DevOps, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer has an easy-to-understand UI, goes (most of the point) straight to the point and allow a complete integration of Docker.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Managing volumes is sometime complicated. You can't see easily to what containers a volume is linked to, for instance.
Also, a few bugs can sometimes occur.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It may be time-consuming to check if an image has any updates, and if so, updating the associated containers. Portainer allow a very effective way to update containers and images in just a few clicks

  ### 28. Docker with ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Alternative Dispute Resolution | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer made my first steps with Docker much easier. Coming in with no prior Docker knowledge, I was able to get started quickly thanks to its intuitive interface.

What I appreciate most is the ability to manage containers through a simple UI instead of relying solely on the command line. This lowered the learning curve significantly and gave me the confidence to explore more advanced Docker concepts at my own pace.

Overall, Portainer is a great tool for beginners like me and also provides powerful management features that can support more experienced users.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

sometimes crashes on my server with no reason

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Containers management

  ### 29. Versatile Interface with Powerful Options, Slightly Overwhelming at First

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I appreciate the interface and how it accommodates both simple and advanced setups. It's user-friendly whether you're looking for basic functionality or more complex options.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

At first, the sheer number of options can feel a bit overwhelming, but that's really just a consequence of working with Docker.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me an immediate overview of my services and makes it easy for me to update base images.

  ### 30. Perfect companion for container management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarik U. | CISO, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

It offers a clear and intuitive interface for managing and monitoring containers. It is highly efficient and operates with minimal resource requirements. Additionally, the community support is robust and active. The implementation process is straightforward. I am using it almost daily. And integration is so easy.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Actually, I couldn't find anything I dislike about Portainer. But maybe if I had to say something, the UI can be a little bit modern. Other than that, everything is so cool.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing containers cantrely and with an ease of use.

  ### 31. My goto app for docker container orchestration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** john k. | it consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

For me portainer provides all the essential docker container functions, run, images etc plus docker compose functionality and more plus it's GUI is simple and easy to use, it was my goto app while getting to grips with docker as it has functions that are not easily accessible via dockers built in GUI, so its ideal for beginners

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

There wasn't much to dislike about portainer in my opinion other than it being an additional app / service to deploy initially although most of this isn't as much of an issue since portainer was available via dockers extensions

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainers simple and easy to use GUI still makes portainer indespensible especially for quick access to everything youd expect to of had with the built-in gui

  ### 32. A flawless experience for managing dockers!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristiano B. | CyberSecurity Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer is an easy to use and implement solution that we use in Environements where we need to manage a big number of Dockers.
Using Portainer permits us to forget all of the Dockers commands and we use it almost everyday on every new Elasticsearch environment that we deploy due to its flexibility.
Some of the features that we use more are surely the images management page and the "Stacks" Page, really easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Sometimes debugging errors is quite hard as the messages are not that verbose and can cause some confusion.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is making the development of containers to integrate with third party solutions easier, permitting us to save time that otherwise would've been used to manage containers manually.

  ### 33. No brainer for homelab / SME, but UI could be a bit more 'modernized'

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I've been hearing about good things about Portainer for years and finally want to give it a try, and short story is pretty amazing. Graphical management for multiple containers is a breeze, particularly on container-heavy instances, but it still needs a bit 'twisting' in terms of thinking comparing to CLI. I ended up back to CLI simply because there was some design logic I can't get through within a short time (and still needs to put certain things into prod), but I think it's more of my problem than Portainer's.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

What slightly put me off is Portainer's UI, in 2025's term speaking, is a bit dated, or should I say weird. To a point, it feels like bootstrap 3 / 4 age and I'd like to see the UI to be refreshed to a more modern, responsive look and feel.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing graphical interface that no one else could provide (in terms of web management).

  ### 34. Instant Visibility and Effortless Container Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I love that Portainer brings instant visibility and simplicity to container management. Its web‑based dashboard is beautifully intuitive

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Minor interface quirks (e.g. refresh glitches).

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing many containers in lab

  ### 35. The best way to manage Docker environments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas A. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

The ability to modify and redeploy entire stacks using compose taxonomy is amazing. Being able to visually see performance metrics of all my containers is super useful. And all done in a couple of clicks! Very easy to use and very solid.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I wish you could get more than three nodes for free because this product is amazing!

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to quickly deploy and manage multiple Docker environments with such ease and a nice GUI is invaluable

  ### 36. Easy to use and never any maintenance problems

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roy v. | Full stack webdeveloper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

It's easy to deploy and manage containers across multiple servers. For this the stacks feature is very usefull. With stacks i'm able to deploy tools like netdata to very server that i run and keep it easily up to date by simply changing the version number and pressing update stack.

I use Portainer for my own selfhosted servers, and we also use it at our company. It removes the requirement for using CLI with docker on Linux which is very nice.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

The learning curse in Portainer is bad for people inexperienced with docker. The interface can feel cluttered and overwhelming.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of manually running and configuring containers via the command line, they are easy to deploy and manage using the web UI.

Another big benefit is the ability to deploy and update/manage containers on multiple servers at once.

  ### 37. Easy Docker management from a web browser

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim B. | MIS Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer lets me easily and remotely manage almost all aspects of Docker Containers and their supporting infrastructure through a browser-based application making frequent use simple and effective. Installation is straightforward, and it integrates easily into many environments. Its feature set is rich and comprehensive, and while Portainer does provide support, there is a robust online community.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Portainer is very convenient, insulating the underlying infrastructure, but troubleshooting Docker issues can sometimes be tricky, so understanding the underlying CLI commands may be necessary. Portainer's feature set is broad and deep, so finding a solution to an odd issue may not be obvious.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My environment is a home lab, and Portainer lets me deploy and manage many containerized services quickly and easily from a browser-based application without having to resort to SSH and CLI. This makes exploring and managing new and existing projects less time consuming and more consistent.

  ### 38. Portainer - Why use anything else

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendan C. | Principal Systems and Solutions Lead., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

I love that I can manage all my containers via Portainer. Its fast, easy and works very well, easy to install and setup on multiple servers. I pretty much use it every day.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

This could just be me - but when I want a custom image, I dont need it as a stack. So when you delete your container to deploy again, you need to remember to delete the stack too.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lets me see all of my Containers in a single pain of glass, across multiple servers in different clouds.

  ### 39. Portainer is the best way to visually maintain on-prem Docker containers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

My favorite part about Portainer is how easy it is to set up and use. I was able to quickly set up and integrate multiple physical servers as Portainer environments so I can get a comprehesensive view across of all of my Docker services in a single pane of glass which I can look at every day.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

While Portainer is easy to use, it's UI isn't the best for some more advanced use cases, where the Docker CLI may be needed. The great part is that even services deployed via the Docker CLI and Docker Compose, they will still show up in Portainer.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is solving the problem of having an easy view of containers running on-prem. While cloud services often offer UIs to view and manage your containers, Docker doesn't offer one by default. Portainer helps bridge that gap and make on-prem container management so much easier.

  ### 40. Amazing experience with CI/CD automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander Marra M. | Arquiteto de software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Easy of use and configure the integration with CI/CD and Azure, I've made several integrations with different back and frontend applications, from node up to dotnet and React to Angular, everything works fine and the use together with Traefik makes this solution perfect to small business, very low cost, easy implementation, very trustable with auto-deploy in Azure, natural integration with Registries make this one of the best, fast and reliable software.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Integration with AI tools to help create stacks and get, for example, network names, repositories, or instances like a lint validator before trying to execute will give the user faster decisions.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploy and automation of solutions in developer environment, create a quick way to test the applications without a lot of configurations and direct commands in bash, but also, giving the view about how it's working and the overall consumption.

  ### 41. Trying out Portainer to learn more about Docker

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen S. | Cybersecurity Engineer - Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Portainer?**

Portainer really simplifies finding, setting up and maintaining containers. I used it to handle containers on a VM(Kali) and two raspberry pi. I was able to go to one place to check status and restart my containers.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

I had some issues with having to rebuild on of my raspberry pi and had to delete and re-add it to portainer.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have limited space on each of my test devices and struggle with keeping track of the containers. Portainer centralized and simplified this management.

Not much. My personal opinion is that it is almost a flawless application.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

docker Desktop. It is a buggy application until I started using the Docker engine directly in WSL2. Linux, was I able to maintain stability for my website? applications without Portainer? I would not know what's going on inside.

  ### 45. Portainer is an excellent docker management tool

I use Portainer on three different machines, all synced together, and it has never let me down. It was extremely easy to install, and integrate with my existing Docker enviornment. It also supports SSO out of the box, allowing me to easily integrate with Authentik. I can't speak to customer support: but it has a wide userbase that have encountered basically any issue possible. Due to this widespread use, it's easy to find support for any issues I encounter.

**What do you dislike about Portainer?**

Portainer doesn't have many negative features, in my expierence.

**What problems is Portainer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portainer is simplifying Docker management by providing a comprehensive suite of tools that makes it extremely easy to manage and administer a Docker server cluster.
