Who is Stack Internal pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviewers, Stack Overflow Internal's pricing is best suited for mid-market and enterprise technology teams, particularly in computer software, information technology, and financial services. G2 reviews of Stack Overflow Internal show that small businesses with fewer than 50 users benefit strongly from the Free plan, while growing teams exceeding that threshold often find the jump to paid tiers a meaningful cost consideration. The Business tier suits SMBs needing advanced documentation and integrations, while the Enterprise tier aligns with large organizations requiring custom hosting, robust APIs, and dedicated support. Developer-heavy teams across industries consistently report the highest adoption and satisfaction.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Stack Internal?

Stack Overflow Internal's Free plan supports up to 50 teammates and includes core Q&A functionality, Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations, and a private searchable knowledge base, but lacks SSO, advanced integrations, and content management tools. The Basic plan at $6.50 per month adds SAML SSO and Okta integration for up to 250 users. Stack Overflow Internal's Business tier at $13.50 per month unlocks Articles, Collections, Jira and GitHub integrations, Content Health monitoring, usage analytics, and SOC 2 Type II compliance. G2 reviewers frequently note that advanced features being restricted to higher tiers can be limiting for smaller organizations with tighter budgets.

Is Stack Internal considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers of Stack Overflow Internal are largely satisfied with the value delivered, though pricing concerns surface consistently across segments. Many G2 users give high ratings while simultaneously flagging cost as a barrier, particularly for smaller teams and organizations just above the 50-user free tier threshold. Reviewers note that the per-user pricing model can become expensive at scale, and some mention that advanced features like Jira integration and Articles are locked behind higher tiers. That said, G2 reviews of Stack Overflow Internal frequently highlight strong ROI through reduced onboarding time, fewer repeated questions, and preserved institutional knowledge, making it a premium but justifiable investment for mid-market and enterprise teams.

What do you like best about Stack Internal?

The centralized knowledge base is a major advantage, as developers are already familiar with it. This familiarity makes adoption much smoother than starting with a brand new wiki or documentation tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Internal?

If team members aren't proactive in asking and answering questions, the knowledge base can quickly become outdated. It requires someone to dedicate time to adding initial questions and answers, as well as organizing tags, to help others recognize its value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool to centralize team knowledge."

What do you like best about Stack Internal?

I like how Stack Overflow for Teams keeps all our team's knowledge at single place. It is super easy to use just like the public version, but more private, focused and centralized to our company. The number of features like saving a post for future referencing, voting for the answers and select the most liked or voted answer from various options for any single problem makes it very useful. I also like how it connects with Slack, so I can quickly share or search answers without leaving chat. It helps new members learn faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Stack Internal?

Sometimes the search doesn't show the most relevant result quickly, so I need to adjust my keywords a bit. Also, few features like analytics or advanced settings are only available in higher plans and paid versions which small teams might not be able to utilize. But overall, it is a great tool.
