Spendwise Makes Purchase Orders Smooth, Efficient, and Easy to Learn **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Katie H. | Accounts Payable Manger, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026 **What do you like best about Spendwise?** Spendwise is user-friendly and very easy to learn. I personally set up new users and send them our training video, and I’ve only heard positive feedback from our staff. They tell me how simple it is to use, and they really love the functionality. I use Spendwise every day since I monitor purchases and handle all Accounts Payable. I especially love how easy it is to look up past PO’s by person, amount, or date (I use that function a lot). PO’s are also very fast and easy to create. When we have recurring purchases, I can quickly copy an old PO to carry the information over and just update the date. The features I use most are copying, printing, and looking up past PO’s. Overall, it makes the process smooth and efficient for everyone on staff. Customer Support is the amazing! Tyler is great to work with. Any time I have a question, he is quick to answer and help me through any issues I may have. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** The only issue we've had is that the Amazon purchase feature will sometimes not process our orders if we take longer than 3-5 days to fully approve a PO. It makes it even more challenging to fully approve PO's on time since our PO's require three signatures (the purchaser, the supervisor, then the Director of Finance). If the purchaser creates an Amazon order on a Friday, the PO may not be fully approved until Monday if the supervisor signs it on time. Also, if a supervisor or the Director of Finance in on vacation this pushes the date it's fully approved further out. This hasn't happened often since we know about this hiccup and we understand it's more of an Amazon error than Spendwise. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to eliminate paper PO's. These were very time consuming and difficult to track or pull when I have a question whether a bill was paid or if a PO was created. Spendwise makes it very easy to find PO's so I know what has been paid. I love that we are able to attach copies of the receipts so I can print off a copy if the physical receipt gets lost or if it's taking too long to come over to me in the mail. The check writing process is more efficient since I can quickly check if a PO has been created for an Invoice I haven't seen yet on check day. **Official Response from Ryan Belcher:** > Thank you for your feedback Katie! As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we operate in a complex regulatory environment, and Spendwise provides a centralized platform that makes purchasing easy, reduces duplicate vendor payments, and strengthen transparency and oversight across departments. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** The team at Spendwise has been amazing at assisting us with rollout and continued support, and I cannot say enough great things about Ryan and his team. The only downside I have is with the rollout of any SaaS and the difficult adoption all organizations may face. Even as well-structured and functional as Spendwise is, integration delays still happen due to internal processes. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Spendwise has effectively removed most administrative burden from our organization surrounding purchasing, and has essentially made duplicate payments to vendors a thing of the past, saving time and money. ### 3. We have seamlessly adapted to constantly going back and forth to Spendwise whenever we have a discrepancy with our deliveries or simply to check in on when we placed a particular order so we can then track it. The search bar alone for determining our ordered products has been greatly helpful and our custom purchase orders have never looked better. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** For what our inventory uses it for, Spendwise has little to no issues for us. Every once in a while, a product we have in the system does not come up unless we have added the product name to our description or the name/number section but we are usually able to catch this and over inform the item's detailing. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Spendwise has provided us with an easier way to track all of our made orders as well as provide some of our vendors with a very professional copy of our purchase orders. We are a smaller construction company and found Spendwise to be priced decently and very easy to use. The set-up process went very smoothly and anytime I have had questions I received a response quicker than I expected. We use this program everyday for purchasing all of our construction materials and equipment. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** Only a couple of minor things that cause some strife. I wish we could manually add a tax amount and not rely on using percentages. Taxes get complicated and sometimes are not a simple percentage amount. Then the only other negative comment is when you send a purchase order via the email feature and send it to multiple people they do not know you sent it to others. This does cause some confusion on the receivers side. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest advantage for us is that all our purchasing information is stored in one central location. We used to have to save every order in our network files. So for that reason Spendwise has accomplished one of our main goals. If Needed you can run a report on any vendor on how much is spent per year for tracking purposes. You can also scan invoices into the data base and upload to send for approvals. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** Only downside to spendwise is then you have multilple users in there at once the PO does not reflect that user where a PO can be used twice by 2 different users if not paying attention. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Owner or admins can track POs and quotes at an easier rate. It helps put visibility on spending through the web where an owner or administrator does not have to be at work to verify. ### 32. We only see changes once they have been applied to the system. We would like to know up front about upcoming changes so we can prepare accordingly. Notes cannot be deleted. Once a note is added in either sales order or purchase order side of Spendwise, we are unable to delete old notes which we no longer need. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Spendwise allows us to run all of our business through one system. We are a small business and there is nothing that we cannot do to run our business through Spendwise. ### 33. Order entry, creating purchase orders & setting up part numbers is very easy. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** I would like to see the accurate back log of sales & A/P based on multiple shipment releases. We have open orders due to multiple shipment releases. The open orders that have shipment releases do not deduct the releases that have already shipped & invoiced, thus providing a false back log dollar value in our system. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy Order Entry System - very user friendly. ### 34. User friendly. I like that I can search a few different ways to find the vehicle I may have questions about. There is some redundancy in connection with the rental software we use. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** This product keeps our budgets in check. Their upper management can review and approve it. The purchasing department can fulfill the request and attach the receipt to the PO. When we reconcile the credit card transactions, If the receipt has been attached to each PO, Then it is much easier to work on credit card purchases. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** I could not think of any dislike about Spendwise. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** There is electronic processing, and no hard copy to be filed. ### 37. I really appreciate how helpful Ryan is and his responses to questions or upgrades. The auto billing is really nice. **What do you dislike about Spendwise?** When a PO is created, I wish I could copy an entire line or insert a line in between lines that are already there. I think this system is great and some of the changes I would like to see might not be fitting for everyone. **What problems is Spendwise solving and how is that benefiting you?** This system works best for us since it is cloud based and since not all of our employees work in the same building, it is helpful to us. PO's arevery time consuming since we have so many PO's that have to go back thru approval several times. ### 38.
