Nothing is easily accessible regarding reports with Softdent. I have either had to use the Help feature and search or literally call Softdent to possibly find reports I want. I do not like how the accounts are set up. Filtering info you want in or out of an account report is not possible. I do not like how you have to manually go in and template a schedule day by day as opposed to having a template setup and just create it month to month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The format is nice and clean. Like that we can put sticky notes on an appt so that we can have more details that us at the front can pass on to the staff in the back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's no shortcut to print an appt from the appt. Instead, have to go through multiple tabs, which is annoying. There isn't an easy way to organize what and how much insurance paid for procedures. It would be nice to click on the payment and see a breakdown of insurance payments instead of going through insurance EOBS and scrolling the whole ledger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Email integration is not so simple and custom reports are difficult to configure. I also don’t like that for 25 years I have had to look at 4 complete strangers when I logon. I would like to be able to upload my own image. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Softdent is a pretty basic dental software but it seems to be pretty easy to navigate and use for me as a dental hygienist. I like that the schedule is easy to read, for example, easy to decipher dentist versus hygienist column by choosing a color for the clinician. It is very easy to type up your notes, user friendly when it comes to dental chart (existing restorations versus treatment planning decay/fillings), and it is nice that you can book the patient's next appt and attach their treatment plan to that appointment (visit 1, 2, etc). In regards to dental charting, I would really like to see a "watch" button on the ondotogram (other softwares like Eaglesoft and DOX KBS has this option). Instead, I have to physically write a "watch" in my dental notes and sometimes these notes do get over looked by the dentist and other dental professionals. It would just be much easier to see a watch on the dental chart (be able to also chart the surfaces to watch- for example, watch #10 DFL). I have noticed too, that it is challenging to create a tx plan then try and "book" the appt, the software wants you to physically get out of the patient's chart, which can be a pain. Also, the front desk and the clinical staff cannot both be in the treatment plan at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Comprehensive and complete. It captures all of the data you need to run your practice. A lot of the features you expect or wish you had are there. You just need to kn ow where. Insurance filing is simple and helpful, it keeps you from filing a lot of dud (incomplete claims) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Occasionally too many steps to complete a task. Also, for novice users there are some redundant shortcuts. The cloud version doe not have enough 3rd party integration at the present time. I am told they are working on it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is very keyboard based and you rely on knowing what keys to type to reach certain areas like “s” to view the schedule or “p” for prescriptions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CS SoftDent Software is very user friendly. We have switched from a more outdated program to this and work has been a breeze! I am able to schedule patients, add insurance, and I can easily change or update records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike that certain members of staff are unable to fully understand as it could be harder for someone who is not computer literate to fully get the software. There are also many features that aren't as easily broadcast-ed that need some searching to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Softdent Rolled out there latest update about 5 months ago. We finally updated to the latest version and now we have found out that Softdent no longer integrates with DEXIS (which it always has and they still claim that it does). This is following 3 weeks of back and forth which they claimed they didnt know why our program would not integrate and they have not heard of this issue before (update is 5 months old). They now have admitted that following the update they can not integrate with Dexis and they will do nothing to remedy this situation. They still claim to integrate with Dexis in there online materials and salesmans' mouths. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Way too many prompts, when checking out a patient its awkward as it takes way too long. The program constantly crashes and freezes. Inaccurate calculations on pt transactions. Not very straightforward as you must go to several menus. Cant close the program without being signed in is incredibly annoying. Doesn't automatically refresh daily schedule.
