I have either had to use the Help feature and search or literally call Softdent to possibly find reports I want. I do not like how the accounts are set up. Filtering info you want in or out of an account report is not possible. I do not like how you have to manually go in and template a schedule day by day as opposed to having a template setup and just create it month to month. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** Softdent does not solve any problems as I find it very antiquated. ### 2. Like that we can put sticky notes on an appt so that we can have more details that us at the front can pass on to the staff in the back. **What do you dislike about SoftDent?** There's no shortcut to print an appt from the appt. Instead, have to go through multiple tabs, which is annoying. There isn't an easy way to organize what and how much insurance paid for procedures. It would be nice to click on the payment and see a breakdown of insurance payments instead of going through insurance EOBS and scrolling the whole ledger. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** Last year they had an update that multiple users could be in the same patient chart. It has improved a little but still has problems. ### 3. I also don’t like that for 25 years I have had to look at 4 complete strangers when I logon. I would like to be able to upload my own image. **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** Does everything. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** I send insurance claims electronically with seamless ease and I do billing and A/R easily also. I like that the schedule is easy to read, for example, easy to decipher dentist versus hygienist column by choosing a color for the clinician. It is very easy to type up your notes, user friendly when it comes to dental chart (existing restorations versus treatment planning decay/fillings), and it is nice that you can book the patient's next appt and attach their treatment plan to that appointment (visit 1, 2, etc). **What do you dislike about SoftDent?** In regards to dental charting, I would really like to see a "watch" button on the ondotogram (other softwares like Eaglesoft and DOX KBS has this option). Instead, I have to physically write a "watch" in my dental notes and sometimes these notes do get over looked by the dentist and other dental professionals. It would just be much easier to see a watch on the dental chart (be able to also chart the surfaces to watch- for example, watch #10 DFL). I have noticed too, that it is challenging to create a tx plan then try and "book" the appt, the software wants you to physically get out of the patient's chart, which can be a pain. Also, the front desk and the clinical staff cannot both be in the treatment plan at the same time. **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** I would schedule a demo for this software but also try other softwares as well. Although this one would be sufficient in a a small office, there are some errors/negatives to it. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have encountered several errors while working with the software. I also have noticed it is quite SLOW when opening a patient's chart, opening X-ray images, and when toggling back and forth from soft tissue to notes etc. ### 5. It captures all of the data you need to run your practice. A lot of the features you expect or wish you had are there. You just need to kn ow where. Insurance filing is simple and helpful, it keeps you from filing a lot of dud (incomplete claims) **What do you dislike about SoftDent?** Occasionally too many steps to complete a task. Also, for novice users there are some redundant shortcuts. The cloud version doe not have enough 3rd party integration at the present time. I am told they are working on it **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** Do your homework, understand that many different software platforms offer similar features, but Softdent is in the top 5 when it comes to having the most and making it convenient. Beware, you will have trouble using all of the features, so study it well. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to tract my patients well, from medical history to treatment planning. Being an experienced user, I can check on my front desk and keep tabs on th business aspect of my practice ### 6. We have switched from a more outdated program to this and work has been a breeze! I am able to schedule patients, add insurance, and I can easily change or update records. **What do you dislike about SoftDent?** I dislike that certain members of staff are unable to fully understand as it could be harder for someone who is not computer literate to fully get the software. There are also many features that aren't as easily broadcast-ed that need some searching to find. **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** I highly recommend CS SoftDent Software **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to organize everything I need to make sure I am doing my job effectively. My company loves how are we can view x-rays and can also link with different machines we have in the office. ### 8. We finally updated to the latest version and now we have found out that Softdent no longer integrates with DEXIS (which it always has and they still claim that it does). This is following 3 weeks of back and forth which they claimed they didnt know why our program would not integrate and they have not heard of this issue before (update is 5 months old). They now have admitted that following the update they can not integrate with Dexis and they will do nothing to remedy this situation. They still claim to integrate with Dexis in there online materials and salesmans' mouths. **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** Do not use this software in your practice. It will be nothing but a headache! **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently Softdent has added 0 benefits to our practice and is only a headache, stay away. The program constantly crashes and freezes. Inaccurate calculations on pt transactions. Not very straightforward as you must go to several menus. Cant close the program without being signed in is incredibly annoying. Doesn't automatically refresh daily schedule. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** No benefits to this program. Its terrible and not made to cater to dental needs ### 10. Works well for paperless charting. The tabs make it easy to find things like perio charting, patients charts, accounts, etc **What do you dislike about SoftDent?** Scheduling can be difficult. I have accidentally moved appointments without even trying and can never get them back in the same spot. We also have issues integrating our xray software into this program. Some days it works and others it doesn't. Not sure why. **Recommendations to others considering SoftDent:** Just plan for training and give time to learn the product. There may be issues integrating xray software into this program. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has aided in going paperless though we aren't quite there yet. This software does have a learning curve, especially if it is replacing another product. A lot of the features are the same, just in different locations. It takes time to learn new software. We do seem to have an issue with integrating our dental xray software into the program though ### 14. It's like it runs heavy no matter how new or fast your internet is. Nothing is seamless, and every feature is either way too many clicks or just plain difficult to use. **What problems is SoftDent solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving no issues and everything this software does can be better completed with a different software. ### 17.
