## Smore Reviews
  ### 1. Intuitive Smore Templates for Visually Appealing Newsletters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mandy L. | Technology Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Very easy to use a Smore Template and add the feature you need to make a visually appealing newsletter

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Nothing stands out - it's a very intuitive product

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a technology trainer in a K–12 public school district, I find Smore invaluable for sharing monthly training tips and tricks that help keep our faculty and staff informed and up to date.

  ### 2. Improved communications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren S. | Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Smore?**

I love that I can create a newsletter to share with staff and parents. Even better, I can share the HTML code to our website staff member to keep a specific section of our website updated with the newsletter. No more weekly posts to be copied from an email or Google doc and updated later. Additionally, if a typo is found the newsletter can be updated after being sent. Families can also change the language and font size meaning better access to information.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Sharing/collaborating on newsletters is very expensive. One educator account is $175 while a educator team account is $1080 for 2-5 people. That is a huge jump and often more than schools can afford.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication on a formatted manner I can't send via email. Provides sections and images embedded without taking up too much space. The ability to add link buttons and images helps to share information.

  ### 3. Great Tool For Teachers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Smore allows me to create a monthly newsletter for families with ease. I can insert and upload photos with or without captions and push the newsletter out through a mass email. It's super user-friendly and looks professional.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

The only downside I've experienced is if you are working on it with a collaborator you have to use one login and share. This is hard as you need to share a code each time you log in.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smore is solving the problem of creating an easy-to-use newsletter template. It benefits me as I don't have to take a lot of time to create the newsletter.

  ### 4. Super Easy Digital Newsletters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | C, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Smore is a super easy way to share news and events that are happening within your organization. We love how easy it is to change the background images, colors and font of the newsletters. An added bonus is the variety of content that you can add to your digital newsletters. Smore allows the user to not only add text and pictures but you can even add video content, attach files and embed forms as well as audio and calendar options. It's alo very easy to share your newsletter to social media or copy a link to send out via email.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

I tried my best and just couldn't find anything that I did not like about smore. It's easy to use and most people can be expert users in a matter of minutes. The product also gives you the ability to view analytics which tell you how many views you have had. They also have a great support area built into the site and you really can't beat the annual pricing.

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

If you are looking for an easy way to share information via social media, email or a digital link you will not be disappointed. Smore is one of the easiest solutions I have found to implement. I spend very little time training a user how to implement the product. The newsletters are always of very high quality and the included graphics are great. If you are purchasing this for an educational environment make sure you purchase the education version so you can get the clip art with education themes. You can also try the product out for free.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as a Chief Technology Officer for a small school district and we actively use Smore as a community engagement tool. We send out school and department newsletters and our superintendent even uses Smore to send newsletters out to our faculty to keep them better informed.

  ### 5. A Great Intro to Email Marketing!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam C. | Communications Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Smore is a great tool for those wishing to get started with email marketing. It has the ability to take generic emails and spice them up using graphics, buttons, color, and images. Smore makes it really easy to load in pre-ade lists of email addresses so that you can target your email to the right audience. The best feature that Smore offers is its pre-made templates. Smore has templates with different colors, layouts, and even offers different background images depending on the upcoming holiday or time of year. The templates that Smore offers makes it easy to quickly create and send a visually-appealing email. Even better is the fact that Smore saves templates from emails you've already made, making it easy to dial-in a design you like and make a quick change before sending.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Smore thrives when it comes to simplicity with email marketing. However, its simplicity means it has some limitations. For example, to my knowledge, custom HTML can't be added to the emails. Additionally, if you opt to use the free version, you're limited to just three emails total. These emails you send will also be lower-quality and slightly blurry—Smore only allows you to send high-quality emails once you upgrade.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smore has made sending staff emails more engaging than before. When I send out an email with Smore, I can even track the delivered rate and the open rate, making it easy to gauge awareness of the information I'm sending out. Smore has also made it easier to separate different types of information in emails; having colored buttons and images makes it easier for readers to quickly skim the email and find the content that they're looking for.

  ### 6. Smore is great for school communication!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley M. | I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Smore?**

I love how Smore is both simple and customizable. I can set up a template with headers that I create and quickly change the information each month. I have used other programs that are easy to use, but there are no options to make your newsletter look personalized. Smore checks both boxes for me.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

There is no option to schedule a newsletter to send in the future. I often like to make my newsletters while at work but send them out in the evening. It's not hard to log in and send the newsletter when I'm ready, but having a scheduling feature would make the program better.

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

If you work in a school, Smore is a fantastic tool to consider for getting information out to parents and students easily and quickly. I work in a large school, and it has increased involvement in activities because people take the time to read the newsletter. We have really enjoyed it!

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use social media for announcements but have found that dates often get lost with the amount of information we post. The newsletter is a great way for parents and students to get information all in one place.

  ### 7. Bad Business

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annika B. | teacher

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Smore?**

It is a good program.

However, their customer service/billing is not so great. Be careful with annual recurring charges that they will not refund.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Be warned that Smore.com does not give you any courtesy notification about your upcoming renewal/charges.
On August 1, 2021, the day after I saw the charge to my card, I tried to cancel my subscription. They informed me that it was too late, and they do not do refunds. I needed to cancel by July 31, 2021 for a refund. So now I am paying for an entire year of a program that I won't be using.
Every recurring annual subscription I have gives me a heads up before my renewal. This just seems like bad/sneaky business to me.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none

  ### 8. Very easy to use, intuitive interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gwen M. | Education Experience Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Smore?**

It's obvious how to do what you want. If you do something you dislike, it's just as easy to un-do it (I think this is key to experimenting and just trying a new platform.)

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Update! They've updated the mailing list feature and have added a search function! So great now!

The mailing list features are great in that you can have several. However, I would love a "search within" feature so that I could remove people by hand without having to scroll through the entire mailing list. At least it's alphabetical!

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that it's so easy to make an email newsletter that looks pro. I also love that they collect stats for me, so I don't have to hook it up to Google Analytics or anything like that.

  ### 9. Perfect amount of flare for any situation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley C. | Executive Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Smore?**

How I can customize the flyer based on individual situations. I can even embedded my google sheet link so staff can just click and go.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

That more users are not allowed. Currently, when I send flyers, it has to say it came from someone else in our agency. I do wish smore had its own data collection.

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

I believe that you will get plenty of use from smore for advertising!

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use smore most to get PD events out there and to advertise our Staff meetings. The only problem we really have is not enough users.

  ### 10. Best Email Flyers & Newsletters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary C. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Very easy to use program. Create beautiful-looking e flyers and newsletters in minutes. Totally customizable by using your photos etc. You can even add links and videos.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Nothing to dislike this program is excellent.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have set appointments and made sales just by sending out a Smores flyer/newsletter. An invaluable asset.

  ### 11. Smore for communication and newsletters

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Smore allows you to easily customize content in a professional format distribute informative to various employees.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

It would be nice to be able to combine it with professional editing software, such as Photoshop.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smore has allowed for news and publication editing and distribution of info for employees and parents of students.

  ### 12. School Newsletters Using Smore

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Smore?**

Smore is super simple to use. The interface makes it really easy to add text, pictures, videos, polls and a variety of other pieces of information with the click of a button. You can also change the colors and fonts in the right sidebar and it adjusts the entire document with a single click. The user can then send the newsletter out via email or social media channels. Learning how to use Smore is also really simple and you can be a master in a matter of minutes. I literally teach people how to use this product and they are creating within fifteen minutes.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

I really have nothing bad to say regarding the product. It is super simple to use and the end product always looks great.

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

Try it out for free. I think you will like it. They also have school accounts and often offer discounts to educators throughout the year. The school accounts have backgrounds and clip art that are associated with school specific themes.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a small public K-12 school district and we it to communicate with staff, parents and students. We use Smore for newsletters to parents and staff, updates from the board of education and professional development updates that include video tutorials, professionals to follow on social media and hyperlinks to other resources. We can even include polls to gauge or teachers interest in specific areas.

  ### 13. Smore is helpful for easy and professional newsletters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jana C. | Public Relations Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Smore?**

We started using Smore earlier this year and we've been very happy. It's user friendly and has nice and easy templates.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

There is not anything that I dislike at this time.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smore has been great to encourage my team to use Enewsletters. They've found it very user friendly and I'm seeing better communication with our stakeholders as a result.

  ### 14. S’more flyers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shara S. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

The interface is amazingly simple and easy to use. I love the fact that the set up is simple without a barrage of overwhelming options. My students always choose this software over Canva or Adobe Spark because it’s easy to navigate

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Free accounts are limited to three flyers. I workaround this by downloading copies of flyers I will use regularly and editing the template

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use S’more for my parent newsletter and encourage students to use it

  ### 15. Attractive and Effective Marketing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

I’ve used Smore for my photography business for three years now, and really do like it quite a bit. For free, I can create an attractive newsletter (they used to call it an online flyer) that I can then post on social media, send via email to my client list (a free plan offers 200 email credits per month), link in my signature, and share with anyone at any time. My most popular package is an ongoing 45 minute (or so) Mini Session that I continually ‘decorate’ then attach to seasons, seasonal events (wedding/graduation/prom) and holidays. I have different Smore promos for all of them, and they look great. They look great, they get my message across, and they work. I am contacted through my Smore promos often. Using Smore, I’ve also created what I like to call my ‘main’ promo, which, unless I have another seasonal newsletter that I’m passing around, is always in my email signature. Not only is it organized to showcase some of my work, but it outlines all of my prices and services. It’s a great way to organize and share what I have going on in the Now. In the moment. Simple and effective.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Well, I used to be able to freshen my newsletters via the edit button. That feature is now only available for a short time after creating the promo. After, I’m not sure how long (?) we are no longer able to edit, and instead have to clone the newsletter into a new one, and then edit the new one. The ability to edit a newsletter indefinitely is an upgrade feature. A paid feature. I understand. I’m okay with that, and still find Smore to be incredibly valuable. What happens, however, is that now I have a completely different link. So anywhere I’ve shared my main promo link (like in my email sig) needs to be swapped. Also, my analytics are gone. Number of views, where they came from, how many clicked organically, how many from Facebook etc. I’m left to start over. The old promo is still there in my account, mind you, but yes, it’s a restart from scratch.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Smore and an online portfolio, I am spared the expense of a website. A website is ideal, and is something I’ll do again when I can, but Smore fills that void rather well. There are plenty of design choices, and I can create and get the word out quickly. In some ways it’s better than a website, because all necessary information is right there in one place, along with my work, which is showcased well. I freshen my main promo every couple of months with new images, then post on social media, and it always grabs the attention I’m hoping for. Smore is great. I think they’ve done a fantastic job. They offer an awful lot, even with their free plan.

  ### 16. Vision is Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

The accessibility of the Smore newsletter

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Limited formatting in the text boxes - for example size of text, variety of fonts within a given text box, etc...

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

If you want a simple, user friendly and eye catching tool to communicate with virtually anyone, Smore provides the platform and the tools. Every user no matter their level of technology expertise or use can access with a simple link. There is power in language and communicating is vital in every organization.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We take an organizational health survey and our “Communication” score was lower compared to other areas. To improve this measure, I used the Smore letter weekly with my organization to communicate important days and to cast our vision of “Ready, Set, Grow.” It has helped to provide visibility of the vision. Standardized text seemed limiting but does keep the newsletter looking clean.

  ### 17. Smore's for educators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber C. | School Counselor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

I love that we're able to send out fun and informative flyers to our students and families.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

I do not have any dislikes about this program.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool helps our school to promote events, display important information, and advertise school related programs. We work in a virtual school setting, so any ways we can get information out to our students and families that is "outside of the box" and will draw them to actually want to read it, is a benefit!

  ### 18. Great tool for communication!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

It’s very easy to use and navigate through for parents. It is also easy to update so families can check out the latest classroom news!

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

Nothing has gone wrong yet for me! They could, however, make more fonts and backgrounds because there aren’t too many to choose from in their stock.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to communicate with parents and give them information immediately when they are notified of a new s’more message.

  ### 19. Smore Newsletter

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina A. | Secretary, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Smore?**

It has more options to make your newsletters easier to read and more fun. customer service is fast in answering questions you may have.

**What do you dislike about Smore?**

you cannot copy and paste things into newsletter. makes it frustrating... lots of rules

**Recommendations to others considering Smore:**

attend a training or play around with it first.

**What problems is Smore solving and how is that benefiting you?**

more options in sending my newsletters to a large body of people.
