What we've done the manual way for so many years is now mostly automated and reduces the amount of time dramatically in how we source for brands and products. I'm sure there's a feature that could be introduced, but I couldn't tell you what it is. Although the UPC scanner isn't something we use much, that part of the software could use improvement to extend the amount of UPCs to scan and fix some of glitches. It can also be used as a way to find local sellers in your niche for networking opportunities. The Brands tool is hands down the most time-saving feature of any software tool on the market for finding brand-direct wholesale leads. We're able to generate a targeted list of potential wholesale leads in seconds using this feature, something that would take hours of tedious effort if done manually. **What do you dislike about SmartScout?** One of the downsides is the lack of social media presence. SmartScout has a presence on all major social platforms but for example on YouTube they've only posted 2 videos in the last 8 months. It cuts the time requirement down from multiple hours to mere minutes. All the functions have clear guidance videos and examples. The data and the filter are displayed in a very clear and straightforward way. One of the best tool for amazon seller, especially for who are wholesalers. **What do you dislike about SmartScout?** The fee is certainly quite high compared to other research tools and the data is not comprehensive as it is based only on the data from the amazon website, not from API (Amazon has stopped selling data to third party since 2020). We were actively looking at a 'category estimator' tool for Amazon that wanted upfront payment for a year's commitment when we found SmartScout. It saved us a big commitment to a tool that didn't do that much more and was much more complex to work with. The ability to break out "Brands", "Sellers", "Products" across multiple Amazon selling regions is amazing. It's very easy to use and understand, but I find new ideas and ways to use it all the time. My favorite ways to use it are doing discovery for new client prospects, comparing brands within the categories (or subcategories), and pulling hard to get information off of Amazon (like Sells on a particular brand). It's laid out like a giant data table of information, so anyone who can filter and sort in Excel should be able to understand it. **What do you dislike about SmartScout?** I'd love to understand more of the learning and logic behind some of the sales estimates and 'scores', which is a common theme with all estimator tools. We benchmark the sales from Smartscout against the accounts we have access to for a general range of accuracy and never treat the numbers as absolute 'truth'. That being said, I've found it to be as accurate as the most expensive tools on the market for estimating sales, plus it gives more information than most tools in a clean format. **Recommendations to others considering SmartScout:** If you're looking for an Amazon category tool for biz dev, internal analysis, or general research this should be on your shortlist of tools to consider. **What problems is SmartScout solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our main problem with similar tools is that they're not flexible enough, or they're confusing to use. SmartScout is a great balance of being easy to understand but also has a ton of useful information. The simple fact of being able to filter, sort, and export data into Excel is a huge time saver. We can now take 5 competitor brands and gain insight for a client within minutes. Some other tools can do this, but not for the low cost of SmartScout. ### 28.
