Smart Deploy has a simple and intuitive interface. Updating and maintaining my deployment media is simple. There's lots of support for any PC your organization uses. The ability to deploy over the cloud is great especially during the pandemic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do have to update my deployment media often. There are times where an image works perfectly on one system, but not on another of the same model. Not the best solution for deploying software, or installing the software when its imaged. It's a great tool if you are just using it to deploy images Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Platform Packs have drastically cut down on building our images. Also the benefit of deploying remotely or across buildings without having to bring a computer back to our office has been a huge time saver. Concurrent users can't login to SmartDeploy to build USB Deployment keys. Would be great if multiple technicians could use the system at once so they can create the media they need without waiting for someone else finish up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Support is always there and very helpful and once configured we could use our own OneDrive for storage. This kept our images in our compliant data store rather than having to rely on another provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The one improvement i could see being of great impact would be a unified cloud based UI. This would allow more than one administrator access to deploy images remotely as well as manage inventory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Platform packs are a little clunky, I have to manually touch and update those. I wish they would be more up-to-date and use an api between my network and SmartDeploy Platform pack servers to keep our Platform Pack's up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that once you get the hang of the software it is as simple as can be to deploy. Just build a virtual machine the way you want it. Capture the image and create your deployment media. To build an image, you simply create a virtual machine in either Hyper-V or VMWare, install all the software packages you wish to deploy with the image and run all the updates you need on the image. Then you can proceed to make any security, configuration, or user experience adjustments and then shut down the image. You then have to use the console and capture the Image which is as simple as stepping through a wizard and picking a save location. The ease of not needing to manually create partitions and other base system settings like you would with other deployment tools is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a bit of a learning curve to creating the answer files and making sure you have all the correct settings. Also, depending on the model of system you are imaging, there can be difficulty getting those systems into a boot configuration that can accept the image to be deployed. One of the difficult things that I ran into was the challenge of getting the system I was working on to boot properly into the media. I tried following support's recommendations and did not have much success with that. I ended up having to buy the product to get official support so that I could receive the "premium support" and then found out that it was my antivirus software on the deployed image that was blocking it from working. As a former user of Symantec Ghost I could not believe how easy SmartDeploy was to use. I was imaging my first machines about a half hour after installing the program. In addition the help and support for the product are exceptional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has a limition like if we are updating image one machine, we have to be dependents if other person has to update the image. If you can build the sync feature that would be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
