We love the search function. It searches not only in slab but in our other tools so it brings up everything related to your search. Perfect for us as we used to have information in many different places

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

I've used several doc tools over the years and have been delighted to find Slab. The editing experience is seamless. I also like how I can see what documents my team have been working on.

Wish the Slack integration was more configurable. It has been useful but wish I could selectively follow specific docs or folders.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Slab primarily for team wikis and product discovery docs.

I can find all the information about processes there so I always know where to go.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

At first, it was a bit hard to find the relevant documetns I was looking for, but once I knew where they were and how Slab classifies information, it was way easier.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To me, Slab is the place to go whenever I need to check information and processes. I know everything should be there so I avoid going back to emails or navigating all my desktop folders trying to find what one day was shred with me.

  ### 4. Just so easy

It's a powerful tool without the complexities. Adding content to Slab articles is clean and intuitive. **What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helped our team organize all our processes and information we need to reference every once in a while in a clean and simple platform. All our information is so accessible now, compared to when we were using Google Docs before and were building on 50 page documents that were difficult to sift through and find a information quickly. Being able to embed different documents, videos, presentation into Slab makes it the ultimate resource for us.

  ### 5. Good For Documentation

**What do you like best about Slab?**

It's given us a quick fit to our existing workflows for getting more collaboration in documentation.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Slab doesn't always give me a way to get directly to where I need to go.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration on documentation.

  ### 6. Very helpful and easy to use platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kassandra V. | CX Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Easy of use, sleek design. The variety of different spaces I can use to get much-needed information.

I would love more if we had more variety for backgrounds for people who have difficulties seeing, such as a dark mode, or different color schemes for fun!

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not many issues, it is a very seamless experience, thank you!

  ### 7. A perfect solution for internal projects, knowledge recording, and documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Operations Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab has helped us immensely with organizing our internal knowledge and documentation. The interface is very easy to use and the content is beautifully presented.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

We can't fault the product, it does everything we need it to.

We needed a solution to organise meeting notes, product documentation, marketing plans, and onboarding information for new staff.

  ### 8. More than documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandy H. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Ease of data access - Wiki format and linking make the Slab site very useful

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

The limitations on formating, specifically the spacing of lines in paragraphs - i enter a lot of information on each post, and the posts end up becoming very long

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coordinating with co-writers, access to arcane knowledge, ease of integrating external knowledge sources with Slab wiki content

  ### 9. Slab helps our workspace with organization and institutionalizing knowledge

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Slab has many useful features! Verification makes sure we keep our docs up to date, comments allow discussion about documents, version control and diffing let you tell what's changed.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Every once in a while I encounter a missing feature that would be nice, for example allowing users to be grouped when giving permissions to documents.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Slab to keep company notes organized. It's great for writing general documentation, and is much easier to search and find things than with past solutions we've used (e.g. Google Docs).

  ### 10. Excellent collaborative documentation tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

The wiki-style connections and the very simple file structure.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

There's no way to copy-paste or export text from Slab without the wiki-style links extra formatting. It makes exported texts quite fastidious to clean and read if you use wiki links a lot.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're sharing information across teams, projects, and the entire company. There's now a single source of truth for anything that should be documented in writing, and potentially accessed later by anyone, whether it's meeting minutes for a project, or an important company policy.

  ### 11. User friendly. Has desired functions without becoming over complicated.

Internal standard operating procedures and documentation for team and clients

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Super accessible and easy to use. My team members have no trouble finding or adding knowledge about how we do things.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

I don't have any dislikes about Slab. I only dislike that I struggled through a couple of other knowledge-base systems and wikis before finding Slab!

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Slab as our wiki, which is intended to share and document all knowledge in our organization. One benefit is that it nicely integrates with other tools, like Slack.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

The easily collapsible and organisable side of it. Can easily create topics within topics and navigation stays pretty simple.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

The external sharing function is highly counter-intuitive. There's a 'share URL' button which is only an internal link. Then below an external link box which you have to copy and paste. Would be better to have two CTAs one explicitly for internal and one external sharing.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business wide company knowledge sharing. It's collaborative editing features proves very useful for big projects.

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab creates a cohesive wiki for company knowledge. Plus it makes documentation fun and easy with the easy-to-use interface & collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

The navigation side bar can be better. I'd like to set jumps within a document to later sections.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving our documentation problem! Previously, it was a lot harder to onboard & document how to use different parts of the system. Now, it is a lot easier and more accessible & organized for everyone.

The easy and user-friendly interface and the massive amount of content one may save on the platform.

When there's too many lists/bullets on the side and it takes up almost 1/3 of your screen when there are sub divisions to an article.

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

Difficult to restrict access to posts by for example using teams with inherited access permissions. Creates much extra work having to manually adding members to posts.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all info we need for the future, about projects, and intros for new team members in one place. Also easier to create good posts than to write Google Docs which is more formal and less intuitive

**Reviewed by:** James A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Slab?**

The simplicity of the system, all whilst being extremely feature rich. The search functionality is great, as is the speed of uploading new content, and the ability to integrate with other key systems.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

The table creation feature isn't great and needs attention. You're unable to resize or edit very easily, making the feature extremely difficult to use, to the point where we do not even use it as it causes too much of an issue for the team.

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

Slab is extremely easy to use as well as set up. The team needed little to no training as it's all intuitive and straightforward. The Slab team are extremely helpful and always provide email updates on new features, changes and bug fixes. Its simple to use. Search engine is great and really fast.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

We are from Croatia and in croatian language Slab means "weak" and that is what i dislike the most.

  ### 38. G2 Slab - A Great Piece of Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehdi H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab's Design is one of the many, many great things about Slab. We used to use Notion before, and while it does have features; we wanted something dedicated to storing our Tech Stack and such. And that's where Slab came in for us.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

One Downside to using Slab is that we do have to have more than one tab open at a time. We use Notion and Slack for most of our daily work. And Slab adds more complexity to our Stack and Workflow.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are now able to share Internal Documents with people that we need to help get started. For Example, on one of our Products, Nonprofit Cloud. Users need documentation to be able to get started using the software that is there. We only realized this after we started using the Trial of Slab.

  ### 39. Great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Integrations, speed of search, speed of use.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

I can't underline text. Not sure if that's a feature that's planned, but it seems odd that's missing still.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had previously stored all our docs in Google Docs, but it was slow, cumbersome and search was weak. Slab fixed all that.

  ### 40. Slab is the Wiki You Want

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab doesn't try to be everything or replace Slack. It simply tries to be the best, simplist wiki. Has great formatting for most things.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Tables could use improvements. They are good but I miss the fully featured old JIRA table UX.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my team reviewing software ideas, specs, and project planning.

  ### 41. Slab review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

I like the ease of connectivity between slab and other tools such as slack and GitHub. I use this for my notes while working on projects bc the hotkeys allow for quick not taking as well

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

There are a few things with altering the headers that I wish were easier but its a once a week issue.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had 5000 documents in Google docs and they were unsearchable and you could never find anything. Being able to quickly tag things and having a smart search solves that issue.

  ### 42. Great Internal Document Store

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab makes it easy to create beautiful documents and solicit feedback.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

It's not as searchable as I'd like--you have to rely on internal organization instead of the search bar to find documents.

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

I don't have any specific recommendations

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal document store to share information with teammates.

  ### 43. A simple & elegant BP/SOP repository where every team member willingly contributes - yes, really.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Too many things, but simplicity is foremost. Every other option was bloated with other features, all which created overlap with our other SAAS. Asana does not reposit - as everything is a task, everything in Slack goes to history heaven, and a back-end wordpressy log doesn't allow for ease of use - the real kind where the team can pick it up, and contribute.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

How long it took for slab to exist, and for us to find it (it happened immediately after I found FontReach). In all seriousness - there's not much to dislike, but I do like to wish upon a DEV for things.
Some of the team functionality gets lost, and eventually buried. For example, it's great to comment/call out for contributions, but if you have people flying all over articles and tagging everyone - it is incredibly hard to figure out which comments relate just to me. A dashboard of pending items, recently updated articles (maybe less of showing what, exactly, was edited.
Since I haven't run out of space yet - I could also request dividing sections on the left side - and maybe make it resizable so as to not cut our company name or nested topics (please?)
Finally (this one's nitpicky) - Draw.io changed their name to Diagrams.net

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

All businesses are constantly developing, and sometimes you just want to remember how you did something last time. Onboarding new employees is no longer a chore of repitition.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Slab? We had my notebooks, and processes that I swear I've reiterated 5 times by now. I liked the idea of a knowledgebase, but also know how hard it is to get a team onboard with new software. Anything DIY was too difficult, and anything premade was too feature-rich for my blood, or looked overdone or underdone.

  ### 44. Makes organizing documentation easy

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

- slab manages all the documentation and makes it searchable like a wiki

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- allow the documentation to seachable

  ### 45. Awesome internal Wiki

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hans (Dov) F. | Global Partnerships, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Slab is an easy to use internal Wiki for our company. Before using Slab our department was not well versed in the expertise of the others. Now, we can easily identify their proficiencies and functions.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

All around Slab is pretty comprehensive and the only "con" I can think of is their outdated UI.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Slab, we relied heavily on more veteraned employees to answer questions about our product, integrations, capabilities and more. This lead to many problems including: contradictory answers, slowed responses, and work disruption. Now, we are able to confer with a "definitive" source in real time and be more authoritative in our responses to clients.

  ### 46. I love Slab! Our team uses it to document all our internal processes. Would definitely recommend it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

The documents are easy to be maintained and kept up to date.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

I don't have any significant complaints about Slab.

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

Take your time when learning how to use it.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slab helps us to manage our internal information.

  ### 47. Slab is the best knowledge base for growing teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anurag G. | Founder and CEO, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Slab?**

* Fast page loads
* Really fast and relevant searches (including your Slack messages!)
* Native integrations with Slack, Airtable, GitHub, Google Docs
* A global activity feed which helps track everything going on across the organization.
* Being able to assign multiple topics to a post.
* Auto-index pages.
* Page maintainers and verified pages.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Slab has tables but they're still quite basic. But Airtable and Google Sheets integrations work well, and they're much better at tables than any wiki software will ever be.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using it for all internal documentation at our company, and have already seen improved collaboration vs. Notion which was often frustratingly slow to load. It's also amazing that I can search just one place (Slab) for both documents and Slack conversations.

  ### 48. Slab is the one stop shop for all company resources. You can always find the answer in Slab

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Upsides: All resources/FAQs are compiled in Slab

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Downsides: Can be hard to locate resources

**Recommendations to others considering Slab:**

Use it!

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having no problems! Benefit is eliminating asking questions of your team and finding the answer yourself

  ### 49. Easy and intuative to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Very simple to use. Easy place to knowledge dump

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

Not top of page when google search. Makes very little difference but its a nice QOL upgrade.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central place to knowledge dump

  ### 50. Best Documentation Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Slab?**

Extremely easy to use. The editor is very cool and the code blocks have the option to select and apply syntax highlights for all major programming languages.

**What do you dislike about Slab?**

The subtopics do not show up in the topic page like the posts do.

**What problems is Slab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing technical documentation of all our different products. So that any one joining the team can get started easily and to keep a reference.
