I suggest they take another look at AI integration. While the tool is amazing, and the idea behind it is great as well, a similar tool with stronger AI could end up monopolizing the space. Sometimes the tool also feels like too much: there are too many tabs, and it can get confusing.

There are quite a lot of elements available and while that helps with analysis, we don't currently track such details in our hris and it will obviously be a time consuming endeavor to do so. I wouldn’t say there’s anything I dislike about SkillPanel itself. One challenge, though, is that in organizations where several systems are used in parallel, it can sometimes take extra time to record comments or updates in SkillPanel. This is mainly a result of working across multiple tools, rather than a limitation of the platform.

In addition, as a learning organization, we need to align other documents and internal processes with the system to use it effectively. My main concern is the risk of overcomplexity. SkillPanel offers a very granular overview of skills, high number of features, and sophisticated models but I feel they could become difficult to navigate for some less tech-savvy stakeholders. The challenge is often not collecting more skills data, but making it truly actionable, understandable and aligned with strategic business priorities.
