"Impressive Visual Skills Map and Strong Competency Tracking"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

For me the visual skills map is the standout feature. It's genuinely impressive and unlike anything I've seen in other HR tools. The ability to map employee competencies, set competency(mastery) levels by role, and see how individuals measure up against any job position in the organisation addresses a real gap in workforce management and planning.

The three-tier rating system (self, supervisor and expert) adds real credibility to the data. Rather than relying on self-scores managers can also review skills and competencies, also showing any gaps in individual vs. management perspectives. The certificate management section is also excellent - clean, easy to action, and clear visibility of what's expiring and when.

For anyone who has worked in a large or multi-site organisation, the internal succession planning and mobility potential is significant. Being able to run a report showing which employees are the best fit for a vacant role (clearly ranked by percentage) could meaningfully reduce the time and cost of recruitment from the internal pool of applicants. What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

The platform's biggest challenge is the gap between data depth and usability. In several sections the interface feels like it reflects a developer's perspective rather than an HR professional's workflow, which at times made it difficult to extract actionable insights quickly.

The Report Builder is powerful but requires more configuration knowledge than most HR users will have without guidance. It took several attempts to produce a readable result, and some common use cases (like excluding employees already in a role when searching for internal candidates) aren't currently supported.

Finally, the Learning Hub currently only supports URL-based content, which means SCORM files (which is the industry standard format for e-learning) can't be uploaded. This would require a separate LMS running alongside SkillPanel for any organisation with existing training content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SkillPanel Makes Skills Visibility and Job Fit Assessment Effortless"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

SkillPanel's comprehensive overview of employee skills and experience is a game-changer. With a few clicks, I can assess the health of a department or the company at large in terms of required and available skills. The platform is responsive, intuitive, easy to use, updates quickly without lags, and new user onboarding is simple. Once self-rating is done by onboardees, the system intuits several useful features (eg. job recommendations). I also appreciate that it has the ability to assess job fit based on predefined skills. What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

Reports downloaded into Excel can be a bit more robust. The platform itself already does an exceptional job of compiling reports and giving the ability to cross-reference and compare. However, if further off-platform analysis is desired, it would be good if the same level of detail translated to to these excel exports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Clear, Well-Designed Dashboard for Tracking Skills and Development"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

What I like most is how clearly well thought-out the dashboard feels. As an HR Consultant and L&D specialist, it’s one of the easiest ways I’ve found to track employees, their skills, gaps, and current status in a structured, consistent way.

It simplifies something that’s usually scattered and difficult to manage, and it also helps connect skill data to real decisions around training and development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

What I feel could be improved is the lack of deeper action-oriented features. Skills should ideally be rated more clearly to make comparisons and decisions easier.

It would also be helpful to have built-in PIP or IDP tracking, so that identified gaps can directly translate into structured development plans.

Additionally, stronger AI integration could make the dashboard more powerful by supporting decisions around ROI, promotions, or even terminations, instead of just presenting data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Skills Management and Talent Intelligence"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

SkillPanel provides a structured view of skills, competency mapping, and learning alignment, which makes it useful for workforce planning and talent development/management. I found the skills management framework and learning hub especially valuable because they help connect identified skill gaps with relevant development opportunities. The reporting structure is also well organized and gives management visibility into employee capabilities and areas requiring

improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

SkillPanel is a strong platform overall, with a solid foundation in skills intelligence and workforce planning. There are, however, a few areas where enhancements could further strengthen the user experience. For example, some data views could benefit from improved consistency and clarity to support easier interpretation. The career path functionality would be more impactful if it included role descriptions, competency requirements, and progression guidance rather than listing positions only. Additionally, certain workflows, such as certification tracking and goal scoring, could be more streamlined and clearly structured to improve usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Game Changer for Proactive Talent Management"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

I love SkillPanel's ability to map and structure skills, which brings significant added value in aligning workforce capabilities with strategic direction. It supports internal mobility, succession planning, and targeted development initiatives. I also find the transition from reactive hiring to a more proactive and structured approach to talent management very beneficial by leveraging internal capabilities and anticipating future needs. The initial setup was very easy, SkillPanel is a powerful solution for companies looking to scale by building the right capabilities for the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

some sections such as goals or instant feedback could be better aligned with L&D objectives to avoid overlap with traditional HRIS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Skillpanel Is a Gold Mine for Skills-Based HR and People Development"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

For companies that want to invest in their people and help them achieve success, Skillpanel is a gold mine. From an HR perspective, this tool can support multiple departments, such as L&D and workforce planning, by providing data to work with. Skillpanel really helps shift HR from a generic, or even vague, approach to a clear and consistent skills-based approach.

Additionally, Skillpanel can also be used for employer branding. We live in times when candidates are increasingly interested not only in cash compensation, but in the total package. Having a tool that helps employees or potential employees understand where they are now, what they still need to reach their goals, and the clear steps to get there is truly valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

I suggest they take another look at AI integration. While the tool is amazing, and the idea behind it is great as well, a similar tool with stronger AI could end up monopolizing the space. Sometimes the tool also feels like too much: there are too many tabs, and it can get confusing.

Integration with other tools, many companies will have different tools for recruiting, HR operations, LD, this shall be taken into account how Skillpanel integrates with other softs, where they might have common ground etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Easy-to-Navigate Dashboard with Manager-Friendly Insights"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

Clean visuals and layout. Easy to navigate. Insights dashboard has great information for a manager to start their reserach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

The Skills Map design just did not connect with me on the surface level. It had some good details as you drilled down into it, but the initial response is "what am i looking at" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SkillPanel?

SkillPanel allows companies to own their growth. The easy to use style allows management to quantify, support and track development within a company. It also gives rich data for review and in a manner that allows managers to use it for strategic purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

The lack of AI integration. This is not a dislike rather serious potential, I think if implemented right SkillPanel could change the way companies develop talent and innovate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive talent management tool"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

The solution is very detailed and allows for measuring and reporting on multiple skill and talent categories for the talent team. This is incredibly helpful for both assessing internal skill sets, evaluation of skills required for roles and identification of talent for bench strength or pivoting roles required for moving the business in a different direction. In particular the consulting industry and financial industry could benefit from such a tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

There are quite a lot of elements available and while that helps with analysis, we don't currently track such details in our hris and it will obviously be a time consuming endeavor to do so. It would be helpful if the tool is able to pull this information off job descriptions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Innovative Talent Management Platform with Excellent UXUI"
What do you like best about SkillPanel?

The product itself is innovative, placing data at the center of talent management operations. I believe that talent intelligence will become essential for any company that relies heavily on a structured HR blueprint.

The UX/UI aligns with the standards of a modern, data-driven platform, and I particularly appreciated the Skill Map Manager. Being able to view all the skills within a company with just one click is truly a dream come true.

Overall, the platform can strongly support workforce organization by providing clear visibility into both internal and external skills required for effective talent management and recruitment operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SkillPanel?

For me, the platform definitely addresses an important market need, and with some further development, it could cover an even broader part of the HR spectrum. Strengthening the connections between features where HR teams often face challenges—such as learning, performance reviews, talent management, and even engagement! This could make the overall ecosystem even more powerful. At the moment, these components are heading in the right direction but are not yet fully aligned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
