"Sanity is easy and friendly to use."
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

The community is friendly and helpful. Whenever there is an issue, and I get stuck, the Sanity community helps me find my way. Our company uses Sanity as a data collector for our Cognitive Therapy Reading game. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I really can't say that there is anything specifically that I dislike. Whenever anyone on our team uses Sanity for our project, they all find it easy and can get help quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Most Reliable Headless CMS I have ever used"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is a lifesaver. I was searching for a good CMS for my blogging site that can be maintained by members of my clubs but was unable to find any free CMS to use that can also allow more than 2 members to collaborate and maintain. It is so easy to use and implement. I Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I have yet to find any downside to using Sanity. So easy to implement. Got the NExtJS template of the blogging site and used it. Great Integration techniques. Thanks to the sanity team to give us so much features that also free of cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I like to have my schema defined together with my code, this way, I'm sure that the schema is versioned correctly with the project this is very easy to use and implement, and it's also very easy to integrate with plugins that are created by the community, like the plugin table, color, youtube, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The GROQ query language is very versatile but sometimes time is hard to get all the fields that I want or to fetch them correctly, maybe if GraphQL has all GROQ features it will help to have an alternative with complex queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"very flexible cms setup, anything can be done, easy to build"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

It's a blank slate setup with very good building blocks to start with. Once you need fields/features it's just javascript, so you can make whatever you need. Out of the box all data fields a basic website would use are available. These block are easily extendable to make your own variation. Since it is fully build in typescript it's easy to find your way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

setting things up in js files has a slight learning curve compared to competitors where you just click the fields in place in a visual ui. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great customisable experience to tailor it for your use cases"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

One of the great things (among other very great things) is the ability to customise the entire editing experience for the content and data of your business. Sanity makes very little assumptions about the type of content you need to create, and allows for easy creation of content types and interface structure.

The onboarding by the Sanity team was very well done too. A number of sessions were organised to showcase several features of the editing experience for both content editors as well as developers. This made for a smooth integration into our application landscape.

Our content editors are now using it on a daily basis much to their liking, and we will enjoy working with Sanity in the future as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Since Sanity doesn't make any assumptions about the content or data in the system, you have to think about a number of cases yourself. While this may sound as a bit of a downside, it also allows you (or even forces you) to make some very deliberate and thoughtful choices regarding your content, structure and interface configuration, making for a better editing experience in the end. "Makes everybody happy"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I find the way to customize the CMS reasonably easy. So far, I have used it in production once. I want to use it more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I wish there were more generous free usage. I use it for minimal websites that don't have traffic at all. But I wish there was a starter plan that allowed lots of projects in a free or reasonably priced plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Ideal Fit for Museums"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

What I like best about Sanity is its unmatched flexibility for structuring and managing complex content types. In a museum setting, we need a CMS that can handle diverse content, like artifacts, exhibits, event information, and educational resources, each with unique fields and relationships. Sanity allows us to define custom schemas for each content type, making it easy to organize and connect pieces of content without compromising on structure or scalability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Getting started takes a bit of steep learning curve - we had to model out our entire data structure and taxonomy, and since we are such a unique use case, we had little to model off from. This led to us having to learn a lot by trial and error and it took us a while to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Flexible and Powerful CMS for Authors and Creators"
4/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

As an author, I appreciate how Sanity adapts to my workflow, letting me shape the content management experience to my needs rather than forcing me into rigid templates. Its customizable interface lets me organize my content, and set up fields as I envision. Plus, Sanity’s real-time editing and live preview mean I can see changes instantly, making it much easier to tweak and refine content. The onboarding and support have been fantastic, with a well-structured process that made setup and learning smooth and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

For an author, one downside of Sanity is that it doesn’t come with the kind of out-of-the-box features you might find in other content management systems. For example, simple tasks like setting up rich text formatting or handling media require some configuration, which may feel like a hurdle if you're looking for a plug-and-play experience. Additionally, Sanity’s flexibility means there’s a bit of a learning curve, especially if you’re used to more traditional CMS setups with predefined templates. While the platform is incredibly powerful, the initial setup can be time-consuming and may require technical support to get the authoring environment just right. "Great experience so far"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I work with Sanity as a developer.

I like to use groq. It is a simple and easy-to-understand query language. A lot of data can be retrieved with a query without the need for post-processing.

I often write migrations for content. I like the new migrations interface, it's simple.

Everything works very quickly. Sometimes I write a query and think about how long it's going to be because I'm transferring my experience with relational databases. But no, the queries are fast, although the amount of data that is returned in the response can be very large.

Working with the studio is also a joy. You create document models, and the user interface structure, and you're all set.

I've heard that Sanity has good tech support, but I've always had enough documentation to solve problems.

Working with Sanity is my secondary responsibility. Despite this, the tools the company provides are simple and powerful, my decisions don't suffer for my lack of expertise in the field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

It's hard to find something that annoys me as a developer.

Once I had to use the studio @internal hook to make the interface reactive ( make a calculated field, basically), even though it seemed to be quite a common functionality.

One update broke my custom component once (I was counting on the onChange prop being stable since it's a function).

It's all small things. I can't think of anything I don't like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A competent content management system"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Very flexible system that can accommodate practically any data structure. Can be quickly set up to handle simpler use cases, but also very customizable to handle specific scenarios. The studio can be configured to organize the content even when there are a lot of different document types and it is also possible to customize the entire form, or individual inputs, to handle special cases with validation or other massaging of user input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Without enterprise support it might seem hard to get non-community based support. Some feature directions are more focused towards integrating fetching sanity data per specific page/feature to your app (which is probably fine in "smaller" situations). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
