"Fantastic Headless CMS for Astro"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is easy to set up, configure and customize to your needs. It supports most features out of the box and you can even expand on it with custom plugins. There is a great community creating custom plugins. It was super easy to integrate with Astro. Never had to contact customer support for help. We use Sanity frequently for client projects and they always think its easy to administer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

User interface is a bit bland. Should be able to customize the theme more Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great customizability without sacrificing on content editing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

We love how we can have a truly custom data model and still have non-developers easily write their content. The fact that the entire studio structure can be customized is also a big plus, which eases the use for content writers and lets us organize documents however we want. It is also great to integrate with NextJS with documentation often written with NextJS in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

There's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to complex schemas that go beyond just primitives, especially for content blocks. While content blocks allow us to implement our own custom nodes (which is very nice), it can sometimes feel a bit scary/unstable to add our custom definitions and query them appropriately. GROQ querying is also something that can be scary, especially for type-safe environments. Though Sanity has recently started working on automatic type inference from GROQ queries, I think it still has some work to be done. In the meantime, we're using groqd to make type-safe queries. "Absolutely Game-Changing"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Coming from a traditional CMS like sitecore, sanity absolutely blew my mind. The content-driven approach was a completely different perspective for me. Sanity is super easy to integrate and implement into your application. There are a plethora of features and plugins to customize your experience. Sanity's community and team are super prompt, be assured you can always find a solution to your problem. I am using Sanity studio almost everyday now to manage content for our agency website and its just made life so much easier! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Some features of sanity can have a learning curve for content-authors but I believe that will be resolved once Sanity Create is integrated into the studio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best CMS for Headless"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Visual editing, live preview and click-to-edit are game changing. As the Head of Engineering for a digital agency, I've worked with tens of CMS' over the past 16 years, and nothing comes close to the feeling of clicking things on your website and changing them. Sanity gives you this super power as a table stake, and then so much more.

I also love the flexibility to change the CMS as needed. I can add entirely new field types, change the UI of existing field types, and even replace entire sections of the CMS with my own code. It gives me a turnkey CMS with amazing feature that gets out of the way when I need it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The media library is lacking compared to other CMS. It needs a better integration into the core product, as picking media and setting meta data is quite clunky. It also doesn't have folders, relying only on tags. And you can't set tags on an image when adding it to a document easily. It could really do with improvement Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible headless solution with lightning fast API"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

The Sanity API is lightning fast, which makes it a perfect choice for many use cases. The relatively standardised interface allows it to focus on the end-user functionality instead of the authoring experience.

Implementation definitely requires a developer, but is straight-forward.

The flexible structure allowed us to use Sanity not only for web content, but also for product data management (with a relatively complex product/variant model), store management, etc.

The combination of webhooks and GROQ (the query language) allows it to be integrated super easily to other systems (e.g. using Zapier or any other tool). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

There is a plan between Growth and Enterprise missing. Some features (e.g. roles) are only available for enterprise plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our Goto Headless CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Having used Sanity for a number of years it has become our unwavering Goto CMS. Sanity was a breath of fresh air and aligned perfectly with our product delivery expectations. Through Sanity, blank canvas it is intuitive to create concise data architectures that avoid all the pitfalls such complexity can create. Client training has almost become an afterthought if needed at all with customizable validation and custom components allowing for specific interfaces suitable for the use case. Recent additions such as Sanity Live have been a godsend in avoiding the old 'it's Cached' client experience. With Sanity's almost limitless potential and application flexibility, I see this continuing to be our Goto for years to come. Also, pricing is very reasonable, there is an active community, clear documentation, and lots of new innovations and refinements being added all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Not much. Better native media library and file management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Your best web development pal"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

First of all, I like the way you can create your data schema and its powerful query language, GROQ! GROQ's ability to shape responses precisely and efficiently is impressive. Additionally, the new live update component for Next.js significantly enhances the experience of updating and publishing new content in real-time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The only missing feature was the internationalization support for the UI. However, Sanity now supports multiple languages for the UI, except for the field titles. I know that this feature is coming soon as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sanity is a perfect balance of customizability and simplicity"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is highly customizable without being overly complex. It gives developers a lot of power to tailor the platform to their organization's needs, and since it's all JavaScript or TypeScript, the barriers to entry are low. Queries are robust and flexible, and it is a truly headless system that allows structured content to flow nearly anywhere. The pricing plans, support, new feature development, and platform administration are first-class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Sanity may be overkill for some use cases, and there is a bit of a learning curve for customizing and utilizing basic things like the rich text editor or image pipeline—but in the end, that pays off in flexibility and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An amazing structured content system with a UI CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Incredibly easy to get started and very flexible to handle any type of structured data. The customizable CMS that comes with Sanity is fantastic. It is open source and can be modified to suit our needs nicely. The features within Sanity such as the CDN, asset management, plugins make it so nice to customize everything for our clients.

The Sanity team is constantly adding new features and upgrades. They do an incredible job adding more and more value to their product. They listen to their customers and respond to any issues quickly.

With the community support along with Sanity's team you can always find help as well as code snippets or plugins for almost anything you need to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

So far, I haven't run into anything that I haven't been able to accomplish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great CMS that is always improving!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

My favorite thing about Sanity is the flexibility of content first design. The studio allows me to customize for every client. Sanity feels like a developer first CMS, always taking feedback and improving. Having typings created directly for the rest of the application is perfect.

I love that you are able to add back to the community so easily as well!

Here is an example of how we added a plugin to add your podcast RSS feed.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Sanity Studio embedded is a game changer, but I don't like having to keep something like this updated along with our application. When something can break our build pipeline this has a big impact.

Not having daily backups is a huge negative for us. Right now I run a separate cron job running to do this each night. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
