"Everyone should try Sanity!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I've been using Sanity for about 4 years now, and what I love most about it is the flexibility and developer-friendly approach. Sanity allows me to structure content exactly how I need it. And the latest features added with live content, typegen and visual editing is superb!

We are a small agency building websites, e-commerce sites and internal systems for B2B customers, and Sanity if our go-to platform every time. It's quick and easy to implement, and takes only a couple of hours if we have a good predefined structure in mind.

Performance-wise, Sanity is super fast and everyone gotta love the GROQ query language. I think Sanity is overall the best headless CMS, but also the best option for other content heavy projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

While I love Sanity, one thing that can be frustrating is that the Portable Text editor sometimes feels a little buggy. Pasting content into it can be tricky, and getting the formatting right isn’t always smooth. It occasionally requires extra tweaking to make things look the way I want. Other than that, it’s a fantastic platform! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best CMS around hands down"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity.io has a brilliant balance, catering to both the content creator and the developer. Allowing ease of use in both areas while allowing an extraordinary level of customization for your datasets. Any issues I had while learning the ropes have been quickly solved on the Sanity.io Slack page by both the Sanity.io Development team and the large and supportive community. Sanity has continued to grow and improve over the years and I am even more likely to recommend its use now than I ever have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

More advanced personalization and customization are pretty daunting to those unfamiliar with the suite. At the same time, there are some quality resources and documentation on their site. I would appreciate more step-by-step tutorials on more advanced and varied concepts and use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean UI, no bugs, very easy to use"
4/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I just started using Sanity as a marketing person and moving all of our content to Sanity structure. The UI is great, soo understandable from a marketer perspective. Also, there are no bugs at all while entering content, it's so easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I wish there was a way to scrape content from the website and then edit, add new visuals etc but I know it's a lot to ask :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best developer experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity offers an outstanding developer experience with a modern, flexible approach to content management. The ability to define schemas in code is a game-changer—it keeps everything in source control and makes collaboration seamless. The real-time collaboration, structured content approach, and powerful APIs make it a joy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The learning curve for GROQ can be a bit steep initially, but it’s a powerful query language once you get the hang of it. Definitely not a deal-breaker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sanity is my go to!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I like how I can tailor the experience for the user. Every time I demo the set up in sanity I am met with very happy clients. The ability to configure the structure and layout of the inputs and documents makes it so easy to design a system that fits the mental model for the project. That along with the ability to create custom inputs quite easily allows us to create a custom experience for the client that makes it way more intuitive. The ease of use and ease of implementation has made me always go to this as a solution first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I wish it was easier to get the referenced content when running a groq query. It would be nice to have a way to say when I'm querying something like say the block element that might have references to other documents within it to not have to dig into the query to get the reference but instead just say always give me everything recursively. "Great Solution that keeps getting better!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity is stable, scalable, and has been continuously improving for the last 4 years since we've adopted the same. We have used Sanity and tons of integrations, including with Mux, SEO plugins, and more. As an agency, we've deployed Sanity in multiple installations with our clients across media, e-commerce, and more. Even their pricing model has improved and has up to 20 seats included in their free tier now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

I feel that their SAML SSO addon pricing is on the higher end of what my clients would love to typically shell out :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Really really good BUT....."
4/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I love how you can customise and get the data you want in the structure you decide. It's amazing having control over everything in your own config. So many possibilities going forward! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

For a beginner, it's still tough. The desk tool is excellent but very difficult to customise to display the correct information in the right way for your content creators. I see that there are some new tutorials which (I will admit I have not completed) have helped somewhat in understanding how to customise from a learner's perspective. This is an excellent move forward to help build amazing pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sanity rules!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I like the flexibility of the platform, and how critical data concerns are handled by Sanity's team while less critical aspects - such as the frontend for your data lake - are self-hosted and subject to version control, and easily extendable with an awesome plugin ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The documentation around using the renderStudio function, as opposed to a standalone app, could be better (had to dig to find the hash routing feature) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tailored Client Experiences Made Easy with Sanity"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

The best thing about Sanity is the ease in creating a tailored experience for your clients. Sanity's flexibility and customization options make it incredibly helpful in building a content management experience that perfectly fits the needs of each of my projects. Creating custom input components has been so helpful—provide an intuitive, streamlined interface for me clients. I love being able to fine-tune every aspect of Sanity to my exact specifications. This level of control and customization is invaluable in delivering an exceptional experience for my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The main downside of Sanity isn't about the platform itself but rather the perception many clients have. Unfortunately WordPress is still such a dominant name in the CMS world. So, it can be challenging to convince certain clients that Sanity is a better fit for their needs. This doesn't reflect poorly on Sanity, but it’s an annoyance when working with clients unfamiliar with its capabilities. Haha.

Another minor downside is that Sanity lacks a multi-select feature for array fields. Additionally, the absence of a built-in sorting selection for array fields can be a little confusing to users. These are relatively small issues in the grand scheme of things, though, and don’t detract significantly from how powerful and flexible the platform is overall. "An incredibly helpful and beginner friendly product"
5/5
What do you like best about Sanity?

I started freelance website development in 2021 and had no idea about CMS's or how to use them. Sanity was the clear outstander for me and made it incredibly easy to setup and get going with content management with NextJS (and react previously). Since then I have used Sanity for all my clients and, with the easy customisation, have had compliments on how easy the studio is to use, even if the person isn't that tech orientated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

While the guidance and docs for simple tasks like setup and schema creation is simple and easy to use, I think they could be improved for more complicated tasks, like studio customisation or live preview. For these things, I normally would have to use a forum or 3rd party instructions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
