I like how multiple people can work on a document, but the whole thing sounds cohesive because we are drawing from a common source. It makes production much more streamlined. Previous production processes were the dreaded cut and paste from prior reports, which introduced a lot of errors. As someone new to the organization, I did not have the deep product knowledge needed to know where content resided. RocketDocs put everything in one place, so that I didn't have to know our proposal history. RocketDocs also helps us to have more confidence in the content, and easily identify outdated content.
Uploading legacy proposals and mining the content is a relatively painless process, which is nice. It's allowed us to leverage prior content more effectively.
Of course, the ability to enter codes for information like client name, state, etc., is wonderful. It virtually eliminates the possibility of having a previous client or product name sneak in accidentally. The codes are easy to set up and maintain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm hopeful that the new release will address many issues. I dislike how some crucial functions of Word were disabled or made unavailable in the previous versions, like simply seeing the page and word counts at the bottom of the screen. Also, the entire File menu was unavailable, so it was impossible to access advanced display and proofing options.
Sometimes when I am inserting content, I see something that needs to be changed. It would be nice to have the option to change and save the content right there, rather than open a different screen to edit and save the content. Again, this may be something addressed in the new version.
I would love to see a more robust help community or help resources. It would also be nice to have more flexibility to customize content attributes. Many of them we don't use and it would be great to repurpose those as a text box, or check box, without the program limiting what we can do.
The proposal assembly process is unclear. I think it would be helpful, but it could be more intuitive to use. Version control of content could be easier. Again, I'm hopeful that this will be addressed in the new version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
