## QuarkXPress Reviews
  ### 1. Quark Powerful Page Layout Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grice W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like the depth of detail you can manipulate and specify, whether it's dimensions, spacing, colors, etc. You can manage a ridiculous amount of specific things down to fractions of a degree. The ability to import multiple photos and have it create a box for each one is a nice update.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Quark is a complicated program to use, and takes some getting used to where things are on menus and how to find your way around before you feel very efficient. For me, it sometimes prints to PDF without activating the URLs as links. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but it's been frustrating to try and diagnose and troubleshoot something that should be so basic.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

take training to help you learn the program faster. Lots online.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Quark for proposals and marketing/business development where I have a lot of text and need to flow around a lot of boxes containing text or images.

  ### 2. Some what difficult to use compared to other programs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like the control of Pantone colors and swatches the best. The introduction of bleed in the 2021 version is long overdue

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Somewhat clunky in layout and design of the program, 2019 version not compatible with big sur, no eyedropper tool, can't adjust margins once the document is created, cannot duplicate spread.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Print and design workflow in a timely manner

  ### 3. I'm a Quark XPress lifer!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen C. | Contract Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

The ease of setting and manipulating type/text. I work in a text heavy industry and being able to set text quickly and without struggle is critical. This is one of the biggest edges I think Quark still has on InDesign.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

That you can't have different layout sizes within one document. I work with a lot of digital display and it would be easier to be able to have all of my ads within one document. 300x600, 728x90, 1200x628, etc. This is one area where InDesign has an edge. (please take note and work on this!)

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

This is a great application that will give you just about everything you need in a layout program. I tried to make the switch to InDesign, I did...the industry is really pushing us designers that way but I have to say I don't get it. I've been using Quark now for over 25 years and it's still my go to.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of Quark are many. It's user friendly and adds great new features with each update.

  ### 4. Quark is great, but use of some features is obtuse.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark is extremely flexible, and allows very precise control over text, graphic elements, spacing, etc.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Compatibility updates sometimes take a while to come out.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

n/a

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quark XPress allows me to create and manipulate customers' files as well as my own projects.

  ### 5. Excellent Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Nonprofit, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I was very impressed with the customer service provided by Lohit Aora. I had problems with my installation and he provided outstanding support, resolving the issue with kindness, patience and professionalism.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Nothing to report, so far. I am very satisfied.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QuarkXPress is very user-friendly.

  ### 6. QuarkXPress is an Invaluable Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

With QuarkXPress it's very easy to navigate through the pages.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Sometimes it's difficult to find certain features, such as italics.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QuarkXPress is the most essential tool for me to proofread the magazine clearly and see how it's all laid out.

  ### 7. Great Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

The usability of QuarkXPress is great. I use it for more than 10 years now and run almost every update.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

There is nothing I dislike. Also the usage is great.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do our firm Report as printed version with QuarkXPress

  ### 8. QuarkXPress2021

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like the new fresh look & ease of operation

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I was hoping no need upgrade based on my Mac OS.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Enjoy the new updated version

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can now help my client with beautiful designs. Easy to do layouts

  ### 9. QuarkXPress

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I have not used QuarkXPress for several years. I switched to InDesign and feel that QuarkXPress is a slimmed-down version of InDesign. It is easy to use, especially for new users.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The only thing I don't like about QuarkXPress is that it's not very robust. I switched to InDesign because of this.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QuarkXPress is excellent for layout design, especially where you need to be precise on the placement of text and images.

  ### 10. My Quark Experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beverly F. | Senior Proofreader, Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I've always used Quark, so it's intuitive for me.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The updater pops up all the time, freezes, and I cannot get rid of it.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From a simple layout to multi-page documents and creating indexes...

  ### 11. Quark is my go to software for page layout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan W. | P, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like how easy it is to use Quark, it is the first program I learned to use approximately in 1991 and even though I have InDesign I am more comfortable with Quark.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Very little, occasionally there will be something that comes up that would be nice to be able to do in Quark but to be honest nothing comes to mind and there are probably things that the software will do but I need something fast and figure out a work around versus looking up if I can do it in Quark.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

If you are an experienced InDesign user you will find some things in different places and some of the keyboard shortcuts are different. Or if you are new to this type of software just take your time and work your way into some of the basics because any of this software that is for page layout and or graphic design can be a bit complicated for a novice.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No real problems just familiar with the software and so I can get print files ready more quickly.

  ### 12. bad utility book functionality, insufficient separation of character style from paragraph style

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

when exporting to html5, I get relatively clean code

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

meaningless linking of character style and paragraph style

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm typesetting a larger publication, and the book utility refuses to import some .qxp files

  ### 13. QuarkXPress review 2021

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Able to make accurate measurements and link pics and text

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

You need to use regularly or you forget how to use complex tools

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

setting up designs accurately, benefits -easy to be updated regularly

  ### 14. Best Software for Desktop Publishing Ever!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like ease of use and intuitive features.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Dislike inability to save in more formats.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of moving from operating systems on different computers...i.e.; Macintosh files to Microsoft files.

  ### 15. My Essential Design and Layout Tool I Use Every Day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I've been using Quark Xpress for over 20 years, since before its major competitors existed. It does everything I need it to do, has rich features for implementing and adding non-destructive filters to images, saving me a step of going to a photo editing tool. It can export web an email-ready images and PDFs which are perfect for offset printing. I keep discovering advanced features in it (even after all these years) that help with my workflow. I can't imagine doing graphic design without it.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I work on a Mac and annually I'm not able to join the excitement of updating to the new version of Mac OS when it's released because Quark takes a few extra weeks to update its software to confirm conpatibility.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of having to use multiple apps to create the types of media I need is solved as I can do everything within the one app.

  ### 16. Excellent program, difficult customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I’ve been QuarkXPress since 2.5. I love the control over every element, the intuitive use of tools, and the ability to key stroke just about every facet of using the program. It is my primary document development program and word processor.

I have been an avid user to the point where I taught Beginner through advanced QuarkXPress in a graphic design program for a college.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Since I have been using it since early 90s, I have a lot of old documents that I occasionally need to access. It is impossible to open old documents in a new version without a converter, and the converter may or may nit be functional. QXP should embed a converter to open old documents on the fly or at least keep the stand alone converter up to date.

While each person I speak to in Quark’s customer service group is very nice and helpful, it has been 6 years that I have tried to get my account functional.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Quark is not for those seeking a simple solution nor an easy word processor. The learning curve is relatively steep, but once you get a few of the basics, the learning more complex parts and advanced processes is fast. Once you’re comfortable with Quark, it is super easy, fast, and stable. I once talked someone through building a brochure over the phone, while I was in a disaster area without access to a computer.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Quark for my projects and use InDesign when I have a client that needs it. Quark is far easier, dependable, intuitive, and printer friendly. I can work in both and get what I want done, but my blood pressure is considerably lower with Quark.

  ### 17. Good Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniele Z. | Programmatore Senior, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark is fast, light, many controls, many panels and embedded graphics.
I have been using quark since version 6. Today I use the 2020 version and I am very happy.
Every now and then I find some bugs or malfunctions, but the assistance is very good.
When it is not resolved with an email they call me on the phone or in the remote desktop and solve it.
For the moment I am happy and will continue to use it. The export formats are complete.
Activation software is fast and simply.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

In the 2019 version the toolbar was incomplete, and commands were missing. Now with the 2020 version it has been resolved.
The style palette of the table is not easy to use, perhaps it should be simplified.
In the image box there is no longer the path to the image and the file name. It was very useful to recognize the image.
Hyperlinks are not easy to use. When creating an anchor it cannot be used multiple times.
Personal preferences are often lost after upgrades

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Maximum attention to upgrades to maintain compatibility of previous files.
Keep the options and preferences from the previous version.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have always used quark for digital layout of newspapers, brochures, advertising graphics. very good.
In books with very long layouts I can work with small files without having problems of slowness.
The typography has never had any problems with the pdf format created by quark xpress.
Many image formats are positive for quarks.

  ### 18. Review by Knut

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Knut B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I started out in the late 1980's to use "Ready-Set-Go" as a desktop publishing program and then switched to Quark beginning of the 1990's. So I use Quark for about 30 years now.
I don't really know any other program to compare Quark with so I can't say what I like 'best' other then it gets my job done to create catalogues.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

1)
Back in the 1990's Photoshop did not require to add any endings on file names, for example.jpg, tif, . Consequently I created 1000's of picture and graphic files which I used up to today.
The BIG trouble is that when you created a catalogue, say, in 1997 and continued to upgrade this catalogue using much of the same graphics and pictures files you ran into a big trouble after Quark began to require a file name ending.
For a couple of years this was mitigated by if you placed the Quark file INSIDE the folder which all your graphics and pictures it would create an OUTPUT file using the existing graphics without file name ending.
This now has stopped. I now have to add a file name ending on each of graphics files of which I have over 5000. In order to do so I have to open EACH file in photoshop to first find out what the file type is, close the file and then add this suffix to the file name.
I needed to do that with my last catalogue and it took me 2 days of work. I still have 4 catalogues left with about 600 pages and thousands of graphic files which needs updating.

2)
Back about 6 years ago I had so much trouble opening existing Quark files after I got updated versions it created havoc for me. Some of which was fixed by your tech support but all this is needless time waste.

3)
Tech support used to be an arrogant corporate affair. You were treated like a criminal trying to rob the Quark company in Switzerland. You needed so much phone numbers, e-mail, passwords etc. it was extremely customer unfriendly.
It has gone better now as I did sign for tech support. But last time when I had a problem Quark support was not able to log into my desktop at all. That took me the better of 2 days to get a simple issue resolved being on the phone for hours.

4)
I have to interact with web-designers and translators (in Canada we publish everything in English and French). Because Quark had lost it's customer base nearly ALL of our contractors I work with have given up on Quark long time ago and now use In-Design. Consequently they use old and previous Quark versions so I have to downsave sometimes to 3 or 4 versions back.
The only reason I have not switched to In-Design is that I am too lazy and too afraid about problem during this process.

If it wasn't for Connie Fennell at your support I would have switched to In-Design long time ago. Kudoos to her !

5)
Then there is this little problem of H&J's which after more than 30 years is still a miracle to me. Over the years tried several times to get help but I think this question is too stupid that your support always refers me back to the instructions which does not make any sense to me.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Quark for desktop publishing and some marketing materials only.

The issue I am running into is that more and more companies do not use Quark anymore and I run into non-acceptance of Quark files.

  ### 19. Complex program, but incredible design results.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janelle B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

The completeness to create very sophisticated documents. Once you get the hang of it, it's really quite perfect. I figured out how to use it by myself.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Not too many people use Quark so if you are sending a Quark document, you should make sure that person also uses Quark, or it would be best to convert it to another format. It will save you time emailing back and forth!

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Talk with people who use it. Examine documents produced on Quark XPress. Check out Google and compare it to Pages, InDesign. That should help.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just learning Quark by experimentation was time-consuming, but I anticipated this would be the case. Once I learned how to navigate the program, it's my go-to application for documents that need to look designed and sophisticated. Once I have a template created on Quark, everything becomes very simple for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, documents.

  ### 20. Superb tool based on latest technology with all essential features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan B. | Digital marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

This software is equipped with so many features that it’s hard to describe all. It provides me full support to automate my sales processes through its AI and ML driven engine. I am in a better position to create quality content with easy tracking and also I can design new social media, mobile applications. It is helping me to manage my sales assets and also to handle the marketing department has become very easy as I can handle the content Hubs and mange the distribution.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

One of the drawbacks is that it is quite expensive. In addition the regular and most cheap plan lack many basic features so it restricts its usage for the small organizations. Sometimes I found its customer service to be ineffective.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Thanks to QuarkXpress that has enabled me to design, Build and Personalize experiences so that I can deliver best services to my audience, you must give it a try.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall this amazing tool is integrated with CRM, Social selling and Microsoft office suit due to which it is very easy for me to manage the multi channels and I have the detailed analysis about the entire working as well. If I talk about digital publication than it facilitates me much by providing features like photo editing, page layout, graphic illustration and much more.

  ### 21. Great Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Very easy to use and great for setting up files for print production. Especially business cards, postcards, etc.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Not much, just getting used to the control layout compared to other programs.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Print Production & prepress layout

  ### 22. Missing some really good features

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

It's still basically the Quark of old which I loved. I like that I can use it across more platforms now.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I miss "Command M." I also miss the cool borders Quark used to have. Some of the icons are confusing which makes it difficult to figure out. I also miss the Format. Indent is very difficult to find. It's like the more changes Quark makes, the more user friendly things they take away. I was just put pretty much out of business for a month while Quark was trying to catch up with OS Big Sur. They kept telling me the update would be ready two days later then three days later then ten days later. Cost me a lot of money sitting around waiting for them to get it together. I ended up muddling through a few things with InDesign but it was a learn as you go so it wasn't very effective for me.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

It's not a good program to jump into. The learning curve is high and it helps if you've used other versions in the past however the newer versions have lost a lot of the user friendliness the program used to have.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not and I haven't. Over the years it's gotten far more difficult to use than it used to be. They really should listen to their customers better. They keep taking the good stuff out and making it more difficult to use.

**Official Response from Quark Team:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

  ### 23. Quark has become a good layout program again

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Versatile - structured in an understandable way

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The operability could be improved and simplified

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

QuarkXPress is definitely a top program in the printing industry with which all requirements can be mastered.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need Quark to design and to create print media

  ### 24. I still use it yes I do!!!!!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Judith S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark has good support. I bought into the advantage plan and they are there for you when you need it, and they are qualified. I started out with QX, and I work alone with no need to share files, and they have always upgraded with the trends, so why switch.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

That it is not as mainstream as InDesign. it is a definite requirement to know InDesign if I want to obtain new freelance clients but I have no need to.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Tried and true. Excellent service. Integrates with Adobe JUST FINE.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Desktop Publishing of all sorts. Layout, design, print, web etc. They are a trusted software provider, I would never use anything else excpet InDesign, but then again I really dont want to use InDesign. I was trained in QX originally.

  ### 25. The New Digital Experience - Quark Express 2020

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maurice B. | None, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

QuarkXPress 20230 is the easiest way possible to create a website.

This means that, for the first time, you can go straight from your print dfesign using your brand and your fonts and colours, to fully functioning, clean web content.

Quark have been developing the advancements in print design to digital since 2016 to stay well ahead of the competition. They have buiolt theior own PDF engine which does away with the need for another application to make PDF's and the ability to manage and edit PDFs on screen is a godsend.

Plus easy export to PDF, EOS, Android and seamless integrations with print document to digital is simply amazing. A quark user sonme the old 4.1 version, I'm glad I stuck with the programme throughout.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Not publicised enough in comparison with Adobe products, for me QuarkXPress was, and still iusb the leading industry standard for design, make-up and book production straight from a print document to digital.
The Advantage package means fdree updates for the length of the package, and always owning the software is a big plus compared to leasing or renting, but expensive to sign up to.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

An easy to use, one stop programme for both print and digital output

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Straight from Print run to Digital output, bypassing the need for additional software, including useful photo editing

**Official Response from Quark Team:**

> Thanks for your review. It's much appreciated.

  ### 26. Quark had only one advantage over InDesign. Since Quark 2018, it has lost that edge.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Better usability than InDesign, but only up to version 2017

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Since version 2018, the removal of the pop-ups for "Character Attributes", "Formatting Attributes" and "Modify" (Ctrl D, Ctrl F, and Ctrl M), since Quark 2018, and their replacement with a ribbon that is a disaster.
That is the main problem. but I can refer several more, much less importants:
--With Quark 2017, problems when working with layers (ghost layers). Quark 2020 solves that problem, but I don't work with Quark 2020, due to the lack of the pop-ups I mentioned.
--Quark does not save the layout of my windows. It should be possible to set which window layout Quark documents open by default
--Quark's cell tables are infinitely worse than InDesign's

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All my layout work I do with Quark, except for the tables with cells, for which I use InDesign

  ### 27. An ever-increasingly powerful tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorna I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark gives you precise control over text, images, shapes, colour, opacity, and it's compatible with a wide range of file formats, allowing you to always find a way to convert to what require.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I honestly can't think of anything I don't like ☺️

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

A couple of times I tried to use inDesign and gave up as I found the software hard to navigate. For me Quark is software that covers everything you need and I would highly recommend it to anyone whether you're a designer, author

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have business problems as such. As a Graphic Designer I have used Quark since 1987 and it has always encompassed all my needs for design, layout and setting up artwork for print.

  ### 28. 2020 version makes the step from print to digital painless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin T. | Field Leader — Belgium, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2017

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

QuarkXPress is now the easiest way to create a website—far easier than wading through endless WordPress templates, or going on Wix or other template-based sites. This means that, for the first time, you can go straight from your print using your brand and your fonts and colours, to fully functioning, clean web content without intermediate steps.
This is in addition to the industry-leading print and design features, which Quark has been aggressively developing since 2016 to stay well ahead of the competition.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

QuarkXPress is less known than it used to be, and dramatically less known than it deserves to be. It needs a higher social media profile. I am now regularly seeing people who are asking how to convert Quark files into that other package, because they have large legacy libraries. They are discovering that the costs of conversion are dramatically more than any savings they might have made. Sometimes it's best to stick with the best package for the job, rather than going with a subscription-based bundle that can't open your files.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Join the Facebook group. Also, if you are a not-for-profit, make sure that you get the enormous not-for-profit discount, which is effectively the cheapest upgrade price to purchase outright. If you are coming from ID, expect to make a small investment of time to master QuarkXPress.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organisations often come to me when they have documents which are too complex or are on too short deadlines for their in-house team to solve using their bundled-subsciption-based software. With QuarkXPress, I can take all of their business graphics, including legacy PDF files, PDF files supplied from ArcGIS or MapInfo, files supplied to them designed by third parties, Word and PowerPoint Graphics and Excel charts and Excel tables, and natively import them, conforming them to the visual identity guidelines. With the current version, i do this about 5-10x faster than I was able to previously, when I worked with a mixed environment of Quark and other vendor products. Now Quark does it all.

  ### 29. Tried and True

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

It has a consistent user interface, and it moves smoothly from layout to print prep.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Small things like changing a font size to fit the box have space for, and adjusting the typeface to work from italics to bold, etc. I want it to make it easier to edit photos.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Decide where you want your tools to set on your workspace. You'll be moving back and forth a lot, sometimes with more clicks than you'd like, but it's important to get quickly to the tools and and functions you want, when you want them.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to layout my publication. I like the pricing structure much better than other software options.

  ### 30. QuarkXpress is still the BEST despite the heavy competition!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatih E. | Freelance Tour Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Ease of use considering the tools and it is fast even on an older computer.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I would like to see API access to macOS dictionaries, Metal, CoreData and CoreImage, etc. built in. no need to use 3rd party plugins.

I am a graduate student and I would also like to see a scientific library plugin to automate reference creation to the resources, ie, Turabian, Chicago, MLA. For instance: Papers, Readcube, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

QuarkXpress provides the best user experience in terms of ease of use, layout of its tools, and is not a heavy consumer of CPU-RAM. It is lightweight and very responsive.

I highly recommend QuarkXpress to those looking for an alternative to other desktop publishing apps, especially if you are a freelancer with a limited budget, Quark honors a lifetime license unlike the other companies enforcing subscription with resource heavy software that bombard your computer with countless number of processes and renders your computer unusable.

I am very happy that I chose Quark,

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a service designer, I use it daily for developing my project workflow, creating infographics. I am happy to say that QuarkXpress is cost effective in comparison to its competitors.

  ### 31. QuarkXPress Power User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya H. | Media Relations, Videographer and Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I have been a dedicated QuarkXPress user since 2003. I had to learn the platform for my job as a graphic artist and have been a power user since QuarkXPress5. In addition to my current use of the platform to complete research papers and build curriculum, I've designed hundreds of marketing and sales flyers for companies across the globe. In my industry, the go-to has become Adobe InDesign, but I still prefer Quark for single page to multiple page documents. It is more user friendly, and easier to teach to new artists. For me, it is faster to layout a newspaper in Quark. I really like that Quark is now a cloud-based product. It will allow the company to push out updates and improvements in a more timely fashion.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

There really isn't anything that I dislike about the platform. It can be intimidating for a new user, but that is true with any robust software. I do recommend the use of a tutor for a new user. There are many short cuts and preference tweaks that can be made to create a better user experience. QuarkXPress is very versatile and can be used from single page formats to complicated multiple page magazines and newspapers. I do not have much experience using the platform to design webpages.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Currently, there are four major players for desktop publication. I have them all. I use them all. I consistently prefer QuarkXPress for designing materials for educational and marketing use. If you are an occasional user or are uncomfortable with technology, I do not recommend spending out for either Adobe or QuarkXPress. Still, for the serious user who requires a desktop publishing tool with multiple page layout capability, QuarkXPress is the best. I do recommend finding a tutor to help you learn the platform, as there are many shortcuts and tweaks that can be learned to create an easier workflow.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I started using QuarkXPress, we were using it to design grocery flyers and signage for over 350 stores across a 5 state region. It is an invaluable tool for a design house. If you're needing robust software for multiple page layouts, QuarkXPress is the best tool out there.

  ### 32. QuarkXPress is in my opinion better than indesign

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

the easy working with this program is great

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

i dislike that older quark documents cannont open

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nice is the direct switch to html

  ### 33. Pretty Full Featured - Minus Data Merge

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelley K. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like that I can do weekly newsletter with ease because of text styles. It is possible to put text on curves. I love that I can edit images simply from the context menu or more fully from my chosen editing software. It exports to PDF nicely with options and I can create tables. It also imports PDF with unknown fonts without distortion.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

No data merge. On one of my computers it runs really rough and slow. I have looked into data merge and you can if you understand coding - I don't and so it is not helpful to me.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Full featured with image editing - there is a bit of a learning curve if you have used simpler software but lots of answers are out there to help. I believe you can do what you need for desktop publishing and the cost is a benefit too. The maintenance plans help out.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really love it now that I understand its language. I can do everything I want for my purposes except easy data merge. I have to go back to Microsoft Publisher for that or even Corel Draw (it is cumbersome there). I haven't used InDesign in years but I feel like QuarkXpress 2020 could do as much as it does (unless it has data merge:)). You can create nice clip art from your images because of effects like borders, drop shadow and clipping. The image "fitting" choices are really helpful too.

  ### 34. Great program with a lot of helpful features, but some issues made me lower my score from 10 to 7.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I love the HTML5 publishing features and the new responsive layouts. I've already used Quark for almost everything, but those features gave me even more options. I used HTML5 to get up a temporary website in about 20 minutes and half of that was me just selecting the photos I wanted to use. It's great. The table styles are cool, too. I know Quark, I'm comfortable with it, and it does everything I need it to do and more. I also like being able to buy my software and not rent it for the rest of my life.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

While I've had no issues with stability on my personal laptop, several in-office users have had serious stability issues that have caused them to repeatedly have to reinstall. Some were never able to open it at all. Quark tech support said it was likely because of font software and recommended we remove the font software, but that's not an option for an office that needs to use font software for other programs. Stability and support issues have to be better and, because of that, I had to knock 3 points off my score. Quark vastly improved their customer service in recent years, but a lot of users seem to be fearing they are reverting to old ways under new management.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not a web programmer, so I like that I can use Quark to do some quick and easy websites that reflect my style, rather than being stuck using canned WordPress layouts.

  ### 35. Long-time user of Quarkxpress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carm R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quarkxpress is the best tool for page layout. Whether it's a large magazine or a single page ad, I'll use Quark over Indesign. I've used both but prefer the speed and functionality of Quark.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I think the gradient tool should be tweaked a bit so there are fewer steps to create and alter the colours. It works well as is but think reducing the number of steps to make the selections I need would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

It's a great product and the best layout program for designers and advertising professionals. Plus, you can own a copy without cloud based subscription.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recently, creating flipbooks within Quarkxpress has been a huge benefit to me.

  ### 36. Everything you want and need from a desktop publishing package

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark T. | Bo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

The support from Quark is the best I've ever come across. Ask a question and they phone you from India, 24/7 to try to help you. The application itself is just what you need to do books, magazines, one-off designs, business cards, whatever. I even use it as a word processor as it is better than any dedicated WP, with possibly Apple Pages as runner-up.

I have been using QuarkXPress since version 3, after using Calamus and Pagemaker. It provided me with a great income through the 1990s when my client list included major international companies, galleries and others. I even created a Turner Prize entry, working with the artist. After a foray into inDesign running alongside Quark, up to CS5, I returned to QuarkXPress as the best option. I have tried Affinity products but QuarkXPress leaves them in the shade. As most print production nowadays is from PDFs it doesn't matter what you use to make the files as long as they run. Quark's always do 100%.

I especially like the new typography that Quark produces. You can always tell if work has been produced in other packages as Quark's defaults are far better than other application's. inDesign is especially weak in this area and unless users tweak kerning and letter spacing it is never as good as Quark's out of the box.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

I use QuarkXPress as a single design files, even with multi-chapter books, I seldom use the multi-tabs and tickets and all the palaver they need. I make books, magazines and newsletters mainly, with occasional posters, leaflets and so on. I might add that I am retired so these are all freebees for charities and so on. This means I don't need to swap work with other designers who have found themselves caught into inDesign's thrall. They wouldn't need to be, QuarkXPress is as good if not better at most things.

I would love to have a more capable book pallet that could encompass non-existent blank pages between chapters without actually putting them into the whole book PDF that one makes for clients.

Also, I used to use line screens to help bad images to print better or for 'artistic results'. I haven't seen this in QXP for many years, a sad omission. As were the aliens who one could command to march across the screen!

Finally I think I will struggle to be able to afford to keep Quark up-to-date as I earn nothing from using it. I feel they have had to become like Adobe in licensing which means I shall be forced to move to a different package that has a one-off for-life fee such as Affinity.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I moved from Photoshop, I have found Pixelmator Pro works well with QuarkXPress. Where I used to make clipping paths in Photoshop, I can replicate within Quark itself or use masks from Pixelmator Pro. Quark's image editing tools are useful too.

  ### 37. Not quite as slick as previous versions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark is still the go to choice for building documents quickly. Having used it for years many of the shortcuts are just flow through your fingers. It's like an old pair of shoes you just slip on because you know how comfortable they are...

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The removal of some well used shortcuts is unnecessary and feels like it is dumbing down to match some of the 'features' of inDesign. The full res display means HUGE documents and makes it slower to render even on 2020 spec machines. It can feel a bit 'nervous' at times as the pages jerk around because of the full res display issues.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had a problem with caching of the full res displays and had to call Quark support, but they solved it. Benefits wise, it is enabling me to work on recurring jobs that don't have the budget to swap to indesign (or the necessity).

  ### 38. QuarkXPress makes my life so much easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valerie J. A. | Freelance Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Of all the design and layout programs I've used, QXP has been the most intuitive. When I first started using the program, I picked up basic steps right away (and I'm a slow learner when it comes to technology). Over the years the program has only improved (but remained easy to learn).

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

If I had to name one thing I dislike, I would say ... not being able to email a QXP document. (Many people don't have the program, and the files generally tend to be too large to attach.) Of course, I've compensated by converting to a PDF or JPG, and that emails easily.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

I know other programs are the software du jour, but I've used QXP for more than 25 years, and I've tried others in the meantime. I keep coming back to QXP and will continue to use it as long as I work in this field.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While I'm not a designer (any more), I continue to work with them. Showing them my rough ideas in a fairly polished layout allows us to shortcut the tedious steps of "how do you want this to look?" and "what copy goes with what visual?" I also teach university students; my syllabi are considered legendary. I use QXP to set them up, and I can manipulate type, visuals and layouts very easily – depending on my needs for the various courses and semesters. I can save enormous amounts of time, and I can show students how I want things done very easily through the layouts I do in QXP.

  ### 39. Slight learning curve, but now I prefer it to Adobe!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like how easy it is to place images and to adjust the image settings for wrapping text around them etc. It's also very easy to import a new image into a previous image location if needed. The new Quark 2019 and 2020 improved their toolbar and moved it to the bottom so now it's much easier to edit fonts, size etc. I'm very happy with this change!

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Since the recent updates that came with the 2020 version, I'm honestly enjoying everything about QuarkExpress now and don't have any complaints!

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

If you are familiar with Adobe Indesign then this will be a cake walk for you as it is very similar, but honestly easier once you learn the initial layout. I was self-taught and have been able to figure out everything that I needed to learn with very little trouble. I think you will be very happy with this product!

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm redesigning an old 30+ page brochure that was made years ago and I'm very happy with how easy it is to maintain the format and make the necessary changes within.

  ### 40. Go to Art working software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Easy to use software, that allows me to produce results very quickly, From concept artwork to print ready documents. I also love how i can quickly edit artworks to turn from Print to Digital. Year on year quark bring new features to the software, Making it more powerful and simpler to use and less reliant on other 3rd party software to get the desired results.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

There are always times where you want to try something new, I kinda wish that finding out how to do new things, or that there were a wide range of tutorials. Some times it can be trial and error

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

When buying quark you have that licence for life. not a monthly subscription. Meaning you would lose the use of the software when you cancel or don't pay.

The yearly upgrades are low cost and easy to upgrade to. Also with the advantage programme your always on the latest software.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quark is my go to piece of software for art working and producing layouts. This allows me to do it quickly and efficiently. I have to produce multiple versions of similar artwork and the software allows me to update these to the individual requirements very quickly.

My job has many facets, meaning i have to produce Print documents, Downloadable documents, Emailers and website. Quark allows me to do this from one easy to use programme.

  ### 41. Quarkxpress software clean and un bloated software. Great tool and intuitive interface.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Clean and un bloated software. Great tool and intuitive interface. Not heavy on memory or cpu. Easy and quick responsive interface when constructing designs and page make up. also having font management build in is a big plus. Import of inDesign files is excellent especially if you have stopped using (paying perpetual licence) inDesign and are locked out of your design files

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

import and linking of spreadsheets /data files into tables could be better

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create document quickly and efficiently with tools that are intuitive use. I can also create digital documents easily and I also dont have to purchase separate software to manage font in quark

  ### 42. QuarkXpress -- uniquely powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I've used Quark for years to create employee benefit statements for client companies, large and small. Using the add-in software Xdata from EM Software, making these documents unique to every employee is easy and fast. I've also made sophisticated phone directories using it. One of the best parts about this system is Quark's printer driver -- it's so much faster than InDesign, it complies a complicated document and queues up two hundred individual documents in less than a minute.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The new black background. I liked the old one better. Sometimes seems to me they made changes just because "We've got to change something!"

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

That's what I've discussed above.

  ### 43. Quark Xpress is still the one

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blaise N. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Everything that made Quark Xpress the original and best page layout program is still there. But they didn't rest on their laurels, they have regularly upgraded the product to find ways to continue to be useful and relevant. Despite everything that Adobe tries to throw at Quark, it is still a superior program for most of what we do. Whenever we're forced to use 'that other product' we cringe just a little.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Would it hurt so much to include document window tabs?! Working between multiple docs is still a pain...

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Try it. Put it through the test. Compare it to InDesign. If you give it a true once over, you'll find that it is the superior product.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use it for print design, sometimes digital banners. We don't use many features it offers but are comforted to know they are there if needed.

  ### 44. I built a 30-year career using Quark

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Landry B. | Retired Graphic Designer

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2021

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Flexibility, control and reliability. I've used Quark almost every day of my 30-year design career. I've used it to combine text documents, images and line art to create books, magazines, album covers and more.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Hard to say. There have been things over the years that I wasn't fond of but they've been taken care of now.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quark makes my life easier. I can be confident that the printed piece will be exactly what I specified in the layout.

  ### 45. Still the same great program and a lot more....

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

There are quite a few new capabilities to explore but I upgraded from Quark 8 to Quark 2020 and amazingly it is still easy to use and feels familiar. I also really like the fact that Quark is not using a subscription model like Adobe and the program may be purchased.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Not much but it took me a while to figure out certain things. I called Quark and found what I needed to know. I think that the new visual imaging feature might be more robust and the controls more obvious. I would also like to have more PDF editing and processing ability within the program if that would be possible. (I know it's an Adobe program...)

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Quark regularly and having more features within the program has made work life easier.

  ### 46. An amazing update!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joann G. | Pani / Presvytera / Matushka, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

I like the speed in which the app launches on my MacBook, redraws my large files quickly and allows be to get in and edit or alter simple or complex pages.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

The learning curve... for newbies, there is a learning curve... even for the seasoned Quark user, there are a lot of functionality and features that you may never truly uncover.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Take the time to look into all the wonderful features... I'm still learning them all myself too! It’s a huge difference since I first beta tested Quark in the early 1990s.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My dilemma was having a new MacBook, but a 4 yr old version of Quark. New Quark opened all my old files and I was able to save them all into the new file format.

  ### 47. Advanced and reliable software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aliya W. | General Accounting Head - GCC. & Regional Expert IMEA, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2020

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Quark is the state of art technology tool that has almost all those features which are necessary for an organization to run. I am so much satisfied to initiate this tool in my various departments. It is a cloud based application which is equipped with numerous integrations that has further facilitated us in our daily working. Right from content creation to the development of various applications and websites this software is all in all and it has become my necessity.

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

It is very much costly solution and also its purchasing is not that easy we really have to follow few steps and during its installation couple of time I had to contact the customer services. Moreover, its services are great and going well.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

It is highly recommended as it will empower you to control your many processes through one platform and will provide you the transparent idea about your organization growth. It is an effective and well developed program which comes with extraordinary features and functionalities.

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a blend of most innovative technologies, which provides me the insights of the entire lifecycle of business-critical content. Now I am automating various processes and to handle the sales department has become very ease as it helps me to manage stakeholders and my customers.

**What do you like best about QuarkXPress?**

Design and layout to is so easy for magazines, brochures etc, anything that is going to print. Regular updates and improvements,

**What do you dislike about QuarkXPress?**

Converting documents form older Quark versions is no longer available and needs to new addressed. Great new features like Web design/layout but no useful tutorials which is needed. No point adding new features if they cannot be used to full extent.

**Recommendations to others considering QuarkXPress:**

Worth purchasing

**What problems is QuarkXPress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating brochures or magazines a lot quicker and easier than InDesign.

  ### 49. Consistently the Best DeskTop Publishing Software
