The convenience of ProEst is great. If I'm not in the office, I'm able to log in remotely and continue my work from anywhere with a stable internet connection. The software also gives users the ability to organize estimates as they see fit. This organization is key to making sure that anyone within our company who views an estimate is able to find what they're looking for with relative ease. The support staff is great, too. The main complaint I had with ProEst is that it required a fair bit of try-it-and-see learning, as there was no documentation on how to use its features. This has been rectified with the addition of a knowledge base in the ver.16 update. It currently contains a large amount of information, but could use some fine-tuning to address more specific details of the numerous features the software offers. ProEst gives you the ability to create estimates right from a takeoff. Their takeoff tool lets you upload drawings directly to the cloud-based platform, begin doing take-offs for the project, and then automatically price them using historical input data. PRoEst is a cloud based software that requires internet connection to use. This generally isnt a massive problem, however if you are looking for a downloadable software - ProEst may not be the takeoff program for you. The feature that allows you to transfer your takeoff and the program automatically generates an estimate for you is convenient and saves a lot of time in our bidding process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some things could be improved, fixed, or added. When you are approaching completing a full page of takeoff, the software begins to lag drastically and can slow down your productivity. Some of the features, such as the overlay function, sometimes don't work. It would be helpful to add features such as templates for commonly used assemblies; can select any or all takeoff items on a sheet or any given assembly at once, for deletion, reassignment to another assembly, or to be copied/pasted to another area on the page or another sheet. Additionally, when uploading plan sets, the program seems to jumble up the plan sheet order, and there is not a quick way to correctly reorganize them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using ProEst for over seven years now. I am a medium-size contractor which performs somewhere around 50 million now. Seven years ago, we did only approximately 5 million a year. With this software, we have come a long way in the past seven years. Two of us do all of the estimating of our projects. Our estimating time must be efficient and productive. The thing that I'd have to say that I like best is that my estimates are consistent, accurate, and professional.

When I submit an estimate to a prospective client, I know they will recognize it as professional. They'll see our company as a viable business capable of building their project.

ProEst has helped us streamline estimating our construction projects. We have created a template which is the base for all estimates and includes codes, labor and material costs for the majority of our procts. It makes creating new estimates fast and accurate.
