What stands out most for me is how budget-friendly it is—I haven't spent a single dollar so far, yet we've managed to set up a lot. I use it daily to monitor our web analytics, and right now I'm learning how to build out the entire product analytics structure for our product. Another feature I like is the ability to integrate with Stripe and simultaneously track our LLM's costs. I use PostHog for analyzing user behavior, collecting metrics, and seeing how many users use our site. I really like how easy it is to create dashboards, like funnels, and how everything is stored with a fast queryable database. The website design is amazing, and it's actually fast, so I don't have to wait 2 seconds for a page to load like with other big company pages. What we've struggled with is the implementation. It's a complex implementation, not as simple as experimentation tools more focused on marketers. But I believe it's predictable, since it's a tool more focused on developers. Still, it gives us a lot of autonomy. And because we're using the self-hosted version, despite some missing features, we've had excellent monthly costs. (The cloud version also has reasonable costs compared to competitors.) Having previously used other tools, I missed the cloud version's greater cost predictability. The usage per action or processing makes the bill difficult to predict.
