I have had some trouble with using the PingID passwordless agent for Windows desktop. Because of hardening in our environment, I was able to install the agent, but when trying to log in with PingID, no prompt was given to log in to the desktop. I dislike PingOne Cloud because its architecture doesn’t support cross‑region failover, which is a major gap for any enterprise that requires high availability and geographic resilience. In a modern IAM platform, regional redundancy isn’t a luxury — it’s a baseline expectation. Without the ability to fail over to another region, PingOne creates a single‑region dependency that increases operational risk, complicates disaster recovery planning, and limits our ability to meet strict uptime or business continuity requirements. Upgrades haven’t been very straightforward for us, especially when deploying the Ping suite on our own cluster using custom images. From what I’ve seen, PingOne (cloud identity) provides a much more seamless experience because upgrades are fully managed. By contrast, our on-prem deployments have caused some challenges during upgrades in the past. That said, the support team has been great at helping us work through those issues and get back on track.
