The service consistently meets enterprise-level demands while remaining accessible for implementation. Documentation quality and API design facilitate quick deployment without extensive development overhead.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

With The basic plan, we can send only in one destination : the admin email.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 3. Effortless HTML to PDF Conversion with PDFShift

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave R.

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

I appreciate PDFShift for its ease of use and the simplicity it brought to my workflow. The setup process was straightforward as I was able to easily access the API through the website and integrate it into my existing workflow without any difficulty. It provides a reliable solution for converting HTML to PDF, which was highly recommended when I was searching for such capabilities. The ability to generate clean, formatted PDFs seamlessly from HTML content has significantly improved my documentation process for my customer success team. Previously, we experienced issues with unformatted information in Salesforce, but with PDFShift, we can now effortlessly create and upload neat PDFs to the attachments section after each call. The platform's ease of setup, combined with its functionality and the cost-effectiveness of the service, makes PDFShift an indispensable tool for my needs. I also value the availability of good documentation, which helps in smooth integration and usage. Overall, PDFShift effectively fulfills the requirements I was looking for and delivers satisfactory results.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

I find it slightly inconvenient that PDFShift doesn't have a direct node integration within n8n, which would simplify my workflow processes. Currently, I have to manage authentication and passing of information through HTTP requests, which is less straightforward. It would be much more efficient if I could easily add a node in n8n to handle authentication and functionality seamlessly.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PDFShift to convert HTML into clean, formatted PDFs, improving documentation for my team and enhancing notes in Salesforce. It's easy to integrate into workflows and solves issues with unformatted data.

  ### 4. The Most Straightforward and Developer-Friendly PDF Conversion API

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed Atiqur R. | Entrepreneur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

What I appreciate most about PDFShift is its incredible simplicity and ease of integration. Before finding PDFShift, I was evaluating one of the top names in the market, and the process was surprisingly cumbersome. It involved a multi-step workflow that included generating a token, uploading the HTML file, and then sending a separate request to trigger the conversion.

PDFShift completely eliminates that complexity. It offers a clean, single HTTP request solution for converting HTML to PDF. This streamlined approach saved me a significant amount of development and testing time. For any developer looking for a powerful, no-fuss API to integrate PDF generation into their application, PDFShift is a game-changer. It just works, and it works beautifully.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Honestly, I have yet to find anything to dislike about PDFShift. It has flawlessly handled all the conversions I've thrown at it. The documentation is clear, the API is simple, and the performance has been excellent. It has fully met my requirements without any issues so far.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDFShift is solving the problem of over-complicated and time-consuming integration for developers needing to add HTML-to-PDF conversion to their applications. Before using PDFShift, I found that even market-leading solutions required a cumbersome, multi-step process involving separate API calls for authentication, file handling, and the actual conversion. This complexity directly translates into longer development cycles and increased testing overhead.

The primary benefit for me has been a significant reduction in development time. By offering a single, straightforward API endpoint, PDFShift allowed me to implement the functionality in a fraction of the time it would have taken with other services. This means I can ship features faster and spend less time wrestling with a third-party API and more time focusing on my own application's core logic.

  ### 10. Great SAAS tool for converting HTML to PDF

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

I like the fact that you can just send a source URL and include a authentication cookie and then you have a good looking PDF.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

I have a few issues getting the X-Response-StatusCode header working, and there seem to be some delay with customer support (but I'm still on the free tier so it's totally understandable).

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generating PDF's from HTML

  ### 11. Great tool to generate PDF from HTML

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomáš . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2020

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Printing html page to PDF.

  ### 12. Built for those that don't want to deal with the hassle of PDF generation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnathan L. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

The API is simple. GET or POST to an endpoint with a URL or data blob, pass a few parameters at the same time, and have a neatly and true-to-form PDF come back as a response in a few seconds.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

It wasn't immediately clear that there was a sandbox option (watermarked PDFs for testing) so I ended up burning through some of my monthly allotment during initial development.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to generate a single-page PDF that contained dynamic data. In the language I was writing, PDF libraries were either out of date or complicated. I could have figured it out eventually, but handing a service a few dollars a month to solve my problem for me so I can get back to building the rest of the application seemed immensely appealing.

  ### 13. Does exactly what it says on the tin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven G. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

Simple to integrate with any stack and also gives the nice option of storing on S3 for a couple of days.

Good documentation.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Haven't come across anything that we don't like so far. It's not complex.

**Recommendations to others considering PDFShift:**

Read the docs, implement and forget about it knowing that Shift is creating your PDFS

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generating PDFs from customer reports

  ### 14. The best pdf converter for me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel G. | basel, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2019

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

pdfshift works very good with my css and it has a decent amount of requests free!

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Honestly there is nothing I dislike so far. Maybe that it is not completly free but I didn't find a better / cheaper one so it is the best

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to send a bill as an attachment in a mail. This bill has quite complex css (relative width and height, position absolute, tables, @page ect.) and I tried first with tcpdf but almost nothing is supported there so I changed to mPDF which was way better but position: absolute didn't work. I struggled many many hours and tried few others but pdfshift works the best with my css and it has a decent amount of requests free! Very cool thank you.

  ### 15. Dynamic #PDF generation was never easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan K. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

The simple and intuitive usage. You'll register and get directly an api key. The api is straight forward and good documented.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Nothing special. Probably I would say the pricing is too high, - but this depends on the viewport I guess. For a big company its a no-brainer.

**Recommendations to others considering PDFShift:**

Just test it out. You'll get 300 converstions for free every month and can increase this without costs if you are doing some steps.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to export user data into a good readable format and send it via e-mail to our customers. We were already able to generate a nice looking webpage (HTML) but we needed a PDF to send it to the customers. So we looked how we can accomplish that. Most packages or services are just not that good.. they don't support css or just very old css tags or they require a desktop environment (instead of a headless server).

PDFShift just worked and it's fast.

  ### 16. Nothing is perfect, but PDFShift tends into the right direction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sascha G. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

I tried so many converters and after some mails back and forth, PDFShift does exactly, what i need. The support is super friendly and very quick, so it didn't take long to integrate PDFShift into my existing workflow.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

The only thing i noticed when discovering PDFShift a few months ago is, that they include a meta comment that says "Created by PDFShift" (or similar). While this might be okay in most cases, there should be an option (paid?) to remove this information. Not every company (especially those, which are located in the EU) don't want to disclose, that they are using an external service to create their documents (e.g. invoices or other documents, including sensitive informations).

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently using PDFShift to automate the creation of service contracts.

  ### 17. Easy Integration - Does Exactly What We Need

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

The integration was simple and support was quick to respond to any concerns we had during the initial setup.

It's also great that they offer a sandbox version that we can use in our test environments without getting charged.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

It would be great if there was an easy to access dashboard that kept track of usage as well as recently created PDFs. It's not necessary, but it would be nice to ensure all of the recent documents created by PDFShift look correct.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDFShift allows us to automate social media reporting for our customers.

  ### 18. Super Easy Way to Create PDFs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg R. | Programmer Annalyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

The API is super easy to use and there is good documentation. I was able to create PDFs in minutes. There are several methods for creating a PDF.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

I haven't found anything that I really dislike.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were creating PDFs through PHP using fPDF. This was time-consuming and difficult to create. With PDFShift we have been able to do the same thing in about a tenth of the time.

  ### 19. Very easy and reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas K. | Developer & Founder, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

- ease of the API
- quality of results
- reliability of the API

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

- no credit-based pricing, only (for our use-case) unflexible monthly plans

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having to set up a bunch of libraries ourselves, that all either do not work at all or yield broken results, we now use PDFShift to generate PDF-invoices without much hassle.

  ### 20. Easy and developer-oriented API

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

Responsive service, good product that succeeds to convert web pages that other converters I checked didn't.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Not being able to send invoices to a different email than account's email.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatic transmission of invoices to customers. Benefits are time saving and manual work reducing.

  ### 22. Perfect rendering, easy to setup and use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Billy B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

Setting up was super easy. Use the api key and the PHP curl snippet provided on their website, and it worked right away. The dev mode enabled to test for free very easily.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

There is nothing I have found yet to dislike.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Open source solutions for rendering pdf are all imperfect. Some don't render css rules properly, others render images, thus making resolution very low. With pdfshift, the pdf rendered is just perfect.

  ### 23. Very good tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

No dependencies, no code wrangling and simple api

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Nothing until now. I'd love to have some styling feature

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using npm packages to solve something that should be simple

  ### 25. Very user-friendly documentation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PDFShift?**

Documentation seems pretty straight-forward and the API makes sense overall.

**What do you dislike about PDFShift?**

Can’t use it offline. This is a bit of an inherent limitation on any API, but some of our developers are offline when they code. It’s not a huge drawback. I wish I had the chance to evaluate it more. Perhaps some more demonstrated use cases and walkthroughs could help. For example, more on handling images (logos), digital signing, generating from HTML with Bootstrap.

**What problems is PDFShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was a solution to create leases on the fly.

  ### 26. Sitecore CMS Developer review
