Continuum Industries' Optioneer is an AI- and GIS-powered platform that streamlines electricity transmission and pipeline planning and routing, helping utilities keep pace with rapidly increasing demand by automating manual workflows and surfacing project risks before they become bottlenecks. By screening potential projects for environmental, social, technical, and permitting constraints at the system-planning stage, Optioneer ensures only feasible projects move forward, reducing wasted effort and helping planners strategically build portfolios. When evaluating competitive solicitations, Optioneer helps teams quickly identify which opportunities are worth pursuing. By producing full desktop routing studies in just a few hours, teams can assess more potential projects with greater due diligience, surface high-risk proposals early, and focus resources on the bids most likely to succeed. **What do you like best about Optioneer?**

The software is flexible and powerful. It allows the client to quickly and directly assess a broad range of pipeline routing options, and the outputs are easy to share. It is also very useful for maintaining a georeferenced record of the decision-making process that can be referred to in the future, supporting ongoing refinement and informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Optioneer?**

A couple of very minor niggles/suggestions. First, it doesn’t always “remember” everything I’d expect in my saved views after I exit and then re-enter the software. Second, since workspaces can be accessed by multiple users, it would be helpful to have a clearer, more obvious summary log of what’s changed since I was last in Optioneer.

**What problems is Optioneer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to support strategic optioneering for transmission pipeline routing across hundreds of kilometres by providing a consistent way to evaluate options against the actual geography.
