The application has three levels of optimization: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
(1) Level 1: Runtime Usage collects usage data from a wide range of sources to meter checked
out licenses or applications. It includes real-time monitoring and historical reporting on a wide range of on-premise and cloud applications; customizable dashboards; and proactive alerts.
(2) Level 2: True Active Usage meters the activity levels of all standalone or server-based
applications, cloud, or on-premise to determine whether applications are truly being actively
used.
(3) Level 3: Managed Usage automates license harvesting. It expands the capabilities of the
first two levels and provides better control for managing license resources by discovering and
terminating or suspending applications that are not in active use.
LicenseAnalyzer has been updated to v9.19 to include new improvements, features, and
bug fixes.
Its new features include the following:
1. Creation of Application Crash Reports
Disabler creates a report in case an application unexpectedly terminates during resume. This provides easy access to information that may help rationalize the causality of the incident. Please note that this feature is only available for Windows.
2. Force-Terminate Option
A new attribute, force-terminate, is supported in Level 3.
This is used to specify the timespan in which an application is allowed to be suspended before being terminated.
3. Force-Resume Option
A new attribute, license-requirement-offset, is supported in Level 3.
This attribute handles checkout race conditions wherein suspended applications may still be resumed even when no licenses are available in the pool.
4. Custom-Action Script
Save scripts are one of the many types a custom action script can perform. These are scripts tailored to Petrel’s behavior to ensure proper saving of progress before the disabler optimizes the application.
5. Complete Visibility

Once installed, Open iT applications become accessible via separate endpoints through a single URL. 2. Expanded Cloud License Reporting The latest of version 10 expands support for cloud-based license managers, offering a comprehensive oversight across various platforms, including: • AFT eLicense • Bentley Cloud • Bluebeam Revu • CSI Cloud • RISA, and • Tekla Online • Esri Cloud • AVEVA 3. LicenseAnalyzer Level 1 Previous versions of Open iT’s LicenseAnalyzer already support over 40 license managers. In Version 10, we are expanding the list with support for EPLAN license manager, allowing users to collect license utilization data from EPLAN applications, such as Electric P8, Pro Panel, Fluid, Preplanning, and Harness proD, and get access to the robust reports our solutions are known for. Version 10 also introduces advanced support for Zetaware’s on-premise license manager, offering granular tracking and historical analysis of Zetaware usage. Open iT’s powerful data parsing and reporting tools convert Zetaware log files into actionable reports, providing precise visibility into usage trends. This helps ensure compliance, optimize license allocation, and reduce unnecessary costs—delivering measurable value to your operations. 4. LicenseAnalyzer Level 2 LicenseAnalyzer Level 2 now supports metering the usage of applications running through IBM’s LSF Job Scheduler. Additionally, it offers an alert pop-up for inactive application sessions and introduces a new data source for the quick creation of feature-level reports. 5. LicenseAnalyzer Level 3 For LicenseAnalyzer Level 3, users can configure a license harvesting schedule for specific users at a designated time using the scheduled actions feature. This is particularly useful for managing vendors or license models that bill based on calendar day intervals. A pop-up notification alerts users when their license is scheduled for harvesting. 6. LicenseAnalyzer ServiceNow Integration Open iT LicenseAnalyzer is now a published application in the ServiceNow Store Application. Located within the ServiceNow instance, the integration is used for authentication, receiving Open iT data, creation and deployment of Import Sets, and data transformation, allowing for compatibility with the SAM tables of ServiceNow. 7. Analysis Server Version 10 also features under the hood improvements, including a 50% reduction in storage space requirements and a 30% decrease in processing time. Moreover, using the Analysis Server Console Application, Open iT integrates the deployment and processing of the Analysis Services Tabular Model. This includes two types of deployment: on-premises and Azure Analysis Server. For the Azure SQL Server, Open iT supports database deployment, data synchronization, and connection, enabling an Azure cloud-based setup of Analysis Server databases. 8. Core Server Core Server processing of large data sets has now improved by implementing more intelligent ways of scheduling processes, avoiding bottlenecks during archiving and data generation. It has also updated its way of regenerating data only to touch what is necessary to be reprocessed. It now has the capability to specifically select which vendor license data to process, saving more waiting and processing time. 9. CLIMS In version 10, Centralized License Integration Management System or CLIMS now supports three new license managers, BetaLM, PetEx, and Codemeter. This allows administrators to manage and control these license servers across the enterprise with just a single interface and use them alongside LicenseAnalyzer to effectively manage and optimize the use of expensive engineering applications, including PetEx’s IPM Suite and DOF Suite as well as BetaLM’s Komvos, Ansers, and Epilysis. Moreover, CLIMS also supports semantic license comparison for RepriseLM and LMX. The interface displays an intuitive view of the changes made within the license files, summarizes the updates, and provides insights through conflict detection. In version 10, CLIMS also sends email notifications about the summarized semantic changes in FlexNet, RepriseLM, and LMX license files. Most recently, CLIMS enables users to individually start triad machines through the user interface. This is available to supported license managers with triads like FlexNet, LM-X, and DSLS. The Open iT Suite version 10 is more than just an upgrade; it's a significant change, ushering in a fresh approach to software license management that prioritizes efficiency and control.
