## About Observable
Observable is a data analysis and exploration platform that helps data analysts and their stakeholders understand their business data, build charts and other visualizations, and communicate insights. Built for teams, powered by AI, and backed by a global community of data practitioners, Observable offers a single workspace for data exploration, custom chart creation, and cross-functional data collaboration. Observable's collaborative whiteboard for data analysis, Observable Canvases, helps analysts with exploratory data analysis, advanced chart creation, and data storytelling. It makes the data analysis process more streamlined by bringing querying, chart creation, and sharing all in one platform. Users can choose between code, UI, or AI, and easily move between all three depending on the task at hand. The AI is also deeply integrated and turnkey, operating transparently on the canvas to allow users to understand, interpret, and fine-tune its results and reasoning, building trust in its recommendations. Additionally, whiteboarding features like comments, illustrations, and annotations help bring stakeholders into the data analysis process to reduce frustrating back-and-forths. Sophisticated data visualizations such as beeswarms, Sankey diagrams, choropleths, and more are available out-of-the-box to enable users to easily create and share expressive, interactive charts. Users can embed charts in internal apps, and generate polished, stakeholder-friendly dashboards in just a few clicks.

## Observable Reviews
 ### 1. A Game-Changer for Interactive Data Visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie E. | GM Observability Products, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Observable?**

- Reactive programming makes data exploration seamless

- Effortless D3.js integration—best platform for it

- Real-time collaboration is perfect for teams

- Interactive widgets and UI elements built-in

- No build/setup needed—just open and code

- Beautiful visual output that’s easy to share or embed

**What do you dislike about Observable?**

- Can feel browser-heavy for large data sets or complex apps

**What problems is Observable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Analysts, developers, and stakeholders often work in silos with poor communication. Observable is a shared, real-time platform where everyone can work on the same live notebook. The big benefit is that cross-functional teams align faster, reducing miscommunication and rework.

 ### 2. Best place to write interactive Data Visualization tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anup J. | Machine Learning Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Observable?**

Observable's biggest strength is its ability to provide an incredibly rich interactive experience for Data Viz. A lot of Data Viz applications are have too little control over the final product or are walled gardens which cannot be used anywhere else. The focus on code first Data Visualization tooling prvides a really usable experience
I would remiss if I didn't mention the excellent Observable plot, low code data viz library available in the notebooks. That makes it very easy to just drag and drop visualizations

**What do you dislike about Observable?**

Offline support is a major blocker for our organization. Without offline support, I am unable to use observable for anything more than personal projects
A lack of data processing tooling is an issue as well. Admittedly this is a JS problem and Observable is indeed trying to solve it as well, its still a nagging issue.
Lack of dark mode support is also a bit of a bummer as it becomes difficult to stare at a sharp white surface for long

**What problems is Observable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Observables main use case for me is a tool to present results. D3 and Observables unparalleled ability to create rich interactive data applications is often a very effective way of convincing stakeholders of the veracity and applicability of results.
Another use of observable is as a place to write beautiful D3 graphs without using a lot of web tools

 ### 3. Oberservale review for Marketers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pawandeep B. | Global Marketing Strategy Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Observable?**

I like that allows marketers like me to see how their data is being used and to understand the algorithms that are driving their campaigns. I like that it helps mes with insights via a dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Observable?**

It is sometimes slower than other software. Also I am not sure how secure that my data is.

**What problems is Observable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me Visualize my data, share insights which helps me take right actions on my campaign performance. I am able to do A/B testing with the data I am able to interpret. It helps me turn complex data into meaningful insights.

 ### 4. " Work With Observations"

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith D. | Business Development Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you dislike about Observable?**

Although it do not have much features it will take quite some time to learn the dashboard.

**What problems is Observable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Observable to streamline our data workflow processes.
