In cloud environments, with large numbers of multi core and cpu servers, running hundreds of virtual machines requires monitoring - Netdata fills that gap with centralised reporting and alerting.

  ### 8. Easy to deploy. Easy to get onboard. Responsive Support. Amazing customer experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata allows us to easily deploy a complete monitoring solution to our infrastructure. With just a copy and paste of a command, each of our servers gets automagically onboarded to our Netdata Cloud dashboards, instantly generating meaningful alerts and insights which enables us to take immediate action. Their support team is attentive and responsive. Kudos to the Customer Success team for the pleasant onboarding experience!

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

First and foremost: loss of control. As an infrastructure engineer, I like to have control over all of the infrastructure. I'm skeptical of SaaS, which often disappoint. A more accessibly priced on-premises solution would be preferred, even if the cloud product is excellent.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata is bringing our monitoring capabilities into the 21st century without the massive amount of time invested in configuring a comparable solution DIY. It has a polished interface, figures out the essentials in our servers on its own and offers a treasure trove of analytics.

  ### 9. Netdata provides an amazing experience at a reasonable cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dimitris G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata makes monitoring very very easy. Setting it up on my infrastructure (what they call nodes) was very simple, and their dashboard/software provides everything I need quite easily. They also make it very easy to integrate with various other software, like OS and databases. Their people are also amazingly responsive and helpful - it's like you're not supported by customer support agents, but by people who know the software really well. Finally, the cost is truly reasonable for what they're offering.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Netdata is still lacking a few specific integrations and features that can be found in some of the bigger players in the market. Nevertheless, it has everything I need for monitoring, which is the primary reason I use them. In addition to that, they've been very fast lately with adding missing functionalities, like windows monitoring and their ai insights/alerts.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I constantly built small-scale software and automations for my business, spinning up containers etc. while deploying. Netdata allows me to monitor all aspects of these systems very easily, removing a headache that I've always had before Netdata.

  ### 10. Netdata is a low-effort and relatively inexpensive way to monitor server infrastructure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Sr NetDevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata is a low maintenance, low effort way to start monitoring some deep system metrics and it "just works". Netdata's free tier gives you the chance to see all the product features.

Digging into different metrics and grouping by different dimensions is extremely useful. Correlating metrics is fairly easy and is done better than most other tools I've used. If you know the metrics that matter on a system, it seems relatively easy to look at those metrics across systems.

Documentation is reasonably good. Most of the metrics and alerts have useful help pages describing what a metric is and why it matters.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The UI can be overwhelming the first time you're in it.

Tuning notifications and thresholds in the free version was awkward. When we switched to the cloud-centric threshold adjustments and notifications, was a little awkward and we haven't fully switched.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Netdata to monitor our infrastructure (servers, VMs, containers) and record metrics we don't know we need yet, so when we run into performance problems, we can really dig in and start narrowing in on a problem.

  ### 11. Real time monitoring that actually works - and it really is "real time"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

The real-time visualizations are incredible - no more waiting around for dashboards to load or refresh. Everything updates instantly, and the interface is so intuitive that I don't need to dig through documentation just to find basic metrics. The zero-configuration setup was a pleasant surprise too. Just install it and boom, you're monitoring everything.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The alert configuration could be more straightforward and I wish it had tracing support.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly, we were spending way too much on monitoring solutions that required a dedicated person just to maintain them. Netdata just works out of the box. No complex setup, no expensive licenses, and I don't need to be a monitoring expert to use it effectively. It's freed up our team to focus on actual development instead of babysitting dashboards.

We used to waste hours trying to figure out what was wrong when something went sideways. Different team members had different monitoring tools, so troubleshooting was like playing telephone. Netdata gives everyone the same real-time view, so we can actually collaborate instead of arguing about whose metrics are right.

  ### 12. Really impressed with Netdata, it's become my go-to monitoring tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ramkishan g. | Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

It’s one of the easiest monitoring tools I’ve ever set up. Just install it and you immediately get a super detailed dashboard showing system metrics — CPU, memory, disk, network, processes — all updating in real

It is really lightweight, I was expecting some performance hit, but it barely uses any resources. And I didn’t have to do any crazy config or tuning to get useful data — it just works.

I’ve also connected a few systems to Netdata Cloud, and being able to monitor everything in one place.

Overall it's a solid tool.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Netdata provides networking metrics but it has some limitations like no deep packet inspection, limited visibility into distributed network topologies.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata is solving the problem of lack of real-time visibility into the health and performance of systems and applications. Before using it, I had to rely on multiple tools or complex setups to monitor logs, resource usage, and service health across cloud infrastructure.

  ### 13. End to End Visibility of your infrastructure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priya Balakrishna S. | HRIS Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2025

The installation is simple and takes a couple of minutes and Netdata automatically provides visibility 1000s of metrics every second. And this helps us to understand our infrastructure better and helps avoiding outages and makes troubleshooting extremely fast with special tools for troubleshooting.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Missing the APM and the logs functionality is good but can improved. We hear that this is already on the roadmap though.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata helps avoid outages and reduce downtime for our customers and we have had many problems in the past due to lack of visibility from other tools.

  ### 14. Powerful Real-Time Monitoring

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

I've been using Netdata for infrastructure monitoring across multiple servers, and I must say it delivers exceptional real-time visibility into system health. The per-second granularity and wide range of pre-configured metrics make it incredibly valuable for detecting and resolving performance issues quickly.
Setup is quite quick, it is light weight and scalable.
The UI is intuitive and offers detailed, per-second charts for CPU, memory, network, disk, and more.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

While the default dashboards are great, customizing them can be unintuitive and lacks flexibility.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Netdata, identifying the root cause of performance issues on our servers was time-consuming.

Netdata solved this by providing per-second visibility into critical system metrics like CPU, memory, disk I/O, network, and running processes. This level of detail allows us to pinpoint performance bottlenecks almost instantly.

  ### 15. Reliable Monitoring with Great Usability and Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amitayu M. | Senior DevSecOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

What I like best about Netdata is that they actively listen to client pain points and make a real effort to resolve or address them to the client’s satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

One thing I dislike is that Netdata sometimes updates the agent automatically without prior notice. It would be better if clients received an alert before the update so they can prepare accordingly.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata helps us monitor system performance in real time, detect issues quickly, and reduce downtime. It gives us clear insights into resource usage, which improves troubleshooting and overall system stability.

  ### 16. Easily the biggest bang for buck of any resource monitoring tool we have tried

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan B. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

It just works, out of the box it will give you more metrics that you have ever dreamed of AND give you sensible alerts for those metrics.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

If you are running it at scale on your own infrastructure (hosting your own parent node) then documentation is lacking and some (small features) are missing.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Netdata to monitor and alert on resources of servers in our infrastructure. We really struggled to find a solution for our MSP. We manage hundreds of Linux servers across many operating systems, services and providers.

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Aside from the automated metrics graphing and alerting in Netdata which by itself is amazing, Netadata can also provide HashiCorp Consul service healtcheck failure alerts automatically by simply collecting metrics through the StatsD protocol -- a wonderful side effect I was not expecting at all and one that I absolutely needed! I was already planning to use Netdata due to all the other monitoring alerts it already provides out of the box, and knowing it can automatically monitor my HashiCorp Nomad integrated with Consul is definitely the cherry on top.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Container setup can take a few tries since you need to provide the correct mountpoints and other settings scattered throughout the manual, but everything is documented and once done it works wonderfully -- I haven't had a single Netdata instance crash in more than six months of constant monitoring and alerting.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cluster monitoring, alerting and debugging are my primary uses. More specifically, misallocating the service stack memory usage within HashiCorp Nomad can result in strange errors that are hard to debug. However Netdata can provide alerts for out-of-memory services within the Nomad cluster which is exactly what I was looking for at the time I stumbled upon Netdata.

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

I've been using Netdata on my Linux systems for about half a year, and I've got to say: it's been pretty solid. The installation and customization are painless, which is always appreciated.

What's really helped us is Netdata's ability to uncover issues we didn't notice, like failed disk arrays. Identifying and fixing these problems quickly has helped us cut downtime significantly. If you're running Linux, I'd say Netdata is a smart choice.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Windows is a struggle. There is some support via VNodes, but you'll need a Linux server and Prometheus. You also can't use custom stats yet. The Windows stats collection process is still in the works and it isn't quite as smooth as for Linux.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata quickly identifies and alerts me of system issues, like failed disk arrays, on my Linux systems. This early detection enables me to solve problems swiftly, significantly reducing downtime. It’s a user-friendly, all-in-one monitoring tool that has streamlined my diagnostics process and made system maintenance noticeably hassle-free.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meet P. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

At a minimal cost, Netdata offers real-time high fidelity, lightweight operation, data privacy, and scalability. It monitors everything from Operating Systems and Databases to Networks and Applications. Setup and usage are simple.
Open-source and free to use. Track a variety of variables at the grain level.
Interactive graphs and dashboards that can be customized. Several systems for changing. An actual plug-and-play device. It uses a small number of resources. It's compatible with Prometheus and Grafana.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

There are no integrations for Microsoft products and no version or data collector for Windows. Monitoring of Windows environments needs improvement. Not enough third-party monitoring (APM) services and programs are supported. Not the best choice for examining past events. Can't separate and combine statistics from different nodes. Only accessible via a web browser.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me with Customizing dashboards and interactive graphs. Setting up dashboards in war rooms with real-time data and visualizations while organizing nodes. To facilitate better root cause analysis, it provides segmentation. The dashboards allow you to monitor the operation and condition of the nodes you add to your War Rooms.
It helps in designing to handle an almost limitless range of gathered or transmitted metrics since the data is merely streamed and not uploaded or saved to the cloud; streaming metrics aid in ensuring data privacy compliance.

  ### 33. The best real-time monitoring tool in the market

  ### 37. Netdata: Single pane of glass for organizing our node's infrastructure-view & monitoring K8 metrics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghna S. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata offers enhanced visualization of K8 resource utilization clusters that are deployed in our hybrid cloud infrastructure. It provides accurate metric aggregates from various nodes/pods/containers which depend on the grouping that we choose. All contextual data & real-time metrics obtained from our resource can be overviewed effectively from its Modal window panel. The metric correlation feature is also helpful to search specific metrics & charts for a particular anomaly which can be drilled down to find the root cause of the issue.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

Its single-node dashboard only allows us to monitor one server at a time which is hindsight when we require to monitor several servers at the same time. We can define active alerts which effectively capture our dynamic thresholds from our Netdata collector and then integrate them with Amazon SNS to obtain status notifications & server anomalies in real-time.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We include our nodes under the War Rooms utility offered by Netdata to organize them as per our customer requirements. Its single-node dashboard offers all details from a granular level which makes it convenient to perform effective RCA. We can also create dynamic alarms through its dimension templates as it follows many-to-one mapping, suitable for incorporating various alarm entities with dimensions that are dynamic in nature. While provisioning horizontal scaling, all drained K8 nodes will be tagged as unreachable just to ensure that these nodes don't align with our current infrastructure view which is useful for us.

  ### 38. Great, simple to use software for monitoring

  ### 39. NetData Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

NetData is a powerful, lightweight and easy-to-install tool that provides a fully responsive HTML5 display of graphs, histograms and pie graphs on system performance, latencies, speeds, load, average load and many more other information related to the status of services running on the host where it is installed.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The only flaw of netdata is that in the Windows environment, if not through special forks and derivations of this open source tool, it is impossible or almost impossible to monitor all the parameters inherent in the netdata dashboard, therefore, any virtualization systems of Microsoft-based VMs Hyper V will not be monitored through this tool and it is therefore necessary to resort to expensive proprietary tools.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netdata is really easy to configure and guarantee total control of the situation without the need to perform complex SSH checks and various filters to access the data of interest, the real-time alert functions and the highlighting of the problem on the live dashboard the tool the perfect tool for proactive and active monitoring of resources and systems.

  ### 40. Adequate tool for monitoring network, hardware, and the security of a host or a guest

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Germano P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

There are many tools, much more stable and well-known, but what favors netdata in EVERY way is the speed of installation, the responsiveness of the dashboard, and the ease with which it is easy to monitor numerous parameters at extreme levels of depth and detail, with the added possibility of being able to "play" around with widgets, customized dashboards, and various alerting systems all within a truly "plug and play" tool.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

It does not contain utilities or a system capable of keeping the software constantly updated, so it is necessary to frequently visit the developer's website, download, and manually install updates. Furthermore, security is not its strong point as the login occurs without any dialog requesting a password or credentials of any kind.

**Recommendations to others considering Netdata:**

Configure, in production and non-production environments, a bash or python script to obtain automatic updates through daily checks of the versions released on GitHub.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementing netdata within my monitoring team has helped both senior and junior colleagues to relax and not keep their eyes glued to the horrible dashboards of the old tools we used. Thanks to netdata, it was possible to configure visual, animated alerts and via Telegram in less than half a working day, allowing resources to dedicate their time to more interesting activities rather than watching a monitor for all 8 working hours.

  ### 41. A lightweight and updated package for full monitoring of hosts and Virtual Machine guests

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata allows for complete monitoring of the Linux host on which it is installed. The installation size is minimal and has almost no impact on the performance and hardware resources of the host, so it can also be installed in older environments and/or with limited physical or virtual hardware resources remaining. It allows for the monitoring of services, values, and loads through a fully responsive and customizable interface.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The update times of certain values cannot be selected from the dashboard unless by modifying the source code, therefore it becomes complicated to perform real-time monitoring on values considered important to verify the updated status of a service or resource.

**Recommendations to others considering Netdata:**

Remember to keep it updated through cronjobs or similar scheduling as bugs in the Beta phase of Nodes are often fixed and new interesting features are released, available only with manual updates.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitor on a tile of monitors multiple hosts simultaneously to keep important values and parameters related to critical functionalities and services under control, such as network-distributed file systems and networking status.

  ### 42. The ultimate tool for real-time monitoring of performance, speed, and latencies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Germano C. | Research and development manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

NetData is a powerful, lightweight, and easy-to-install tool that allows the visualization on fully responsive web dashboards and HTML5 of graphs, histograms, and pie charts related to system performance, latencies, speeds, load, average load, and many other pieces of information related to the status of services running on the hosts where it is installed. Netdata is really easy to configure and allows total control of the situation without the need to execute complex SSH commands and various filters to access the data of interest. The real-time alerting functionalities and problem highlighting on the live dashboard make it the perfect tool for proactive and active monitoring of resources and systems.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The only drawback of netdata is that in a Windows environment, unless through specific forks and derivations of this open-source tool, it is almost impossible to monitor all the parameters inherent in the netdata dashboard. Therefore, any virtualization systems of VMs based on Microsoft Hyper V will not be monitorable through this tool, and it is thus necessary to resort to expensive proprietary tools.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We produce IoT devices for smart buildings that use proprietary servers and VMs self-hosted at our data center. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the status of these host systems to highlight or become aware of and proactively and promptly resolve any issues that may arise on these host systems, making critical functionalities of the IoT devices installed in the buildings unavailable, such as the timed closing of glass doors or the dimming via cloud command from an Android app of the blinds integrated into the glass of each room.

  ### 43. Excellent tool for continuous graphical monitoring of the status of resources and services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrizio T. | IT Support Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata allows in a clear and aesthetically (as well as graphically) very pleasing way to identify and monitor various aspects and values of hardware resources, service status, load percentages, usage, errors, and averages of operating systems (mainly Linux) and the services that revolve around them. In my company, it finds application in multiple fields: 24/7 monitoring for 365 days a year of business-critical client assets, monitoring of networking devices, bandwidth controls, and unified monitoring of multiple physical hosts (used for example for the virtualization of VMs). It is open source and allows for modification and adaptation according to one's needs and requirements. I love its simplicity and the fact that it uses well-documented configuration files rather than languages with mandatory and confusing indentation.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

There is little possibility, except through the additional fping module, to monitor additional Linux nodes or services from a netdata node. In many use cases, it would simply be enough to monitor the status of some ports and display it on the netdata graph of the main node, but unfortunately, this is not possible because the fping module does not allow port tests but only the ICMP protocol. It would be useful to integrate Zenmap.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to netdata, I was able to create, almost at no cost, for the support ops team of my company, a screen that was then placed on a high-resolution videowall for continuous monitoring of the company's IT and networking infrastructure. This includes customer services with strict SLAs that are continuously monitored, as well as security appliances, backup, disaster recovery, and administration that require proactive alerting in case of issues or values outside the recommended threshold.

  ### 44. Ad-hoc tool, perhaps the best, for proactive graphical monitoring of important assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio I. | DevOps Engineer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata is simply perfect, I say simply because besides being installed with a simple command from the CLI, it is very lightweight, fast, and does not impact system resources at all despite the remarkable features it contains. Most importantly, it allows for the complete configuration of an active, proactive monitoring system with just a few clicks. Even more importantly, it is graphical and GUI-based for every system parameter with truly astonishing granularity and depth for a free and open-source tool.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The support for third-party applications and monitoring systems (or monitoring APIs) is poor, and often the parsing of external JSON parameters and various indices is complicated or so costly to obtain that one is forced to use proprietary monitoring systems rather than integrate into netdata. In any case, it is not necessarily a negative point; it is simply not yet mature enough to perform this type of action.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create a dashboard active 24/7 with real-time updates and alerting for a security operation center and a corporate network operation center to keep, for a team of about 6 people, every single network parameter, CPU, load, RAM, and additional values under control, which, if abnormal, could suggest issues with cybersecurity or networking, an excellent graphical alternative to Zabbix as well as beautiful, indeed stunning, to see on a wall-mounted videowall.

  ### 45. Best monitoring tool ever for dashboards and proactive monitoring of nodes and hosts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dario S. | Support engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata convinced me from the first use as it presents itself with an easy-to-use and configurable graphical interface, fully responsive with a minimal and material design. The vast amount of data it can read on the host system once installed is immense, allowing for both basic superficial monitoring (e.g., CPU %, RAM %, downstream and upstream bandwidth) and granular monitoring of parameters inherent in the operating system in use.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

I like everything about netdata, a graphical customization menu for the web GUI would help many companies and industry specialists create personalized views and dashboards instead of the usual grey-themed dashboards that do not adapt well to large arrays of videowalls in dedicated monitoring rooms due to the dark color.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proactively monitor through a team that works 24/7 to view such data in real-time, the health status and activity status of certain hosts and their running services considered business critical for our operations and those of our clients. I never expected that such a lightweight and free tool could solve such a large and widespread problem, it amazed me!

  ### 46. Excellent for monitoring business-critical applications and services on video walls

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Domenico A. | Senior System automation engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

We have used and continue to use netdata for all our virtual machines containing business and business-critical client services that need to be proactively monitored 24/7 for 365 days. I like netdata for its extensibility and the fact that it is completely free and without limitations, as well as being easily installable and really lightweight to install even on machines that already have intensive CPU usage.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

I like everything about netdata, it would just need to improve the multi-user mode and alerting via SMTP to the interested users included in a group in case of reaching alarming thresholds on a graph. Additionally, I have already proposed on GitHub as a solution a blink or an auto-focus of the parameters that go above a certain threshold to draw the operator's attention to the concerned value without them having to continuously scroll and search for everything.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proactively monitor and give access to a team of operators on rotation through a dashboard to all business-critical services that, in case of shutdown, crash, or various issues, could lead to legal or contractual problems due to the SLA agreed upon between our company and the client companies.

  ### 47. Excellent tool for monitoring active services on Linux hosts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rino L. | Linux engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

Netdata is the ultimate free and open-source tool for monitoring Linux systems of all kinds, their hardware specifications, and almost all the services running on them. It allows multiple users (multi-user mode) the ability to create fully customized dashboards and views, enabling the division of monitoring by areas, teams, or applications.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

The APIs are a bit outdated and poorly documented in the official documentation, however, in my scenario they are of little use as access to the monitoring dashboard is sufficient.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to check the status of nginx and its load percentages through a GUI, which is not provided in the community version of nginx. Netdata turned out to be the ideal tool for this problem.

  ### 48. Simple, immediate monitoring that is easy to understand even for beginners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaetano A. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

NetData allows, in a completely graphical manner and with an installation on Linux of only two commands, to monitor every single detail and value of one or more host systems or one or more guest systems to have at a glance and under continuous monitoring, in an orderly manner and divided into fully customizable sections, the intake of very important data related to workloads, active services, load of active services, networking statistics, cybersecurity statistics and averages, and hundreds of customizable tests through integrated and/or integrable plugins like fping and iperf that allow you to start and automatically display on the dashboard the results of advanced pings and bilateral connection tests and the related measurement of available and used bandwidth. It therefore allows anyone (in my company we have assigned some interns who are experts in monitoring but not in software related to this activity) to view, on hourly shifts, the data on the dashboard by examining the triggers, alarms, and creating and configuring the alerts and verification actions necessary to resolve or report the problem to the appropriate person, a very useful tool for those who host systems of various kinds with relatively strict SLAs imposed by clients or other entities.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

It is not easy to integrate the monitoring of external systems such as Wi-Fi SDN statistics, gateways, IoT devices with standard protocols and so on, despite the availability of official APIs open to everyone in multiple formats. Additionally, a basic documentation should be created regarding the use and creation of tasks, triggers, and alarms.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have employed interns with little experience in monitoring critical and complex systems without the need for specific training, except for basic actions on security measures to be taken in case of alarms and triggers beyond a certain threshold. In this way, our company has been able to train inexperienced students in proactive monitoring systems, also saving human resources and hours per individual resource in monitoring such assets. Thanks to netdata, we manage to meet client KPIs and SLAs, avoiding dissatisfaction and proactively resolving potentially harmful situations before they can impact one or more nodes of our clusters.

  ### 49. monitoring for servers, which are virtual machines or bare metal

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Netdata?**

netdata is very simple to install, especially as a container. netdata is just as simple to use, in fact it will be enough to say its url in the browser. it allows you to monitor all the vital parameters of a server and set alarms on them.

**What do you dislike about Netdata?**

of netdata I do not like the fact that it is not possible to monitor many servers that make up a cluster, for example, from a single interface. would have been useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Netdata:**

netdata software is not implemented for monitoring multiple server cluster.

**What problems is Netdata solving and how is that benefiting you?**

with netdata we monitor the most important servers of our architecture, set alarms on the vital parameters of the machine so we are sighted if the use of resources for example is beyond normal operation.
