What is N-able Take Control, and what problem is it built to solve?

N-able Take Control is used to connect technicians to client computers remotely so they can troubleshoot issues and provide support without being onsite. It supports both on-demand connections and access to devices that are already set up for remote support.

What languages does N-able Take Control support?

N-able Take Control supports 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is N-able Take Control the best fit for?

N-able Take Control has its clearest user-reported fit among small businesses and mid-market organizations, especially those working in IT services.
  • Small businesses: The most represented company-size segment among positive users.
  • Mid-market organizations: Also represented among positive users, though less prominently than small businesses.
  • Information Technology and Services: The most prominent industry among positive users.

How long does it take to implement N-able Take Control across a team?

Teams commonly report getting N-able Take Control up and running in less than a day, making it a practical option when remote support access is needed quickly.

What customer support options does N-able Take Control provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through chat. The support experience is mixed: some users describe helpful, timely assistance, while others report difficulty getting issues resolved or receiving a response.

What is the experience like for teams switching to N-able Take Control from another tool?

Switching to N-able Take Control is often driven by lower costs, a more convenient fit with the N-able RMM environment, or a desire for straightforward remote access. It has replaced tools such as TeamViewer, LogMeIn, Splashtop, and Zoho Assist; users value consolidated access and simpler connections, though the transition can still bring trade-offs in interface polish or connection reliability.

What tools and platforms does N-able Take Control integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

N-able Take Control is most often described alongside other tools in the N-able ecosystem, with Passportal also mentioned.
  • N-able RMM and monitoring: N-central, N-able RMM, and N-able monitoring.
  • Password management: Passportal.
These connections can make it easier to launch remote sessions from an existing management workflow and bring related tools closer to technicians’ day-to-day support work.

What features or capabilities could make N-able Take Control even more useful?

The most useful improvements would make remote sessions easier to manage, especially for teams supporting devices with multiple monitors.
  • Multi-monitor support: Make switching between displays smoother and allow technicians to view screens side by side.
  • Connection performance and reliability: Reduce slow connections, disconnects, and difficulty reconnecting after a reboot.
  • Session recording: Make automatic recording easier to use for reviewing support work.
  • Interface customization: Add more options to tailor the technician console and client-facing experience.

"New support experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about N-able Take Control?

We are about to complete 5 years of using the tool with the best cost-benefit in the market, which we hired in 2014 for having the best features at the time and still do, I am enjoying the new updates. Uncomplicated device management and interaction with our customers, support and sales team always cordial and helpful. Good performance reports. Fast and efficient tool for remote access, even in places where the internet is not good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about N-able Take Control?

Delay in the Development Department to return responses or implement features. I didn't like the applet for Android (I tried to use it at the beginning of the year, but it didn't work on my phone) so I ended up not implementing it. One of the messages I sent via the web platform was not returned, as soon as the new interface was introduced. The cost of the tool is still high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Take Control, The software to do support assistance"
5/5
What do you like best about N-able Take Control?

Everything. Is a powerful software for remote support and control. Customize website with our logo for access from my clients, simple and easy. With one simple click you can create a PIN to my clients enter on the website and download the software to remotely access the computer. It works on PC, MAC, Android, IOS and Linux. Today we have internet everywhere so It's great to support my clients wherever we are, even through my smartphone. The smartphone app can use fingerprint recognition to open. There's a lot of information we can have when accessing a device. We can access the system shell, comprehensive system info, basic system health, drag and drop or copy-paste file transfer, remote registry, remote desktop, restart in safe mode, event logs, all even with slower connections. Take control of everything from the admin website, create more IT techs with different login and pass, helpdesk connections and time by IT techs, customize the file that will be downloaded from clients, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Very Good Remote Connection Utility which is built for IT Service Providers"
5/5
What do you like best about N-able Take Control?

The way the connection can be made to remote machines. End User can send a connection request via the 6 Digit Pincode we share or the Support Link we share to them. Computers can be added to our list so that we can access the machine at anytime if we want. It will show the status of the Saved machines if the services are running at their end which helps to inform the client the machine is down or not. Online Chat and File sharing options available. A history of all the sessions maintained which helps some one to review later. Various commands can be executed on the go with interactions button including the facility to take the screenshot, recording the session, restarting the system, Remote Registry, System shells, Windows Commands, Passing Ctrl+Alt+Del etc. In short its a handy and hassle-free product which will not let us feel we are working through a remote utility. We can transfer the connection to some other technicians. Shutdown/Restart and Emergency Reboot option available in a click or with Keyboard Shortcuts. Complete system information like OS, CPU, RAM, Network, Harddisk Drive Information can be seen once connected. Lots of other features are there. Anyone can just try using it for trial to experience it rather than reading the review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
