A good project management tool **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2024 **What do you like best about MyCollab?** I like that it has kaban-like boards to manage projects and the interface is also good I can get a very good picture of the project and the stage it is in. **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** For small businesses it can be a bit expensive if you have a team of 10 to 15 people it is expensive as the plan starts at 30 users, we don't utilize the complete plan expense. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of a simple tool that is not too overwhelming to manage projects, For other tools it is tough to get a complete overview unless you add some settings, with MyCollab it's effortless to use. ### 3. Keeping track of issues and discussions at the project level is beneficial. I can establish projects, assign them to teams, and discuss the problem. Their user interface is good, and we don't need any training to use their product. It's simple to use. **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** The community/open source edition does not have time tracking or calendar functions. To enjoy these features, you must purchase a personal plan. It was often difficult for team members to update the real-time remarks on a project discussion. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's a useful tool for keeping track of the project's progress. Projects can be assigned several statuses, such as in progress, released, or open pending resolution. We could also manage projects and track time for issue reports that have been resolved, however, this is a chargeable function. We used to assign a job to a team member, who could then update the assignment's status while working on it. This is similar to Active Collab, except it offers more functionality. ### 4. It's not overly complex and they use a familiar template so various types of users can use it efficiently. **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** There are other options like Microsoft Teams which seems to be more advanced and more popular. Tools like mantis and bugzilla may be more renowned offering more users postont helpful content. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can share large documents. I love the Cloud-based platform but I can use I-Cloud and One Drive as well. It's helping build lasting relationships and it is a neat central hub for us to network about many projects to come. ### 5. Th best things are it is AWS backed and has a user friendly interface in that it is intuitive and looks nice to work with. **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** The cost of ownership is comparatively high compared to peers, but you need to compare like for like and this is a platform of tools, so no need for licenses for lots of other software; this can cover most business functions. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used this for a small start up charity which is project heavy, needed a tools with collaboration functionality and that can track project task progress. MyCollab covers all of these. ### 6. Updates are near realtime and haven't seen any downtime with it **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** It's ticketing part is not very professional in terms of UI, status for tickets and ones at risk shown in red can be better represented **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** * Helping my team work together * Tracking various issues with tickets * project timeline management ### 7. It allows for seamless communication with all team members at once, making it fast and straightforward to get all necessary info over to the whole team quickly & succinctly. I'm able to share files quickly and easily to illustrate a point which is invaluable for adding context to a project. **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** As a small business, this software is a little bit on the expensive end. For larger companies, I'm sure the cost is easily justifiable, however. There are less expensive alternatives out there which is why we ultimately decided to move away from this software. The benefits just didn't outweigh the costs for us. **Recommendations to others considering MyCollab:** I would use this if you are a larger company that can justify the cost. It's great for short-term use if you are a smaller company too. Just be prepared for a slightly higher sticker price. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** MyCollab was great during the pandemic and lockdowns when we had to work with teams remotely who would otherwise have come into the office to meet and discuss projects with us. It was definitely helpful in keeping in close contact and clearly conveying ideas to the whole team. ### 8. Finally a collaborative teams program to use, with a simple interface that works so easily. And the support team is very quick if you ever have a problem. They resolve it without wait **What do you dislike about MyCollab?** Sometimes when uploading larger files or downloading larger files the page makes you reload because it wont finish. Not a major problem, has only happened twice. **What problems is MyCollab solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having everything in one place rather than utilizing several different programs to get the same thing done has made it so much more convenient as well as streamlining a lot of processes. ### 9.
