# Are there Q&A platforms built for expert-level answers instead of just open community discussion?

Answerbase: Rated 4.8 on G2. The most direct match: it lets you turn off open community answering entirely, so only vetted experts respond to questions. That makes it a fit where wrong answers carry real cost, like product support or regulated topics.

Starmind: Rated 4.8 on G2. Takes the routing approach: its AI identifies who inside the organization actually knows the subject and sends the question to them, rather than waiting for whoever volunteers. G2 users rate its Q&A capability at 95%.

Stack Internal (formerly Stack Overflow for Teams): 4.5 stars, 790+ reviews, the deepest review base for this use case. Expertise gets surfaced through the reputation system and accepted answers, the model that made Stack Overflow work, applied privately inside a company.

Capacity: 4.7 stars, 110+ reviews. Solves it by removing the crowd altogether: an AI answers from a curated, expert-approved knowledge base, so the "answerer" is always working from vetted content.

The routing model is the most interesting to me. With Starmind, the challenge isn’t convincing experts to monitor another community; the question finds them. I’d want to see what happens when the system routes incorrectly, though. Can users redirect it easily enough that expertise mapping gets smarter over time?
