What do you like best about Monograph?

I’ve had a great experience with Monograph so far. My onboarding process has taken a little longer, but that’s entirely on me as I’ve been working through getting all of our documentation and systems organized. The Monograph team has been incredibly patient, helpful, and supportive throughout the entire process—they’ve truly held my hand every step of the way.

Kenny has been amazing to work with, and I’ve been very happy with the onboarding experience. I especially love how easily Monograph integrates with QuickBooks and how streamlined the invoicing and project management options are.

I would absolutely choose Monograph again. The software is great, but the level of support throughout onboarding has made the experience even better. Yes, absolutely I feel like it is doing everything I need it to do, and I am getting the value out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Staff Time Management and Streamlined Invoicing"
4/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

Intuitive to use. We were able to transition our invoicing process from paper-based to fully digital within the software. Our onboarding contact was responsive and open to feedback. The integration with QBO, while not seamless, is streamlined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

There are challenges in the way Monograph is set-up for subconsultants, specifically regarding assignment of consultant billings to project phases and tracking consultant invoice amounts that differ from fees charged to the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Navigate Interface with Practical Features and Strong QuickBooks Online Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

The overall interface is very easy to navigate. Our office has opted to use the Grow subscription, which has a large number of features that we are actually using. There doesn't look to be extra "bells and whistles" just to present as additional features, they are actually applicable to our firm's everyday operations. Our firm has transitioned from a previous ERP software that was very cumbersome to operate, and in the 3 months that we have been utilizing the software, it has outperformed the previous software we had for 2 years. Our office can quickly assign, view, and review all aspects of our workload, which has been a crucial aspect to allow us to take on more work and keep it organized. The integrations with QuickBooks Online has allowed our principals to get a comprehensive visual picture of the firm's financial performance without the need to switch between programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

While navigations is fairly intuitive, there are portions that can become slightly off-putting. For example, the need to go back and forth between different tabs can occur from time to time when scheduling new projects. There tends to be some slight difficulty in returning to the exact view previously shown if filters were set. Additionally, our office has a preference to review tangible prints and paper for certain things. As monograph is predominantly a digital tool, our scheduling meetings, and any impromptu project detail meetings now requires us to incorporate the use of the program on a shared screen, or in a conference room, rather than quickly at a desk. The ability to export some of the information would be helpful in these situtations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Project Management with Powerful Financial Insights"
5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

I think Monograph is a fantastic tool for my firm with its smart interface that makes data from timesheets really useful. I love its financial reports, especially when combined with timekeeping and the intuitive interface, which makes it truly unique. The Money Gantt chart is incredibly helpful for getting a quick glance to gauge the health of individual projects and phases. It's also great for project schedules and tracking with the milestone feature, and I find the pipeline feature for project leads very helpful in speeding up the estimating process. The onboarding process was simple and really helped us feel confident in using the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

We've been using Monograph for only a short time, so we're still figuring things out as new users. One issue we've noticed is with adding historical data. It was kind of tricky when we switched from using it as a free consultant to a paid account. Specifically, there was a project we had already uploaded invoices for, and when we transitioned to a paid user, Monograph didn't recognize the amounts we had already invoiced. It got resolved eventually, but the process was a bit long and slowed down our initial invoicing for that project. I think it could definitely be a smoother process. "Streamlined Operations with Intuitive Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

I really appreciate Monograph for its smooth onboarding process, which allowed us to get our team up and running with minimal disruption. The platform is intuitive and easy for my staff to adopt, particularly when it comes to timekeeping and project management. I'm looking forward to seeing how the reporting side of Monograph becomes increasingly valuable as our data grows. Our initial experience with invoicing was positive, and one of our clients specifically praised the clean and easy-to-read format of the new invoices. Additionally, the Monograph team has been responsive and knowledgeable, showing genuine interest in how our firm operates. Overall, I've been very pleased with Monograph and the people behind it, as it feels like a platform designed by those who understand the architecture firm's needs. What do you dislike about Monograph?

I wish there was greater flexibility in invoice customization. Architecture and engineering firms often have specific billing formats, especially for lump sum and percentage of construction cost contracts. It would be great to be able to select and arrange columns more freely, including items like phase, percent complete, previous billing, current billing, fee earned, and total fee, to better match what we use and what our clients are used to seeing. "Easy Project Setup, Responsive Support, and Customizable Look"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

What is most helpful in Monograph is the ease in which you can set up a project. Their customer support is good as they always have tried to remedy any issues in a timely manner. Their product is adjustable in terms of how it looks more than other products of the same type. Transferring our data from the previous system to this one was pretty straight forward and was explained well. Help was always a call or an online chat away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

Some of the invoice customizing could be a little better but is still better than it's competitors. Right now there is no way to change the employee billing rates on a specific project if your project spans enough time where they would have changed. (multi year project). "Empowers Project Management with CFO Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

I love that I can make a decision about micro bits of information related to future phases. Monograph integrates really well with QuickBooks online, which we work completely, exhaustively with. It gives me real-time evidence of how labor relates to contracts and fees and billing, allowing me to plan better for future projects and determine gaps in financial planning, team performance, and dynamics. The onboarding support from Malik has been wonderful and really, really helpful, tirelessly helping us onboard and answering complex questions both on a strategic macro scale and data entry micro scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

I dislike that you can't turn the colors off; maybe I should just pick one and make all the projects the same color. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Time Tracking and Forecasting, but Reporting and Rate Changes Feel Limited"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

Its pretty user friendly - its easy to create new projects, manage invoices/billing, assign employees to tasks/projects. It's really great at tracking both past and future hours. The staffing feature showing how busy everyone will be for the next weeks/months is really helpful for assigning future work. When we switched timekeeping software it was pretty smooth, our employees didn't have difficulty adjusting to the new software. Tracking expenses is really easy too. There is lots to love about Monograph. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

It's limited in some features. It doesn't allow you to export any of the data as PDF unless its an invoice. We had to get a custom payroll report to track our billable vs overhead hours (which was great they were able to do that for us) but again limited feature usage. A big annoyance is Monograph doesn't let you back date rate change. Often billable rates are scheduled to change on a specific day but they are negotiated after that day has passed. Monograph doesn't have a feature to let you go and back date all those hours to the new rate, you have to do it manually and it's soooo frustrating. It makes invoicing such a pain. We've also been with them for less than a year and they already added a new feature with a paywall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One-Stop Shop for Project Management, Needs Refinements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

I like the simplicity of the user interface of Monograph. The all-inclusive features really help us run a good portion of our business without having to subscribe to several different pieces of software and figuring out how to integrate them. Monograph pulls all the data into one place at a reasonable price, which is quite beneficial for our business operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

I think some of the reporting needs to be refined a little bit for accounting and operations purposes. Some of the way the phases work and services in our company don't have a way to clearly define services as part of phases. We have to create our phases and rename them as services, which is probably our biggest hang-up. This is so it can flow through into invoicing. Also, Monograph doesn't link out to too much else outside of it yet, except for QuickBooks. Tasking can be improved and decoupled from milestones/deliverables. This includes where the tasks can be created from in the software and how we monitor the status of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transparent Cost & Revenue Tracking, but QuickBooks Sync and Implementation Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Monograph?

The most helpful thing for our architecture business is that all of the costs and revenue are in one place. It makes our business more transparent to everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Monograph?

For me, as the accountant, I have trouble getting some things into quickbooks online. Sometimes I can't figure out why easily and don't feel that i have anyone that I pick up the phone and call.

Implementation was also a struggle. We probably went a little slower than most and Monographs timeline is their timeline and it didn't feel like there was any wiggle room. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
