To start off, the sales people of Mercanis reached out to us via LinkedIn. At first, I was skeptical, but I consulted with my boss and got back to the Mercanis team a few days later. They responded quickly and after a demo that we were given a few days after, we decided to try it. This was about a month ago and now I can say with confidence that we are extremely satisfied with the software. While finding external services had been a painpoint for us before, they greatly simplified it for us. It saved us a tremendous amount of time.

To be specific, the process used to look like this: search for service providers to do a job for us, which took several days by itself. Then we had to reach out to them to receive different offers (also took multiple days). Then, after we had enough offers, we could compare them and decide on one. This was quite tedious and required multiple exchanges to coordinate milestones of the projects and price negotiations. With Mercanis though, we were able to drastically reduce the time and effort of this process and focus more on the work. The search for service providers took about one afternoon and reaching out to them could be done on the spot. The next day we had received feedback from about half and had these to compare. We defined the milestones in Mercanis and did not have to redo it with every service provider. Costs were also negotiated quickly and could even be accessed inside the Mercanis software which helped with transparency.

At this point I would like to say that the whole Mercanis team (the ones I interacted with) was very nice, supportive and knowledgable throughout the process. Even the salespeople (which I usually really dislike) were very sympathetic and actually checked whether Mercanis would have a usecase for us as a company. Therefore, I can only recommend trying it! We had a few issues with the software throughout the process. For example, one day we could write outside a textbox in the software (I know nothing major but still). Little things like this happened a few times but otherwise no complaints! However, we had expected this since they told us before the demo and sale that they are still a very young company and that a few things might not be perfectly refined. For all these issues, we reached out to them and as i can remember they were fixed within the same day or at most 2 days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mercanis really cares about its customers. On several occasions, we had issues with the software that required better understanding or some customization. This was always solved within a few days and therefore could be used and implemented very quickly. Being a young company such as Mercanis is also comes with disadvantages. There are quite a few iterations from time to time. These were always communicated, however, required some adaption. This never took longer than an afternoon but is useful to consider. Nevertheless, over time it became less and did not have any changes in the last while cause it worked well for us. Being a relatively young company without a lot of experience, we needed a system which helps us find the best service suppliers. With this tool, we were able to filter the best ones and increased the quality of the service providers. Additionally, by comparing more suppliers, we were often able to get a better deal and saved a lot of money in the process.

The best aspect is the usability and the intuitive workflows. It's easy to understand for everyone at what stage the project is and what must be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mercanis is still growing quickly, implementing new features regularly. While it's nice to have all those features, we were often overwhelmed and could not train our staff to use them. I guess that wouldn't be a big problem for bigger companies procuring more services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am very happy about the implementation of Mercanis in our organization as we are now able to source services way more efficient than we were before. My company has been struggling with purchasing professional services for quite a while now as we found no suitable solution that covered all our needs. Mercanis is an extremely young software and we were granted an exclusive free trial. During this trial no apparent problems arose. One thing I'd like to point out though is that this software is exclusively for suited for procuring services. For our organization, that was exactly what was needed. I could imagine that procurement managers who'd like to use only one software for physical goods AND services may be disappointed as Mercanis doesn't support physical products.
