These are the two items we focus on a lot daily. Mx does not just document completion of executed steps during the manufacturing process. It allows you to easily configure defined parameters and what happens when entered values exceed these limits. The Review by Exception tool allows quality assurance reviewers to focus on specific key areas of the batch record rather than completing a line-by-line review due to these configurable controls. In addition, the product is integrated with the quality solutions of MasterControl, including documents, training, and quality events. For example, the system performs training checks to prevent users from working on a batch record if their training is not complete (there is an option for a supervisor override), and deviations can be launched and linked from the batch record with the quality event status clearly visible to batch reviewers. Lastly, we like how easy the software is to implement and use; we are able to configure it ourselves without needing ongoing consultants. When needed, MasterControl's support team is among the best I've interacted with. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** There are some minor software limitations, for example you cannot correct or change a lot number after a batch record is created. There are also some features, such as global elements, that cannot be used in conjunction with other features, such as product families. With the convuluted nature of manufacturing processes it is ideal to have a program able to handle intricate details and ways of documenting information. MasterControl allows us to form the software around our process, instead of forming a process around what the software can handle. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** One downside to MasterControl is the ease of integration with other software. Combined with Controlled Documents, Deviations, SOPs, CAPAs etc it creates a solid system . From an outside eye this shows control of our process, and allows users to work in a central software to complete daily tasks. Efficiency and quality are both raised to the next level when using software like MasterControl. ### 22. The Mx solution is flexible for a company's unique requirements. A wide range of data can be captured. The software is very user-friendly and is relatively easy to learn. New Update: MasterControls Mx solution is above other MES being used in industry today. Not only is it flexible for companies making widgets, it is so configurable, that our unique product line can also be accommodated in the workflow. Above all, the employees at MasterControl are the BEST, most kind, helpful individuals I have ever met in a single company. Aces all around. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** Despite the flexibility of the Mx Solution, there are some rigidities that limit the direct translation from paper-based practices to electronic ones. The limitations of the 'Instruction' Type Phase instruction often makes it difficult to put emphasis on certain instructions over others. **What problems is MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence solving and how is that benefiting you?** The 'New Feature Request' page is very useful as it allows existing Customers to see what features / functionalities other Customers of MaterControl have suggested and recommended to MasterControl. It is great to see that MasterControl LISTENS to the Customer. In order to build an even more functional software package, they have Quarterly and Annual updates in which these newly designed features 'Go Live'. New Update: Production Chemists/Operator errors have been nearly eliminated from the production floor at our company. The platform has streamlined our reviewing process and enabled for faster turnaround times to get product and corresponding documentation out of the door faster than ever before. ### 24. It is a constantly evolving system but I do beleive that at some point they should step back and address ongoing concerns before implementing new features. The amount of corrections and discrepancies that stem from individuals handwriting while writing down data. Their on-site training tech was very thorough and addressed every concern we had. He even went the extra mile and built more than a handful of our products within MasterControl to help get things rolling. The service itself has been very responsive on our shop floor even with our aging equipment. Building out and tracking components on the production floor has never been this efficient for us. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** Just about the only issue we've had is user interface. Having a multi-lingual user interface would greatly benefit us. We've implemented a fraction of our Manufacturing procedures so far, but the 'pull' from the Manufacturing department is impressive. They're really positive about the system and are working fast and hard to implement all of our paper-based procedures in MasterControl as quickly as possible. I should mention that 'Manufacturing' in our case encompasses all of our Quality Control procedures as well. The QC department has been a leader in transitioning testing procedures to Mx, and as such, our testing procedures mesh seamlessly with our manufacturing procedures to create fulsome, integrated production records that can be QA-reviewed all together. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** At present our nonconformance procedures are outside of MasterControl, and therefore any nonconformances are executed on paper and are then scanned into the Mx production records. This is on us. The savings we have had as a company just from moving away from paper records is worthwhile enough, but the modular nature and no-code simplicity of the interface has allowed us simplify all of our records in a way that was easy to implement. Also, the interface with our quality system was seamless and API integrations are something we are looking forward to putting in place. Also we can leverage our training module by adding training dependencies to our records, and users that aren't trained on associated procedures will not be able to enter data in that area of the record until they complete outstanding training. The eBR template builder is easy to use with tools that allow for many properties to be associated with individual steps. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** Downtime management. While MasterControl has taken great strides to reduce the amount of time this module is down, there are still times when defects / enhancements need to be patched. For a 24/7 manufacturing facility this can be tough. All the parts we manufacture are entirely different from each other and require new templates for every order. MasterControl allows us to easily create new ones for every order and keep up with our current order pace. Building the templates is not a bottleneck like it was with other programs we have tried. There is so much data available for management to know the status of orders and gain insight into production efficiencies. The shop interface is very simple and our employees picked up on it very quickly. **What do you dislike about MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence?** There isn't an instant way to find out overall production status of all orders. Our company has hundreds of open orders at a given time, and with MasterControl, there isn't a top management view of status of all orders. You can either open up order by order, or you can have MasterControl run daily reports into excel and then create macros to get this information. The information is available, but not super convenient to get to outside of creating your own macro. **What problems is MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence solving and how is that benefiting you?** It gives us detailed information about job status and provides a way to get eDHRs. We previously had a paper-based system that had many limitations. Features take a very long time to implement, even when there are many customers who request a certain feature.
