"Martus: Easy Setup, Intuitive for Non-Finance Teams, and Affordable"

What do you like best about Martus?

Martus is easy to use and easy to set up. You don't need to be a a finance person to understand it and use it. We have educators and artists, who aren't finance minded, who find it easy to use and understand. The price is also very affordable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Martus–Sage Intacct Integration and Easy-to-Use Budgeting Worksheets"

What do you like best about Martus?

The integration between Martus and Sage Intacct feels seamless. I also appreciate the special-purpose worksheets for more detailed budgeting. Overall, the software has been very easy for me to learn and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

I’m struggling to create reports and customize the dashboard. I also wish I could set up a side-by-side view using the specific time periods I need. Right now, Martus only allows viewing the previous year, but I’d like the option to compare multiple years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Budget Management with Real-Time Insights"

What do you like best about Martus?

I like that Martus is user-friendly and syncs with our accounting software Sage. The most beneficial feature for me is being able to track budget to actual in real time. It allows budget owners to have more responsibility over their budgets and expenses, provides visibility into budget versus actual reviews, and lets us see transactions come in almost in real time. This helps us see where we stand in comparison to our budget throughout the year and track that accordingly. It was also really helpful having our own designated consultant, who was fantastic in helping us get trained and set up in the software. Internally, having one person on our team in charge of learning and teaching Martus worked well for our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

I think we're still trying to figure out how to use the Personnel feature in a way that's really helpful. Last year, instead of using the personnel feature, we just did kind of an estimate of salaries and wages costs and just put that amount into Martus as our budgeted number. It just seemed like more work to use the Personnel feature given it was our first year using Martus and we had a time constraint. I would also find it more helpful to be able to leave notes in the Dashboard > Financials reports. When we did Q1 budget vs. actual reviews, I had to export the monthly budget comparison report into Excel, write down all my notes about each variance budget line, and save it outside of Martus. Maybe a ReportBuilder report would be more helpful, but my organization is just starting to use that area of Martus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Martus?

Giving all of our directors and managers visibility into their program without asking the finance team for a report.
