What do you like best about Martus?

Martus has provided a platform that allows me to share up-to-date financial data with departmental managers as well as allows those managers to be an active participant in the budgeting process. What do you dislike about Martus?

My biggest struggle with Martus is related to forecasting. I find it a bit complicated and would love a more user friendly way to reforecast without copying or recreating my original budget and then having to make adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Martus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Martus integrates seamlessly with our accounting software, Sage Intacct, so it allows real-time analysis on performance. It also provides us with the ability to have departmental managers look at their data and be able to drill down into details without us having to pay for more expensive Intacct licenses. "Intuitive and Efficient with Fantastic Support"

What do you like best about Martus?

I find Martus very intuitive to use, even as a first-time user. The ease of use really stands out for me. Additionally, the support module is fantastic, which enhances my overall experience with the software. Setting up Martus was extremely easy and fast too. What do you dislike about Martus?

I think that there is a need to continue to improve the personnel budgeting module. Improvements have been made but there is still work to be done. Also, I think Martus needs to develop something for capital expenditure budgeting and have that flow down into the depreciation budgeting in the planner document. "Seamless Data Migration and Sync—Backed by Responsive, Expert Support"

What do you like best about Martus?

The data migration was seamless, and one of the biggest advantages was the synchronization between our accounting software and Martus, which significantly simplified the implementation process.

What do you dislike about Martus?

"Highly Customizable Budget vs. Actual Reporting"

What do you dislike about Martus?

The naming terminology that Martus uses is taking some getting used to. For instance, YTD comparison is called Period Comparison in Martus or Data Source meaning the actual Budget or Actuals that is being referenced. I am also still getting myself familiar with the ReportBuilder feature and learning how I can make forecasting reports along with my Budget vs Actuals reports. Financial data can only be uploaded into Martus. Sometimes we have new activities but no corresponding account, and those still need to be added to the budget. Martus supports adding new activities or other dimension values to your budget worksheets, even if there is no corresponding account yet. When editing a worksheet, users can add lines for needed accounts. This helps ensure budgets stay up to date with new activities, even if the accounts are not yet present. "User-Friendly Interface with Seamless Sage Intacct Integration"

Sometimes the budget reports take a bit to load. To be fair, our coding is complex with 1,350 projects so our overall detailed report is quite lengthy. The report loading time has gotten faster though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralizes Budget Management with a Learning Curve"

What do you like best about Martus?

I like the ability to add notes in Martus, which is really important, and I'm able to tag information easily. It's very helpful to keep an organized budget without having Excel spreadsheets flying everywhere. Having a good centralized place to access budget information is really beneficial. As a budget manager, I can go in and look at where expenses are being coded, which is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

I found it a bit hard to find the exact videos I needed to help solve problems at first, especially as a beginner. While Martus is powerful, the insights while using the program aren't as user-friendly as they could be. There was help available, and I eventually overcame these initial issues, but learning how to use it had a steep learning curve. It would be helpful to have a beginner's path with a more structured sense of what videos to watch to build understanding of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
