We were looking for something to use in lieu of Business Analyst, and this seems to do the trick, but for $30k cheaper. I have access to traffic counts, local businesses, demographic information, drive times, and aerial imagery, all at the tips of my fingers. The program is easy to use, as well; I did not have to spend much time reading instructions in order top get going on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making layouts in Maptitude isn't quite as easy as in ArcMap, from what I can tell, every time I make changes to my map I need to make a new layout, as opposed to ArcMap where I am used to just working in layout mode to begin with. Also, I have yet to figure out how to make a point file from scratch. Also, the drive time rings are in increments as opposed to being able to set each ring separate (example: you can do drive times at 3, 6, 9, or 5, 10, 15, but not 1, 3, 5) . Good to hear that Maptitude has been a cost-effective and efficient solution for your mapping needs. We appreciate your positive feedback about the ease of use and the range of data available. In regard to layouts, when you make changes to a map you can right click the map in the layout and replace it with the updates. Also, point layers can be created by geocoding or from scratch via Tools>Editing>New Layer. Buffers allow any ring size, and drive-time rings will now also have this flexibility. Thanks for the feedback and please contact us if you need any help with the software!
