Maptitude allows me to know my market by demographics. It is a key tool is determining emerging markets for products as well as identifying like markets to capitalize on success of a product. It also allows me to then graphically present the locations of the winning markets. Maptitude provides deep detail demographic data along with the ability to dynamically display our clients data to help us make important business decisions regarding new sites, new products, improved service, and better communication. We now drive all of our expansion decisions through a detailed assessment using the many tools Maptitude offers for geo analysis. "Maptitude - Excellent GIS at a reasonable price"

What do you like best about Maptitude?

Maptitude is possibly the best priced GIS software/data package on the market today. It comes with a phenomenal amount of data, which if bought through normal channels would cost in the thousands of dollars. The complete Maptitude software and data package retails at around $US700.

The typical Maptitude data library includes roads and rail networks, landmark features, lakes, rivers and waterways and a wide range of census geography and demographic attributes. You can literally install the software and within moments have the data you need to produce thematic maps of key demographic variables and then proceed onto more sophisticated analysis such as trade area modelling, network analysis, route studies etc.

One feature that I love is the ability to produce output in Google Earth kmz format. Which means that I can deliver data and geography to clients in a format that they can use instantly which also has a huge 'wow' factor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Maptitude?

The software has been around for a number of years now and while it never ceases to improve in functionality it badly needs some makeup! It looks dated; not that that should put users off, but compared to the glitz and glamour of software developed more recently, it looks very much like someone's ageing uncle... Recommendations to others considering Maptitude:

I would recommend Maptitude to the general business community because of its low cost, huge data library, great functionality and general ease of use (here comes that word "intuitive" again) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Maptitude solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've used the software for a very wide range of business problems. The simplest has been in producing basic maps for franchise and sales territory design. The census attributes and easy to use selection tools take a lot of the pain away. More sophisticated uses include retail site analysis, evaluation of "greenfield" sites and with some innovative "reverse engineering" market segmentation of consumers. Perhaps the best feature has been as a base for fusing data from a wide variety of sources. The tool has been used to identify the location of target markets and monitor the marketing and merchandising activities undertaken in small areas. "Bringing Medical Practice Locations into the Modern Age"

What do you like best about Maptitude?

Historically physicians would use suggestions by other physicians on were to locate. Maptitude allows a view of patient locations and competing practices to identify pockets of undeserved patient populations. Medical practices can now locate based on patient data rather than anecdote. Great tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Maptitude?

Wow. Hard to say. The company has been extremely good at eliminating deficits with each version, so I can't really say I dislike anything about the software. However it is complex and therefore not just an "out of the box" tool. Takes some training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
