Their user interfaces are well thought-through. I've used Mailgun for more than 5 years and rarely had any reasons for complaints. **What do you dislike about Mailgun?** The other day, an 'Email Specialist' of Mailgun reached out to me, telling me that there were 10k undelivered emails on my account in the past month and that my account "breached or exceeded the threshold for acceptable use" and inviting me to a discussion/meeting. I was scared that my account would be cancelled over night, so I checked the logs and found some minor issues that led to some emails being sent too much, but nowhere close to the 10k, Our dev team fixed the issue within 3 days and I told Mailgun that we already fixed it, but they insisted on having a meeting with one of their tech people, several times. I ultimately agreed, as I was curious. The first thing that the person on the meeting showed me was our usage of the past 12 months, and he immediately started to present their new contract/annual billing option, which he was obviously tasked to sell to me. Later on he said 'I hope the other rep didn't scare you, everything is fine with your account usage'. As it turns out it was all just an aggressive sales pitch and they wanted to get my attention by raising a tech issue that didn't really exist. **What problems is Mailgun solving and how is that benefiting you?** Email delivery. ### 4. The only thing that I can mention is that if you want historical and advanced reports (more than 30 days of emails sent), you need to pay an extra monthly fee or upgrade your plan in Mailgun. When you're trying to reach out to the support, they close our tickets without even answering, ghosting. Absolutely WORST product ever used and support team faced, it's absolutely garbage. This goes without saying that Mailgun way of coding emails is terrible, their delivrability is one of the worst of the market. Do yourself a favor, go to sendgrid. Like having account canceled with no warning without breaking the terms? Their support is responsive, they didn't have outages, and they were helpful for the most part. They have decent pricing and a free plan. **What do you dislike about Mailgun?** I had a pretty bad experience with them recently. Let me give you some context. We use their free plan to send low-volume transactional mail from an IT system used internally. We only send transactional mail to emails which are either company employees, or clients of the company. In both cases, we only send transactional mail in response to actions performed by these parties on the system. We send 0-40 emails daily. Fast-forward 1 year, the payment card on file is about to expire. As a responsible customer, I click the link and enter the new card details. The next thing I know, the account is disabled pending "business review". The account is disabled right away, with no prior warning. I open a support case, and they ask me to answer some questions. I answer them, and they just closed the ticket without responding. I open another ticket citing my answers and ask that they re-activate the account ASAP as our IT system is crashing because it can no longer send automated emails. In response, they made the following statement: "After further review, we’ve made the decision that we do not wish to continue our partnership together, and your account has been permanently disabled." After further tickets demanding an explanation, they cited links to their terms of service and acceptable use policy, and did not wish to disclose what policy we have violated. For the record, we had a 2.94% bounce rate, which is below the 5% limit cited in their acceptable use policy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the service based on this, unless you enjoy having your account disabled without warning, for no apparent reason. **Recommendations to others considering Mailgun:** Don't use it unless you enjoy having your access shut without warning or explanation. **What problems is Mailgun solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was a good service for sending trancational mail using their SMTP gateway. It worked well, it was reliable, and it was affordable. ### 15. Since then, our IP cannot spam their users anymore. With Mailgun, this would never happen. But they blocked me upon registration, forced me to contact support, and then said: OFAC raised sanctions against your government and authorities (100 people), so we decided to stop serving entire Belarus. **What do you dislike about Mailgun?** I know that building KYC and compliance might not be easy, and Belarus might not be the "fat" market, but there are 10 million people and thousands of entrepreneurs, and it's not fair to ban them all. I can see the emails being sent from the form or PHP scripts on the Mailgun Control Panel. Here's what I can see immediately on the Mailgun Panel. I know exactly which email was sent properly and which one was not. Mailgun's API is also extremely extensive and allows me to integrate with other services that I use and to provide an option for users to send messages from other services (such as Facebook or other emailing services). I have the ability to create back-end hooks that would fetch emails that were sent from the panel and parse them for further actions. **What do you dislike about Mailgun?** The panel can be confusing and not very friendly to navigate especially when you have multiple domains. I also wish that I could see the SMTP password again once the domain is added. Not having alternative login methods to the Mailgun service would be a solution. There is an option to reset the password to see the password once again, but I would also have to update all of the SMTP password from where I used Mailgun. **What problems is Mailgun solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Mailgun, we can be confident that our emails were delivered, that the content within the email is as we intended it to be, and that our emails were opened by readers. We use Mailgun for just about everything, including transactional, invoices, newsletters, and customer support. The email delivers super fast straight to our customer’s inboxes. With that being said, I trust Mailgun and its reliability to deliver on time. This has increased customer engagement because we wait less time because our emails get handled faster with Mailgun. ### 25.
