"Knit HRIS: Where HR, Payroll & Compliance Meet"
5/5
What do you like best about Knit API?

Knit has evolved beyond being just an HRIS integration platform. With support for a growing ecosystem of integrations—including HRIS providers, ATS platforms like Greenhouse, e-signature solutions, background verification (BGO) services, payroll systems, and other third-party applications—Knit serves as a centralized integration hub. Its unified APIs, standardized data model, reliable data synchronization capabilities, and strong support significantly reduce integration complexity. Instead of building and maintaining separate integrations for each provider, organizations can leverage Knit to connect and scale their ecosystem quickly, securely, and with minimal engineering effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Knit API?

One area where Knit can continue to improve is around data synchronization frequency and error observability. While the current sync intervals are sufficient for most business workflows, organizations that depend on near real-time updates may benefit from more frequent synchronization options.

Additionally, error diagnostics could be more actionable. Today, errors are often surfaced as status codes with basic stack traces, which can make root-cause analysis challenging. It would be valuable to have richer error reporting, such as provider-specific error details, failed payload snapshots, troubleshooting guidance, and clearer visibility into whether the issue originated from the source system, the webhook processing layer, or Knit itself. This would significantly reduce debugging time and improve the integration support experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My experience with the Knit service has been incredibly positive."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Knit API?

The Knit APIs are impressively fast, reliable, and built for modern integration needs. What I appreciate most is the seamless automation across every layer — from OAuth-based authentication and webhook-driven event handling to real-time data sync and rate-limit management. With clean RESTful design, structured JSON responses, and comprehensive error handling, Knit makes integrations effortless. This blend of automation, scalability, and developer-friendly design truly makes it stand out in today's API landscape. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Knit API?

I truly appreciate speed and reliability. However, one aspect worth highlighting is that debugging can be slightly challenging, especially when validating the payload. Additionally, batch-wise API events could be introduced to make data pulls from Knit more cost-effective and load-efficient. Likewise, the custom field mapping API could be made more consistent across the system, which would help reduce conflicts and confusion during integration. Despite these minor considerations, the overall experience with Knit has been positive, and the advantages clearly outweigh these areas of improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Knit API?

The main downside of Knit API is that it doesn’t support many smaller or niche apps yet. The documentation could also be clearer in some areas, which sometimes makes setup a bit tricky. I’ve also noticed occasional bugs that seem to come from limited testing on larger setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
