I like that it's easy to "share" on social media platforms -- that has generated additional support including those who have never supported KIDS FIRST! before. It pays on time, whether through PayPal or Stripe. It doesn't cost a bundle to participate, unlike some other platforms. This is our third year using it and we'll continue to do so. **What do you dislike about FundRazr?** I wish there was an option for recurring donations. I also like that funds raised outside the platform can be counted in the total. These are features that were not available with my previous campaigns on Kickstarter. It's relatively easy to get a campaign off the ground. **What do you dislike about FundRazr?** We've had lots of issues with the platform. One donation got denied because it charged to Canada (we're in the U.S.). The tools for creating campaigns are not very customizeable and not very visually compelling. For donors who choose not to cover their fees, Fundrazr is lying to them and including their total donation toward the fundraising goal even though they will recoup those fees, anyhow - a disservice to both our mission and the donor, and borderline unethical under the tenets of 501c3 status. **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing us with a fundraising platform to reach our mission goals. **Official Response from Mira Soullen:** > Hi Katie, thanks for your feedback and sorry for your experience with one donation getting denied. The fees were way larger than the commission fees first claimed by the company, coming close to 6-7% of the donation. You can do that here which was a big differentiator for us when choosing a platform. No massive fees either, just transaction fees and donors can donate to the website if they want but not required. **What do you dislike about FundRazr?** Transaction fees are taken out, but that is with any site like this. The site is professional in appearance and very simply to navigate. The value is incredible. **What do you dislike about FundRazr?** I cannot think of anything I dislike about Fundrazr. They have been incredibly responsive to any of my questions/suggestions. **Recommendations to others considering FundRazr:** I would highly recommend Fundrazr to any non-profit looking to set up online fundraising. The site is cost-effective, easy-to-use, and the Fundrazr team are incredibly responsive to new ideas and improvements. **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a simple, easy-to-use fundraising platform for a peer-to-peer event. I mentioned the need for a report around charitable tax receipts for the CRA, and within a matter of weeks there was a new menu option on the system to generate this. They are very good at working with users to modify the system with changes based on what would be helpful to the user - and when it would be beneficial to others will roll it out to everyone. **What do you dislike about FundRazr?** I don't like the uncustomizable post-donation experience - having to "skip" several prompts to share on social media is frustrating for our older demographic (who don't tend to interact on social media sites). I have speaken to FundRazr about how we can make this less onerous for non-SM donors, while still encouraging donors who do engage in SM to share / promote our charity, and while still considering the overall process they quickly implemented a "finish" option so uninterested users can bypass the individual questions. **Recommendations to others considering FundRazr:** If you aren't sure about something - reach out to the support team. They have been very good about walking me through how to do things. (In some cases several times when I've forgotten from the year before and can't find my notes!) The staff members I have dealt with have all been friendly and helpful. Sometimes in chatting with FundRazr team members I've mentioned something that wasn't a huge issue, but they provided a different method of handling it that made my life easier. If there's something that you would like to be able to do, ask - there might already be a solution you just haven't come across. **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been using FundRazr for our annual online fundraising campaign since 2015. We previously used two separate systems for online & offline donations. Being able to post and track everything in this one system has made it much easier to reconcile with our accounting system for year-end and pull reports without having to combine two different reporting structures. Instead of just one main page and a handful of sub-campaigns, we started setting up pages for each grant application to allow the applicants to promote their application with donors. FundRazr has worked with us to figure out how best to set-up and manage in excess of 100 sub-campaigns - including using widgets to display them on our charity website. ### 28. The only thing I'd say is the company matching had to be set up by FundRazr. It would be awesome if teams could do this themselves in the future. But other than that, it's a great platform! **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before FundRazr, we were actually having teams submit spreadsheets and doing all the calculating ourselves - yikes. This was such a huge time saver and it allowed so much more interaction! ### 33. They responded to my review to make it seem as if they were going to take care of the issues but continued to ignore my emails and our fundraiser would have failed had we mot recognized their incompetence earlier. **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** That online fundraising platforms are not created equal and one should be cautious when choosing where to give their business. ### 35. It is also a 3rd party site which claims to be social media friendly, but really is not. My crowdfunding is more successful using FB donation platform, which has not fees associated for either the donor/ org. Also, the "coaches" are very unhelpful. **What problems is FundRazr solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is beneficial for crowdfunding for my nonprofit clients.
