# Is the 2 GB Dropbox Basic plan enough for everyday files, photos and videos?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I'm writing a piece on whether the 2 GB <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/dropbox/reviews">Dropbox</a> Basic plan is enough for everyday files, photos and videos. Dropbox's own pages confirm that Basic includes 2 GB, that more space can be earned through referrals and other bonuses, and that paid plans start at 2 TB or more. Reading through the reviews for the product, 2 GB covers documents comfortably, while photos and videos fill it faster, which is when people decide whether to upgrade. Access from multiple devices, file recovery and easy sharing of large files all come with Basic, so the upgrade is about space rather than features.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">There are two kinds of user in <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/cloud-content-collaboration">cloud content collaboration</a>. Someone storing documents and the occasional image gets what they need from Basic.
